I’d like to say that on the two occasions I have been The Owl House Spa it has been a lovely and relaxing experience.

Went to the Owl House today with my sisters and mum, we didn't know what to expect but on arrival we thought it was a beautiful setting and building. We were greeted by friendly, lovely staff and nothing was too much trouble. The décor is gorgeous with treatment rooms and rest rooms with beanbags, magazines and water all freely available.
We all had the pig in mud treatment which made our skin really soft and was enjoyable, my sister and I both had the back massage which was amazing, I've had a few and this was the best by a mile, then we had the pedicure which was lovely. The hot tub was great and all the girls are so friendly, approachable, chatty, the list could go on how great they all were.

We all personally loved it here and were completely relaxed, we all can't wait to treat our self's again, I'll be recommending to every one.

I visited The Owl House Spa as a 60th Birthday surprise for my mum and I had also recently had a baby so we both were in desperate need of relaxation and pampering. The location was stunning and we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we had arrived. The interior is beautifully decorated in a shaby chic effect. The staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I loved how we were left to relax and unwind and the girls came to find us when our treatments were ready. We had the pig in mud - Great fun, back massage, pedicure and manicure. All treatments were fantastic and specific to our needs. I loved how lunch is served in a hamper to take where we wanted and we could have it when we were hungry as opposed to a specific time. The food was delicious - very large portions too! yum yum! The girls also arranged for a birthday cup cake for my mum which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was perfect to relax in with a glass of champagne. Magazines and water a plenty and lovely lounge beds and bean bags to have a snooze or a natter on. Would 100% recommend The Owl House and have done so to many people as I feel it's much more personal than other larger establishments that I feel i'm just a number! Can't wait to go again!

I was recommended the Owl house spa by a friend. My wife and I was visiting the Spa to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We was brought champagne in the hot tub and enjoying some quality time bubbling away in the hot tub, before we went for our treatments..... I have got to say I was a little worried about a cut throat shave, however loved the whole experience and would recommend this treatment to men for a change. It was a wonderful experience! My wife went for the Rose cocoon which she is still raving about now. We are already planning our next visit.

Let me first say that the staff here were pleasant & polite & the massage and facial I had were both excellent. The setting is also lovely: What appears to be a converted set of stables in the very lush and pleasant grounds of an old priory.

This has the potential to be a very nice day spa but I’m afraid it’s not there yet for the following reasons.

Firstly, what separates a spa and a beauty salon offering similar luxery treatments is the presence of at the very least a sauna, steam room and quite often a cold shower, plunge pool & jacuzzi. The idea should be that you could simply opt to spend a few hours in the Spa, ignoring the treatments, and still come away feeling relaxed and refreshed.

That is why “Spa days” or “Spa afternoons” etc have hours built in to them when you’re not scheduled to be having any treatments – time when you can enjoy the other facilities.

At Owl House Day Spa we were certainly given hours to while away but nothing much to while them away with.

The only facilities are a couple of rooms with beanbags, magazines & blankets, some day beds and in the courtyard a hot-tub.

Yes. A hot tub. Sounds fun you say. It isn't. Hot tubs are not jacuzzis. The water is not constantly filtered and cleaned. It sits there thickening with oil, dead skin & grit until it is emptied & replaced. Not such an issue at a private party where a couple of people will spend at most an hour in the tub. Definitely an issue when woman after woman gets it, sometimes after an oil or mud based treatment, and sits for long enough for the dead skin on their feet to start to flake off.
In this particular tub the water was tinged with green & there was detritus floating on the top & lurking at the bottom.

We sat in it for want for something to do but it left me feeling sticky & dirty rather than cleansed and relaxed.

After 3 1/2 hours of hanging around we finally got taken through for our first treatment - The Pig in Mud Experience.

A strange one this - you're taken to a sort of steam room come shower with two deep chairs facing each other. We were both handed pots with mud, told to rub it over our bodies then sit & wait for the "tropical rain shower" to wash it away. It was pleasant enough but we were given about a third the mud we'd need to really cover ourselves.

After that we had our other treatments - a massage & facial for me, a massage & pedicure for my friends - & neither one of us had any complaints.

All in all this place has bags of potential. The setting & staff are great. Its beautifully decorated & apart from the hot tub, very clean.

But its simply not fair to market it as a spa when there are no real spa facilities. Especially when we were asked to arrive at 1 & then told wed not have our first treatment until 4.30.

The hot tub just isn't appropriate. A for reasons of cleanliness and B because of it had been raining we'd not have wanted to venture outside, even to get into a tub & so the only thing we'd have been able to do in our 3 1/2 hour wait would have been sit on a beanbag reading magazines.

Had we really understood what facilities there were and had we known when we'd be having out first treatment we have asked to arrive much later in the day.

If they add a sauna, steam room & some sort of cold shower/plunge pool, get rid of the hot tub completely & hand out a lot more mud for the pig in Mud treatment it'd be top notch.

As it stands though it's a high quality salon masquerading as a spa.

Went to Owl House Day Spa yesterday and had such a lovely day there. The atmosephere is really great and since the chillout areas are all small and intimate you can usually get an area just for yourselves - perfect for couples. The outdoor hot tub was stunning and at the time was surrounded with snow - gorgeous! Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome and at ease.

There is a very relaxed atmosphere, which is great for a spa; however for some could be taken too far into disorganisation. We did have to chase staff to get food, drink, information etc rather than things working around us which would've been the ideal. The rasul therapy was lovely although we could've done with a lot more mud - I only managed to cover about half of my body and that was with a thin layer! Our treatments were in the hayloft suite which again was stunning - the place is only small but they make the best of the space and it creates a really intimate atmosphere - and its been done out immaculately. Would definitely go back!

What a fab place. The minute you walk in the aroma is lovely and you just feel a sense of relaxation and calmness. We chilled out in a room with plenty of super large bean bags and just read mags until we then decided to go into the hot tub. The staff were more than happy to bring our champagne to us and we relaxed and let the jets sooth us. We had the pig in mud which was great and a good giggle too. We finished with a facial which was very relaxing.

There is no rush or urgency at the spa. All the staff were friendly and more than happy to help with any queries. They were always smiling too and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. We were told to relax and chill out - which we most definitely did.

I'd recommend this to everybody and I really hope to go back again and have different treatments.

Enjoyed an absolutely wonderful relaxing day at Owl House Spa just after christmas which was perfect! The spa is absolutely beautiful and unique with a french shabby chic design throughout. It was luxurious but relaxing at the same time with all the staff being extremely friendly and attentive. Lunch was served in an individual wicker traditional picnic basket which was lovely, and I was able to eat in a relaxation room which was less formal and nicer for me.
The treatments were all lovely and the staff do a thorough consulatation beforehand to ensure you get the most out of the treatment.
I would recommend this place 100% and will definitely be returning in the not so distant future with my hubby next time.

Had a wonderful day at the Spa. As soon as we walked in we felt welcome and well looked after. The treatments were out of this world, think I drifted off to sleep at one point.
There is huge attention to detail throughout the whole Spa and you really feel special when you are there. It is quite a small place however this is what makes the experience so much nicer. Will definitely be returning.

What a waste of petrol time and money! My daughter took me here for my birthday as a treat. Facilities..non existent, staff..unresponsive, and the food was appalling!!
We wernt given times for our treatments or lunch, the therapists came and got us when they were ready for us, and then left us in a room with a small pot of mud to put on ourselves, not really worth paying for it as it was supposed to be made up for your skin type, only the therapist who made it up hadnt even seen us.
Lunch..my daughter is a coeliac, and asked for food to be provided which she was told wasnt a problem. She asked for tomato soup 3 days before our trip, only to be told they couldnt get tomato soup. We were given small pots of food that had been reheated in a microwave infront of us. Not really a problem as we thought it was included in the price.
We decided as there was nothing to do we would get dressed and go home straight after lunch. We came to pay for our coffees, and were advised that we had to pay for lunch, didnt think it would be very expensive..as we had had reheated pots, a bottle of water and a meringue. £15 each!!!! Plus a coffee, tea and 1 muffin..total £35.05..i can definatley say we wont be returning and i wont be recommending!

I went to the spa with a friend as a treat and what a wonderful day. The facilities are top class, the ambiance was perfect for an extremely calm and relaxing day. The hot tub was great fun, especially with the added glass of bubbly! The staff were thoroughly professional and friendly. We had pre booked treatments but on arrival asked for further treatments. We were a little pushed for time but the members of staff were very accommodating and shuffled the day around so we could fit them in.

The spa itself is in a beautiful setting and the decor was just perfect. Each relaxing room allowed for total enjoyment, peace and quiet and a little opportunity for a snooze!

All three treatments were fabulous. The facial was thorough and relaxing, the pig in mud experience was unusual and the back massage was fantastic. The therapists were professional and the treatments were completed to a really high standard.

All in all, we both had a wonderful day, despite it being some distance from where i live, i wouldn't hesitiate to visit again. Well done.

The Owl House Day Spa is amazing. As soon as you walk in it's completely relaxing and the staff are so welcomng. The Pig in Mud treatment was my favourite, the steam chamber is private and nothing is rushed. The Aromatherapy back massage was also fantastic, as was the Head and Scalp massage. I liked that you can choose which ols the therapist uses and what they can help with, e.g. stress and lethargy.
The spa smells wonderful, no matter what room you're in, and the relaxation rooms with bean bags are inspired. The hot tub was clean and the jets really helped us to relax. I will definitely be signing up for membership.

Wow! What a great place! Myself & 3 friends went & had an amazing time. The decor, the smells, the food, the atmosphere were all fantastic but what stood out most of all was the wonderful friendly, caring & helpful staff. Hope to see more Wahanda deals for the Owl House as we definitely want to return. What an amazing place! The only thing missing was a pool but I was told plans are in place .

The owl house spa experience was fantastic, such great value for money! This was a really brilliant way to wile away a Saturday with a great friend. The staff were so lovely and very accommodating, we felt well looked after by all the staff we came across. The fact that the spa is quite small means that there is great attention to detail in all areas and you never feel forgotten. The ladies working there genuinely seem to love their jobs and I felt like nothing you asked them was too much trouble. There is a nice array of treatments and all the rooms feel very luxurious. Could not have been happier with this experience!
