I've had several massages in the past, but never a "Hot Stone" massage.
I chose Shear Success as it’s local to me and I like Aveda.
The salon on entering is really nice, lots of Aveda products and got a really friendly welcome. My therapist (Leanne) came to meet me and took me upstairs to the actual spa which was really warm and cosy feeling and very plush.
Leanne gave me a free cup of Aveda tea and a form to assess my needs. Then I was given a choice of oils to smell and selected my favourite which was used throughout my massage.
Once in massage room (again really comfy and no whale music!) I was given a warm foot bath and scrub and then taken to the heated massage bed. Every step of the way, she confirmed that the pressure was not too rough, the stones not too hot, and that overall I was comfortable. Even checked to make sure I was happy to have oil near my hair! Afterwards I was then spritzed with scented oil and then wrapped in hot towels and left to relax until I was ready to get up. Not rushed out like some places I’ve been to and allowed to chill out in the relation lounge after. Leanne checked to see if I was happy and then took me to pay and also explained about the products etc used and after care (drink lots of water!)
It may have been my first "Hot stone" massage, but it definitely will not be my last and I’m definitely going to try the other spa treatments on offer. 5 stars from me!
