The best spa day I've ever been on!

Gorgeous venue, staff are helpful, welcoming and friendly. Facilities are incredible - spotlessly clean and a great variety.

After a 'refresh and revive' day I came away feeling as relaxed as though I'd had a week's holiday!

Worth every penny and will definitely be returning

Ragdale is very close to where my parents live so my mum, sister and i spend a weekend together here each year. The facilities are excellent, lots of variety: sports, exercise classes, loads of wet rooms / steam rooms / saunas etc and a huge range of treatments and therapies.

The accommodation was looking a bit tired this year but apparently our rooms are going to be decorated soon. It;s still very comfortable and cosy there.

This is totally my favorite Spa and i try go least once a year . Staff and welcome was outstanding and was amazed by the overall spa . The candle pool is awesome could stay in there for hours , my treatments were lovely and therapists very professional. The only negative was when we stayed overnight , when we had dinner the hall was cold , and when we went up to our room it was even colder only to discover the heating had broke , we was brought heaters in the end.

As a professional therapist and facialist myself I admit I'm probably the worst kind of client to have walk through the door!
However time and time again I have gone to Ragdale Hall as my No.1 choice destination for a thorough "chill out". Two or three night here feels as restorative as a week away anywhere else.

Breakfast served in bed, lunches in your dressing gowns, dinner too if you wish!
Check in - dressing gown on, chill out! you only need to get dressed properly again to go home.l
Wonderful new Thermal Experience near the pool area, little candle lit water cave-pods, crystal steam rooms - heaven.
Great therapists too.

If you haven't been to Ragdale Hall, please go. You will be doing yourself a huge favour. So many of us forget to spend time on ourselves and our bodies. But if you work hard, you owe it to unwind from time to time, and Ragdale Hall is the place to do it.
Ragdale has something for everyone and your break can be as active or as relaxing as you want. You can work your body with step aerobics or unwind with Yoqua, which is a lovely Yoga workout in one of Ragdale's many pools. Really, the activities are too numerous to mention.
The facilities can only be described as fabulous - from scented steam rooms, underground grotto-style spa baths and outdoor heated pools with waterfalls, it truly is magical. For the first time in my life I actually relaxed.
The cuisine is fabulous and plentiful, and breakfast in bed is superb. The rooms are gorgeously comfortable. The building and grounds are beautiful and superbly kept. And with great staff to boot, I simply can't fault this place. Go now!

Fantatsic retreat, better value as an overnight break than a day spa. Soooo many facilities a day wont do it justice. Food is really good too. A total pampering experience. Have returned again and again and been to many other spas and Ragdale is still my number one choice for an overnight spa break. A great mother/daughter treat!

One of the more traditional country spas, Ragdale is famous far and wide for it's revolutionary treatments, top of the range therapists, varied exercise classes (70s Boogie, Billy Elliot and Line Dancing to name a few) and views across the county, so I was more than happy when I rocked up on a rainy afternoon, knowing that I wouldn'™t have to spend another moment in the wet and windy weather.

Not that I stayed dry for very long; the moment I spotted their impressive pool, I decided to take a dip. Often in spas, the pools can be a bit of a lost entity and are more like large baths, but Ragdale'™s did not disappoint. With enough space to swim or just have a splash about under the waterfall feature, it felt good to do a bit of exercise whilst I was waiting for my treatment. It also heightened my hunger pangs too which I dealt with after my water workout.

The restaurant at Ragdale is spacious to say the least and is very much like a hotel eatery in my eyes, with impressive chandeliers and silver service settings. With a huge buffet, you can pick out healthy salads or indulge in more than one course of hot food.

Once lunch was over, it was off to try out one of their signature treatments, the Avocado and Lemon Reviver. Not an exotic smoothie, but an exfoliation treatment fresh from their Natural Balance range. The scrub is made from a concoction of bran, oats, avocado and lemon oil which provides enough roughness to slough off dead skin. Warm avocados and grapefruit essence are then smoothed on before I was bound in a body wrap. Whilst I was lying there motionless, the therapist performed a pressure point scalp massage which helped to take my mind off the slightly itchy scratchy feeling of the bran and oats against my skin.

Once the head massage was over, it was into the shower to wash away all the dirt and debris before having a mixture of cocoa butter and avocado smoothed on to keep the skin soft. Although it wasn'™t the comfiest treatment I've had, (I felt I was impersonating a cereal bar) it did leave my skin feeling soft and it felt good knowing that the treatment had been fashioned from totally natural ingredients.

Because Ragdale Hall is a traditional health spa and so well renowned, I did feel slightly out of place at times and I think this was down to the vast scale and slightly older clientele. Although I wasn't a spa newcomer, I did find it a tad more intimidating than some of the city spas I'™ve visited but the staff did their upmost to make me feel comfortable and relaxed at all times. Sitting on my own dressed in a towelling robe also felt like it would be more suited to a beachside bar rather than an elaborate dining room, especially when there were fully clothed folk on the table next to me!
