I have been to Rosebery Rooms in Chancery Lane about 12 times now for waxing. The job done is always fine, but the level of customer service is absolutely shocking. The second time I went, I was kept waiting for over an hour for my treatment, with no apology or explanation for why. I was offered a free wax as an apology later on, after I sent a lengthy complaint email.

I have since been back a few times, for the sole reason that it is close to my office and easy to get to after work or on a lunch break, and when you block purchase three treatments in advance, you pay £60 for three waxes. Good enough value to ensure I am a returning customer.

However, on my last visit there, I bought three waxes in advance, in preparation for my next few waxes. I recently tried to book one wax and was told by reply that I required a voucher number to be supplied to the salon within 24 hours to secure the booking - what kind of reply is that to a repeat customer? I promptly replied to say that I wasn't making a livingsocial voucher booking and that I had prepaid in advance on my last visit.

I called up straight away to clarify - the manager - Sonia, was insistent that there was absolutely no trace of my payment anywhere on the system, and that if I wanted to book for another wax, I would be paying full price. I assured her that I had paid for the waxes on my last visit. She clearly didn't believe me and said that there was nothing in the system under my name that I had already purchased three treatments. Sonia told me I would have to either provide a receipt as proof of purchase or trawl through my bank statements to prove it.

I went through my statements and sure enough, there was a payment for £60 to Rosebery Rooms two days after the date of my last appointment in which I alleged that I had made payment. I immediately called the spa back to confirm this, and I was told to bring my bank statement with me to my next appointment as 'proof'.

As a customer who has paid hundreds of pounds in treatments to this salon, I am disgusted at the way this issue has been dealt with. I should not have to trawl through bank statements to prove that I have already paid £60 worth of treatment when it's clearly an error or incompetence on their part, that they are unable to keep track of payments and customer accounts properly.

I have still not received an apology from the salon. Once I have used my treatments I have absolutely no intention of returning and will be sure to inform my colleagues, friends and family of my experiences here.

They called after I booked and said the time on the wahanda site wasn't available. The slot they offered was early for a saturday but I accepted it anyway since they didn't say I could cancel or anything. In the end I was working until midnight in the office the night before and slept through my alarm and woke up 30 minutes before the appointment so I was a no show and lost the voucher. Not had this problem on any other wahanda spas. If they couldn't offer the date and time as booked it should have been an automatic refund and an email politely inviting me to rebook for another time, not a random call from a pushy receptionist pressuring me into an inconvenient slot.

The therapist was great, however, the colonic hydrotherapy was a big of disappointment to be honest. I had it somewhere else once and compared to that, it was very basic and did not meet my expectations to be honest. I would go back to massage to there, but for colonic hydrotherapy I would go somewhere else.

I got lost but I eventually found the place. Its very underground which I like because it's not part of a building. I went for a Brazilian wax, which was the 2nd one I have ever had in my life. I thought I was going to cry my eyes out because my first wax in different place was sooooo painful. This pain for this was 4/10. Maria made me feel comfortable whilst getting my treatment done and she knew what she was doing. I left there silky smooth, no blisters or anything. I am defiantly going to go back. best place to get a brazilian!!

The therapist I had was very accomplished and knew exactly what she was doing, Amrita. This was the best treatment I have had with a colonic therapist and I know it was because she was well trained.

Although not the most glamorous/polished salon, the experience was great. I had Maria but all the ladies were completely charming, friendly, efficient and the treatment i had was one of the best ever. Highly recommend.

I had a very good experience, and the staff there was polite and welcoming. I was served tea while waiting for my treatment, and it didn't take long. It was a nice area although at first I didn't realise it was under a basement and not the hair salon next door, though they are now one beauty salon.

Agaib, this time the staff was friendly and welcoming. I was given green tea after they asked if I wanted something to drink. The wait wasn't too long, and I felt the session was comfortable and the staff was.cobfident and not too chatty which was positive.

I was given a Birthday gift, I thoroughly enjoyed the Massage and love the atmosphere, it was a bit difficult to find, hope that can be fixed as outside don't do justice to inside.

This is a review for the chancery lane branch. I brought a voucher from wowcher for a 1 hour body wrap, 30 min facial and 30 minute massage for £29 and was looking forward to some me time. I was however, quite disappointed with the staff attitude and the treatment itself. Booking the appointment was no problem and finding it was ok as I called prior and asked for directions. The entrance is not a building its as if you are going down into a tube station which I thought was lovely because the ambience as soon as you step in from the busy street is perfect. Nice relaxing music and comfy sofas in receptipn area. The venue is small but clean. However, I was faced with the most bored looking receptionist the world ever did see and whilst she booked me in she did not look at me once. The therapist did not smile at me just said come through. I don't know her name because she did not introduce herself. There was no consultation for the massage or facial which made me nervous. The back massage did not last 30 minutes and was like someone just rubbing oil on my skin. There was no effort at all and it did not remotely relax me. It felt as if she just couldn't be bothered. The body wrap was an exfoliation scrub, again with no effort, and wrapping me up in the plastic I layed on. This was extremely uncomfortable because she had the air conditioning on and every time any bit of me was exposed I was freezing. The scrub was washed off with a wet towel whilst you lay on the bed so when I got dressed I had bits all over me still. Why no shower available? The therapist did not speak to me once during the whole time. I did not know she was about to start the facial so nearly jumped out of skin when unexpectedly I felt a cold cleanser on my face. I just found it rude. The facial however, was good and she massaged my face for a good while. Only at this point did I relax. When I got dressed and went outside I was not asked how my treatment was or offered a glass of water. The therapist just stared at me and went into another room to treat another client. The receptionist ignored me as I walked out. Didn't even say bye. Weird vibe. Never again.

Well, I know why they did that. Because you had a 'cheap' voucher = no effort required. Staff in this kind of services only put effort when the customer is likely to come back with more money (and, if you have a voucher, you probably won't). Unfortunately, I am guessing that's what they would do in many places.

The therapist was friendly and very professional with the service offered. She was helpful and knowledgeable when asked her questions and she gave me a wonderful facial massage again. She was a little too chatty in between but it didn't bother me too much. Overall it was good value and professional.

i would not recommend. I bought a livingsocial voucher for 3 waxing treatments, the first visit was just ok in terms of service. It has been very difficult to book the second appointment, the messages/emails weren't returned. When I finally got an appointment and turned up, I was told I didn't have an appointment and had to re-book. I had already had a confirmation email and was sure of the date/time but I was told I didn't have an appointment. When I got back home to check emails, I did have the right date/time and an additional email saying that my appointment was cancelled and re-booked at the exact time I was at the salon...

Needless to say this was a complete waste of time and now have to return in two days. I suspect the only beautician that was there was running late and decided not to keep the last appointment to go home early. Extremely unprofessional. This is the second time that there is no reception staff and there is only a beautician that has to leave the treatment room to answer the door. Will not return.
