The spa was being redecorated/ new wall paper so it felt less relaxing seeing tools & work benches right near the changing rooms. For my birthday I booked the couples experience - the whole point being you can enjoy treatments at the same time - but when I rang to book they only had one therapist available. So my partner and I had less time together - missing the whole point of the day.
The jacuzzi was nice. I didn't use the plunge pool. Steam and sauna rooms were big enough for 4ppl so i'm glad it was quiet when I went. The relaxation room did not have "riverside views" as suggested. It was simply a room with some leather couches & pan pipe music playing.
the treatment was overall good. I thought I wad getting a full body massage because it was advertised for 1hr but the therapist said it was just back massage (a little disappointed) - she doesn't a good 30minutes getting the knots or of my back bit less time on my facial which felt rushed.
The food at the restaurant was alright. Butbjnever expected to pay nearly £70 for two posh fish & chips and 2 cocktails, even with the 50% off. not worth the money.

The 2 for 1 couples day was great value for money. We arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning, where we had the spa to ourselves. We had booked a couples room for our treatments (massage and facial) and both therapists were fantastic. Overall a very relaxing experience and we would book again.

The actual spa is a little bit dated, now. My treatments were lovely, because I had a really good therapist. The changing rooms were a little bit dissapointing. There were no handtowels or rubbish bin in the toilets and there were slipppers and dressing gowns lying around. I didn't get my glass of champagne (which was part of the deal), but actually I wouldn't have had it anyway, because I was having a massage, but I might have like an alternative.

Overall, we had a good experience at the River Wellbeing Spa. We got the Depp tissue massage and the body wrap. They were both really nice. However, it was a bit cold in the room, and in the spa in general. The hot tub was a bit cold as well. On top of that the steaming wasn't working. Besides all of this, staff were was nice and it was great value for money, hence the 3 and a half stars!

Was a very small spa, with the pool not being a full sized one just a hydro current pool. But for the size it was we were normally all alone in any of the facilities and the Massage was amazing. Make sure to insist on the day for the couples room even if you did so on the phone, as we did so and noticed other couples getting split up and so we made sure to insist as there is only the one couples room

I have visited this venue many times now. The Wahanda deal is superb, even for the facial alone. I am a fan of this venue. The spa facilities are small but perfectly adequate for a single person or pair. The treatment room was, once again, very calming and peaceful. It was warm and quiet. The facial itself was very professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will come again, without hesitation.

The Body wrap and deep tissue therapist was amazing! so much so I fell asleep!

The only flaw was the receptionist, once we arrived we were seated and then told to 'walk through the doors and we will find the changing room', when it was time for the champagne I had to walk back to reception soaking wet and ask where this was and was told that upon arrival the receptionist was supposed to bring us to the relaxation room and show us where the drinks were and so forth, this did not happen, she was too busy on the phone having personal conversations.

The spa itself is extremely small I did not expect this, there were 4 of us in the jacuzzi and it was a bit of an awkward tight squeeze however the facility itself was great, Jacuzzi was very powerful and relaxing. Thankfully there was only another couple, anymore than this would have been awkward, they time appointments well.

Good facilities and value for money. Staff is very welcoming and knowledgable. The only place where I have given 4 stars is because of the overall size, but it could be 4.5.

I went for the 'Get Ready for Summer' Package - the treatment was fantastic and my therapist was very professional. However, I tried to use the swimming pool and the jacuzzi and they wouldn't turn on. I asked the staff about it and they gave me some vague reply and still didn't help me turn them on so in the end I just didn't bother...which is a shame because I was looking forward to use the swimming pool, especially that I went on a quiet day and I was the only one there. The sauna room was great, but the steam room not so much, smells a bit moldy in there.
