There was miscommunication between Wahanda and my therapist, so there was slight delay to my appointment. My therapist went out of her way to help me with my booking, so I really appreciated that! Great wax, really nice and relaxing room. Would definitely return!

This business essentially seems to be a single therapist, Michelle, operating out of a room at a Virgin Active. She didn't seem very organised, as there were quite a few problems leading up to my appointment. A few days after I made the booking, she asked if I could come a bit later in the day, which I said was fine. The day of my appointment came and she contacted me saying that she'd apparently been trying to get hold of me but hadn't been able to. I reminded her that we had, in fact, spoken and she said she'd made a mistake and couldn't fit me in after all. We arranged for me to go the week after instead. I confirmed my appointment the previous day, but literally a couple of hours before she contacted me again to ask if I could go later in the day. I agreed again and she qualified it to it "should be" okay, since she hadn't heard back from her client immediately after me. I probably should have just cancelled at that point.

As it were, I went along and was basically left waiting outside a door for nearly half an hour, as the treatment room is at the top of some stairs with nowhere to sit. When I eventually went in, Michelle asked if I had my spare knickers with me. I was quite annoyed about this, as I'd asked her twice if there was anything I needed to bring with me (the first time had been by email, which she hadn't replied to and the second time by text when she'd said no). I didn't have any, so she asked if I minded just taking them off, which I said was fine. She stayed in the room while I undressed, which I think is quite unusual. There wasn't anywhere to put my things apart from a hook on the door, so most of it went on the floor.

I was having a body wrap. There was meant to be a choice between mud and algae, but Michelle didn't mention this and I just got mud. I'd never had this kind of treatment before, so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but it seemed as though she just quickly slapped the mud on certain parts of my body. I'd envisaged my body being properly covered and it just felt a bit sloppy really. I mentioned my problem area was my bum and the back of my thighs, but I don't think she considered this. I don't know if she was maybe trying to be discreet because I was completely naked, but it wasn't a big deal for me and I would have preferred it if she'd just done a good job. She wrapped me in the foil; it was quite warm inside and I sweated a little, but really I knew it wasn't going to do anything and, in fact, there were no results.

I'd opted to upgrade to a facial, which was done at the same time. This was very nice and far superior to the body wrap. The only doubt I have is the supposed extraction. I mentioned my friend had recently had it done and was raving about the results, but I must have used the wrong term because she'd described a machine that sort of zapped your pores and what I got was Michelle squeezing the odd spot on my face between her fingers. Nevertheless, my skin looked and felt lovely and soft afterwards and I was happy.

When the treatment was over, Michelle soaked some towels in water in the sink and rubbed off most of the mud that way. I wrapped a towel round myself and got off the table and she immediately wanted to be paid. I really thought she could have waited until I was decent before doing this. I wanted to have a shower, but there wasn't one in the room and there wasn't a robe I could wear to go outside. Since the men's changing rooms were on the same floor, I decided against making a run for it in a towel and decided I would just have to put my clothes back on, although this obviously wasn't ideal.

I asked for a clean towel and Michelle told me, if I was going to have a shower, I would need my own padlock for the locker. Again, she'd told me I didn't need to bring anything with me, so like with the spare knickers, I didn't happen to have a padlock with me either. She suggested I just risk it and put my things in an empty locker close to the shower and nip in and out, which is what I landed up doing. The alternative was to leave my things where they were, since she reckoned she didn't have an appointment for another half hour. This seemed unlikely, since she'd warned me when I'd arrived that there would probably be a knock on the door at some point and, when I left, there was a lady waiting outside looking thoroughly fed up and then a different one when I came out of the shower. She left to get change, since she didn't have any and the card machine was apparently out of paper and I got dressed while she was gone.

Michelle seemed like a nice person, but I wouldn't return or recommend it because she's unfortunately highly disorganised and, although the facial was good, the body wrap was a complete waste of money.

I went to see Michelle for a Deep Cleansing Facial and an Indian Head Massage: unfortunately, even if the appointment was at 230, Michelle coudn't see me before 240/245, but she later explained she had to check something with her previous client because she was on some medications which could interfere with the treatment she was having. Anyway, Michelle was very friendly and she made me feel comfortable straight away.

She started with the facial, and then she continued with the head massage, massaging my shoulders and the top of my torso as well... Let it suffice to say that it was so relaxing I fell asleep!! I was woken up by Michelle telling me the treatment was over... It as a very pleasant experience which I hope to repeat as soon as possible!

I went to Skin Deep a couple of weeks ago for the Mineral Mud wrap and I was pleasantly surprised at the service. Although the treatment room is within a busy Virgin Active gym, the room was very relaxing and I even fell asleep at one point! The wrap was o.k, there isn't any facilities to shower but Michelle wiped off the mud with mitts and hot water which worked just fine. It significantly reduced the bloating I had, but I made the mistake of eating straight after which left me feeling rather constipated. The added bonus was the add on mini facial which I got for an additional 15 pounds, this involved a face massage, scrub and an extraction and was without a doubt the best facial I've ever had. Afterwards my skin felt really smooth, radiant and moisturized. I definitely will be coming back for a longer 60 minute facial for the times where I feel like spoiling myself!

Michelle, the therapist was a lovely lady, I originally booked an appointment for a Friday however she was unable to do it so we rescheduled the appointment to a Thursday which was fine as I'm local to the area.

The place was easy to find as it was located in Virgin Active in Ladbroke Grove, near Portobello Road. When I arrived, I was greeted by the staff at the reception desk who helped sign me in and told me where to go.

I arrived early and Michelle was accommodating, I had a manicure and it was lovely. Nail colour is still immaculate 3 days later, usually its gone by the second day.

I would recommend and go back again, am planning to go back for other treatments.

Overall a very pleasant experience and very relaxing session. However having 2 treatments combined in a single session of just 45 minutes felt rather rushed and hence the treatment felt incomplete

Michelle was lovely and very meticulous with her work. My eyebrows were shaped very well and the tint on my lashes was nice and dark. The tint on my eyebrows was a little too dark for my liking but next time I'll make sure that it's not on as long. Would recommend.

The body wrap was fine, the beautician friendly, calm and competent, she also included a lovely head massage. Afterwards I felt really relaxed.

The body wrap was nothing special and the facilities are not amazing. You actually have to go to the gym shower if you want one.

However, the therapist was great and she gave me the best head massage ever! So overall a good experience. I wouldn't go there for this body wrap though.

Google maps have the wrong location for this place so make sure you know where you have to get.
And the Virgin receptionists don't know when you ask them about the spa, so tell them you are there for Michele (the therapist)
The wrap was very pleasant, effective, and the head massage in between was so relaxing I thought I will dive into my massage bed! Skin felt rejuvenated and I overall felt more energized as a result.
