sk:n Birmingham part of sk:n clinics

sk:n is the country's leading skin clinic offering highly medically trained staff and the most regulated treatment approach in a meticulously clinical environment - nationwide. No one offers more specialised skin treatments - over 250, from mole excisions to anti-ageing injectables, tattoo removals to facial resurfacing - or uses more advanced technology to do so.

sk:n's heritage goes back over 20 year, to when it was founded in 1990 in Leeds and Harrogate within their NHS hospitals. sk:n's initial specialism was in laser hair removal and the company invested in the highest grade lasers on the market, operated in partnership with the NHS. Before long however, sk:n doctors were treating NHS patients for broader dermatological needs and an ongoing partnership emerged.

A stand-alone clinic was opened in Birmingham City Hospital in 1993, followed by a private clinic on Harley Street in the same year.

sk:n now have an network of nationwide clinics from Aberdeen to Portsmouth, with opening hours up to 9pm and are proud to be home to more leading consultant dermatologists, doctors, plastic surgeons, nurses or therapists than any other dermatology service provider.

All sk:n's laser technicians have the longest training in the industry and like all treaters in the organisation, operate according to the Medical Standard's Team approved medical protocols. There is a Medical Director in every clinic and all medical consumables used are of the highest grade available.

With extremely high customer loyalty and satisfaction scores, sk:n looks forward to offering even more clients the most effective, yet safe treatments on the market, as The Nation’s Skin Clinic.

Friendly staff and lots of free samples were given for me to try. No hard sale which makes a pleasant change and the glycolic peel left my skin feeling amazing! I will definitely go back for more and the products are fantastic too.

The therapist was so helpful and very knowledgable. I found the treatment itself very short but my skin felt very clear the next day. I would go back but the costs are very high and the products are very expensive. But for good skin i would pay anything.

I had a glycolic skin peel at the Sk:n clinic in Birmingham. The reception area was nice but the treatment room was a little dark and dingy. The treatment was really fast, lasted no more than half an hour I would say and the therapist was really nice. She went through all the products she used though I didn't buy any as they were too expensive. As I only had treatment I didn't notice much difference in my skin, it just looked like a had a facial. I was told however to see a noticable difference I would need to have a number of treatments. Overall it was a pleasant experience bt I don't think the treatment was really worth it and the 'goody bag' was pathetic - 2 tiny samples a mirror and exfoliating mitten!

This procedure left my face feeling very smooth, highly recommend. If you have this done try and do it towards the end of the day, you go slightly red and best to go home drink water and not put any make up or anything on your skin and have a good nights sleep. When I woke in the morning skin looked great! I would def have this done again. Place was clean staff were friendly.

The salon was really clean. Staff were excellently attentive. The deal was free so was very good value for money. Another friend was gutted to miss out! We will definitely consider sk:n if we were to have any treatments.

i wasnt greeted and rather embarrassingly, i had to say i had a voucher for the open evening, i had to do most the talking, i got some answers and the lady was helpful but it was not the service i expected.
I even had to ask for the goodie bag, which was not worth asking for, no money off voucer inside, the bag was worth more than the freebie sachet o sun cream. Nothing else to say really but it was a let down

The staff at the counter were not the most welcoming. We waited at least 5 minutes to be acknowledge. However the member of staff that gave us the consultaion was brilliant.

I was very pleased with the assessment I had and the level of professional advise I was given. Honest and friendly advice, no pressure to purchase and fully refundable deposit was a nice surprise.I will recommend the treatments to my friends as it was a very positive experience.

Excellent approach, honest and professional advise and follow up appointment arranged. I was recommended products that work very well and are priced reasonably. I didn't feel the pressure to purchase and go ahead with the procedures, other than I felt when being assessed in other skin care providers. Very happy with the services.

Staff were very friendly, however as a wahanda customer I got nothing extra in terms of other customers. Everyone got a goody bag with a couple of samples which were tiny and the same price treatments avaiable to all customers who attended the open evening. The skin peel was good and I would recommend it to anyone.

I had a Glycolic peel. Have had them before. Was happy with this and was at a great price. Goody bag was really just small (very small) samples!

Overall good experience would recommend this treatment to friends

I enjoyed the treatment and my skin was quite radient afterwards however very disappointed with the goody bag - 2 pairs of exfoliating gloves and a leaflet - I am sure it was meant to be the worth £15!

I visited Sk:n when it first opened and was really excited by it. A general open day, all staff were on hand to dish out advice and direct you to treatments you should be having. With a really sleek design, it struck me as somewhere I'd go back and try a treatment...which I did, about a month later.

One thing I hate is when you have expectations that just aren't met and unfortunately this was the case when I took my second trip to Sk:n. After mentioning I sometimes suffered with dry skin on my initial visit, they'd booked me in for one of their special microdermabrasion treatments. Not the most soothing or relaxing of treatments, it felt like I was having a hoover pulled and pushed over my face whilst little bits of gravel pounded my skin (apparently it wasn't gravel, it was micro-crystals).

Maybe I'm being dramatic, it was a while ago, but what I was really miffed about was how it left my skin afterwards. I knew it would be red for a few hours but it was drier than ever before. I mentioned that I'd be travelling to New York a few days after the treatment where the temperature was considerably lower than in Birmingham, (conditions that dry skin out regardless of whether you've had a few layers of the stuff removed or not), but I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem. I even got roped into spending £70 on product sthat would keep my skin as smooth as a baby's bottom. Did it heck? On my second day in America, I had to hunt down a chemist that sold super rich moisturising cream.Needless to say I've not been back to Sk:n since.
