sk:n Maida Vale part of sk:n clinics

sk:n is the country's leading skin clinic offering highly medically trained staff and the most regulated treatment approach in a meticulously clinical environment - nationwide. No one offers more specialised skin treatments - over 250, from mole excisions to anti-ageing injectables, tattoo removals to facial resurfacing - or uses more advanced technology to do so. sk:n's heritage goes back over 20 year, to when it was founded in 1990 in Leeds and Harrogate within their NHS hospitals. sk:n's initial specialism was in laser hair removal and the company invested in the highest grade lasers on the market, operated in partnership with the NHS. Before long however, sk:n doctors were treating NHS patients for broader dermatological needs and an ongoing partnership emerged. A stand-alone clinic was opened in Birmingham City Hospital in 1993, followed by a private clinic on Harley Street in the same year. sk:n now have an network of nationwide clinics from Aberdeen to Portsmouth, with opening hours up to 9pm and are proud to be home to more leading consultant dermatologists, doctors, plastic surgeons, nurses or therapists than any other dermatology service provider. All sk:n's laser technicians have the longest training in the industry and like all treaters in the organisation, operate according to the Medical Standard's Team approved medical protocols. There is a Medical Director in every clinic and all medical consumables used are of the highest grade available. With extremely high customer loyalty and satisfaction scores, sk:n looks forward to offering even more clients the most effective, yet safe treatments on the market, as The Nation’s Skin Clinic.

Went there to have laser verrucca treatments done with Dr Firaz, who is simply awful. Didn't remove hard skin, rushed throughout as if he had train to catch. He was always rather rude but what really got me is when he tried to do an injection into the sole of my foot, which was already sore from acid treatments, in a completely unsympathetic, impatient and aggressive manner. Never again..

Impressive large premises at Maida Vale. Staff very polite & helpful. Had a glycolic peel for the first time, which was a low strength, so didn't notice a great deal of difference afterward s, although skin felt soft & smooth. The strength used, increases with a course, so perhaps would have seen better results with higher strength.

Was a little apprehensive before treatment, as didn't know what to expect but was a VERY simple procedure - just a liquid applied to face, left on for short time, then removed !

Googybag was about 5 free 5ml cosmetic samples, which will be useful for weekend away but have not used yet, so cant comment further.

Overall, a little disappointed, but maybe need course to achieve better effect ?

As soon as I arrived ,I felt very welcomed and given a couple of forms to fill, that will help the therapist assess my skin and needs,it felt very thorough if a bit clinical.
I waited a little bit for my therapist to finish the previous appointment, with a green tea and fresh water.
Then was led upstairs to the treatment room where my therapist skin told me all I needed to know she was glowing and looked 15 years younger than her given age...we both agree on genes too!
She was very thorough in explaining what my skin required and how the peel will work.
The only thing was the product itself:far too chemical for me and I can still recall the smell.
So they did a greta job but it really was not the facial for me.
Afterwards I was given my goody bag of free samples and offers on more treatment which I didn't take but bought the recommended eye cream which is truly good if a bit pricy at £50 but worth it and still going.
Professional, knowledgeable but wrong choice of treatment for my skin and not great results from it.

I had an appointment for a glycolic peel at Sk:n and found the experience to be very thoroughly worthwhile. The therapist was very knowledgeable and started with the analysis forms which I completed on arrival. She discussed my daily skin routines, general habits, and gave some great tips! Then, she analyzed my skin and we discussed any concerns. Finally, she conducted the glycolic peel and explained each step of the process as well as the products used. (I bought the daily cleanser and really like it!) I couldn't be more pleased about the experience and will definitely go back!

I booked the glycolic facial peel offer to have it at the London Wall clinic but I received a call a few hours before my appointment to be told that it is cancelled because apparently the therapist was off sick. I complained about the fact I wasn't given enough notice and asked then to check if there is another clinic around that I could still have the treatment. Eventually I ended up having to go to Maida Vale which was much further away.

Other than this issue, my experience with the Skin clinic in Maida Vale was really good. The staff were very professional and the therapist seemed very experienced and knowledgable as after the skin assessment she recommended to have microdermabrasion instead of the glycolic peel.
The results were good and I would definately go back again.

I went for my appointment on the day and I filled out a form and said that I had had a skin rash previously. They immediately said they couldnt do anything and a doctor would call to see if it was ok to do my facial. No doctor called and the therapist was quite scary with her advice before I left - she did a skin assesment and it was presented in quite a scary way - my skin doesnt look old but I felt as if it was pretty hopeless.

So I didnt hear back from them so cancelled my voucher.
