sk:n Nottingham part of sk:n clinics

sk:n is the country's leading skin clinic offering highly medically trained staff and the most regulated treatment approach in a meticulously clinical environment - nationwide. No one offers more specialised skin treatments - over 250, from mole excisions to anti-ageing injectables, tattoo removals to facial resurfacing - or uses more advanced technology to do so.

sk:n's heritage goes back over 20 year, to when it was founded in 1990 in Leeds and Harrogate within their NHS hospitals. sk:n's initial specialism was in laser hair removal and the company invested in the highest grade lasers on the market, operated in partnership with the NHS. Before long however, sk:n doctors were treating NHS patients for broader dermatological needs and an ongoing partnership emerged.

A stand-alone clinic was opened in Birmingham City Hospital in 1993, followed by a private clinic on Harley Street in the same year.

sk:n now have an network of nationwide clinics from Aberdeen to Portsmouth, with opening hours up to 9pm and are proud to be home to more leading consultant dermatologists, doctors, plastic surgeons, nurses or therapists than any other dermatology service provider.

All sk:n's laser technicians have the longest training in the industry and like all treaters in the organisation, operate according to the Medical Standard's Team approved medical protocols. There is a Medical Director in every clinic and all medical consumables used are of the highest grade available.

With extremely high customer loyalty and satisfaction scores, sk:n looks forward to offering even more clients the most effective, yet safe treatments on the market, as The Nation’s Skin Clinic.

I have visited the Skin clinic in Nottingham several times for laser hair removal on my face. Where do I start.
This clinic lives in its own world. Whatever they did to me was ineffective. And trust me, I've been doing laser for about 6 years now..all over my body. Sometimes I felt like I was more expert than people in that clinic. They don't have the latest technology. That's why they don't mention on their website which machine they are using. There are several other places that use the latest machine. HOWEVER, their prices are unreasonably high!!!! They use their "reputation" to justify it. NO! DON'T BE FOOLED! Even when they have their 30-40% off, it is still much more expensive than LITERALLY ALL the other places I know!

Lastly, the girls there don't really care. They can leave hair untreated without understanding how much we want to get rid of them (and that "hurts" when you leave them so much money!)...I mean..other dermatologists I've visited were women that would understand how it's like to have facial hair and would be more careful. Would actually care! And would take much more time to treat.

AVOID! Don't be afraid of smaller clinics. Just make sure they they using new machines.

I went to an "Open Day" at this clinic and mentioned to the nurse about two lines on the side of my cheek. She said that cheek fillers would help. I agreed to this thinking a small amount may help. She injected Juvederm 4 into my cheeks even though my cheeks were fine and all I wanted was help with fine lines. I had pain in my cheeks almost immediately then swelling. I went back to the clinic a month later and asked for the filler to be removed, the nurse said that I could not have it removed, it was at this point she told me she had injected Juvederm 4. When I went on holiday due to the heat I experienced severe swelling in my face. I had the Juvederm removed with hyaluronidase by the clinic director. I now have sunken areas in both my cheeks and scarring on one side of my face. The clinic director gave me a letter for my GP who has referred me to hospital. This clinic appears to be only interested in selling "packages" and little to do with aesthetics. My face is destroyed.

Had a test patch for thread veins 8 months ago. Had terrible red blood blisters on my face for a month and still have a yellow patch on one side of my cheek and a scar on the other. The lasers are very out of date and the therapist/nurse appeared incompetant at using them e.g had to phone someone to show her how to turn the cold air button on. This is not a place I would advise others to go.
More modern clinics can treat thred veins leaving only small "scratch" marks which only last a few days - check for more up to date lasers and well trained staff rather than visit this clinic.

I had a glycolic peel deal at Nottingham clinics. I have to say the overall treatment did not worth it ( I paid 33 pounds), The therapist was too pushy to sell me things! really pushy!
the goody bag was nothing but a bag with a couple of discount coupons in there ( like 15 pounds off you next treatment) and a textile bad with sk:n logo. Not even one sample of any facial products at all!
The peel is really really superficial so the results were not impressive at all. The same as you would have by doing a normal peel in your own bathroom!

Also, I have to add that I was disappointed with the skin clinics over all as I do have a pretty good idea about dermatology ( I am a doctor). They do not use the latest technology laser for example.
Thats it!
