i went with a friend. the spa is located right next to Edinburgh Waverley train station, so in terms of location is very handy. when you enter the building, there is a metal staircase, which is surrounded by dark lighting. The overall facilities are very good. i would recommend this spa to a friend, however the Gym is not extravagant.

i enjoyed the experience, one member of staff was extremely condescending, but overall it was a good experience. i would probably not visit again soon, as the experience wasn't totally fabulous. the building it's self was flawless.

Really good value for money. It was a great experience. The venue and the facilities are great. It was very quiet when we went in and we could use all the facilities. I definitively recommend it.

Great day at the Scotsman spa. Facilities were excellent - lovely pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna and tropicarium. Robes, slippers and towels provided. Smoothies very tasty and facilities nice and clean. Body detox package good, back massage, mud wrap and facial all nice. Would definitely recommend.

We used the facilities on a wahanda voucher. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pool loveyy with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Nice loungers at poolside but lighting in this area very dim. Overall good facilities and helpful staff.

We had a lovely day at teh Spa the therapists and treatments along with lunch superb. only wee complaint was that there were no seats left beside the pool to lounge in and that it was a bit chilly in hte lounging area. relaxation area was lovely and it woudl have been great to have stayed there for lunch!

I took my mum here for a birthday surprise whilst we were in Edinburgh so I was really nervous - but I needn't have been. It far exceeded my expectations. Lovely staff who listened to my particular muscle concerns and gave one the best full body massages I have ever had. The oils were also really nice and the consultation was thorough. After the experience we were lead to a 'relaxation room' and served drinks as well as having full use of all facilities, it was such a treat!

Fabulous, relaxing day out what a great price! Well worth the money when compared to other Spas in the area. Perfect for girlies who want to chill out, unwind and have a good gossip but equally as nice a treat for couples! Really enjoyed it and will definitely like to return again soon.

First impressions of my experience with the Scotsman was poor. I purchased a spa day for my sisters birthday and initially booked for her actual birthday. When I called to book, I was told the booking was confirmed but she would call me back to confirm!?...there was no phonecall, so I assumed it was confirmed. When i called back 2 weeks later to confirm the booking for the next day - I was told they had no record of the booking and they were closed for training on the day I'd initially chosen. So I had to book for the day after.

On arrival the pool area looked amazing and the facilities seemed lovely. However, the receptionist who "welcomed" us on arrival was grumpy and gave us no information whatsoever, just handed us some gowns and told us to go to the changing rooms. We didn't know where anything was (from previous spa experiences you usually get a short tour so you know what you're doing and are allowed to use the relaxation rooms as a base). So we changed and felt we had no choice but to sit in the pool area until our facial booking 2 hours later. The swimming pool was uncomfortably cold, the steam room was broken and the sauna was cold. So not an ideal place to spend 2 hours waiting on a facial.

That said, the facial was out of this world. The therapist listened to exactly what i told her about my skin and tailored the facial to suit my skin type. I have to say it is probably the best facial i've ever had and I would highly recommend her (unfortunately, I dont have her name).

After the facial, the therapist gave us a short tour and left us in the relaxation rooms - which were fantastic, a really lovely experience and gorgeous place to spend the afternoon. If only the receptionist was more helpful at the start and they didn't mess up my initial booking - as I would have rated this higher.

My friend and me arrived two hours prior to our booked treatments. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and offered drinks while we are filling in our treatment enquiry form. We have used their saunna, steam rooms and of course the swimming pool. My therapist has given me a relaxing facial and the mask was great!

We really enjoyed our day here. There were nice facilities in the gym, changing rooms and pool area and they were kept very clean. My friend really enjoyed her massage and said it was amongst one of the best she had had. While I enjoyed mine, I felt teh room was a bit cold and the therapist didnt ask me if I was comfortable with teh temperature. That said - it was a really lovely day and we will be going back. Great value!

I found the venue clean and stylish the pool was adequate but the room a little dark for chilling and reading a book. It was nice to relax after the hub of it surroundings I would go again with wahandas help! PS avoid the swim lesson if you want to lounge by the pool and check before booking!

We arrived at the Scotsman Spa and health club 3 hours before our spa treatments were scheduled in, on arrival we were pleasantly greeted by the lady behind the desk, she proceeded to take our details and handed us our robes, towels and slippers before giving us a 5 minute guide of the spa's fantastic facilities, whilst my other half read some magazines on a comfortable lounger by the pool I took up the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the fantasticly equipped gym where a member of staff was always available to help out if needed. In the changing rooms and shower area there were more than enough lockers for everyone as well as hair dryers, complimentary shower gel's and shampoo, trunk dryer and even a wall mounted 46" tv, all the areas of the locker rooms ie...showers, toilets etc were spacious and immaculatley clean. About an hour before our treatments we took time out to sit in the lounge area were we purchased a couple of fresh fruit smoothies and a freshly made to order sandwich which were both as gorgeous as each other. When it was time for our treatments we were greeted by our therapists who lead us to the treatment rooms where our treatments began, we had previously asked if we could have our massages in the same room which was catered for, our room was dimly lit by an abundance of pleasantly scented candles and there was a relaxing music playing softly in the background, the perfect combination for a relaxing atmosphere, our treatments began and lasted for 55 minutes, there are not enough words in my vocabulary to describe how good they were, absolutely immense. Once they were over we were quietly lead to a 'quiet zone' were we were given a choice of the lounger s ie...sun loungers, suspended half dome loungers, chaise's, once chosen we were wrapped in oversized soft white duvets and presented with herbal tea, iced water and a choice of fresh fruit, we were told to spend as much time as we wanted in the quiet zone to let our relaxation continue. After about 30 minutes we made our way back to the pool area were we indulged in the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. All in all we spent about 6 hours at The Scotsman Spa and Health club were every second we enjoyed and was perfect, it took us 3 hours to get to Edinburgh by train from were we live, I would happily WALK that distance for another experience like the one we had. The Scotsman Spa and health club is a cut hove anything we have ever experienced before, they have set a standard to such a high level. Fantastic.

wow, how fantastic!
the venue was beautiful. my friend and i booked 2 full body massages, the deal was £65 for 2 people. what a bargain!
the stainless steel pool was fabulous, maybe a bit dark (but that's just me). the facilities were kept very clean.
our therapist for the massages was excellent. i get regular massages and i must say i highly recommend getting a full body massage at the scotsman. afterwards, we were taken to the relaxation room - the beds were so comfortable with a big duvet in a quiet setting. what more do u want?! x

I took my mother-in-law along to my spa day at the Scotsman. We both had aromatherapy massage and found them FANTASTIC! The stainless steel pool was amazing to swim in and don't even get me started on the jacuzzi. They have a great after treatment room that was so comfy and with the lovely cup of tea, I could have stayed there all night as well! I would HIGHLY recommend everyone try a day here - you may go in stressed, but will most certainly come out relaxed and refreshed!

I treated my friend to the 2 for 1 spa day at the scotsman for her birthday and pre wedding treat, she gets married in november.
I booked in for the R&R Facial and my friend got the full body aromatherapy massage,we also got full use of all the facilities(swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna) which were amazing, lovely and quiet when we went in so really had the place to ourself. The stainless steel swimming pool was totally different, very modern. We enjoyed a nice lunch also before our treatments, the staff can not do enough for you, very helpful. My facial is the best I have ever had, and I have had quite alot of them in different spa's, also my friend said that her massage is the best she has ever had and also she has had alot and is also a beautician so knows her stuff. Very very impressed with the whole experience and would go back in a second. Im thinking of booking the same deal for my mum and her friend.
I will be back : )
