This place is an absolute disgrace and should not be allowed to call themselves experienced.
Firstly, I firmly believe the woman who does the facials has not got a clue what she is doing. Having had some experience and training in the past myself I thought it would be nice to let someone else do it for me and lie back and enjoy the experience. HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN.......to start with all I could smell was really strong spices as I entered the room, as she started my facial I then realised the smell was from her hands, it was disgusting, I was almost gagging, then as she worked on my face she proceeded to close both my nostrils at the same time on a few occasions and I couldn't breath. The products are not very nice also. Also, she never said a word all the way through. She also did some things that should not be included in any facial I have heard of......she proceeded to cover both my eyes with her hands then play peekaboo with one hand at a time.....really!!!...omg what is that all about. I still had a massage to book but that is a definite no no, I wont be going back.

Morning, I have been going to the saloon 2 or 3 times a month, a friend highly recommoned Theresa as an " AMAZING FANTISTIC HAIRDRESSER " I have got to agree with her 100% my hair wasn't in the best of condition, I explained this to Theresa, who then advised me what she would do to help get my hair into a better condition.
Theresa cut 4 inches of my hair after highlighting it I was so please with it, family and friends have all commented on the condition of my hair now, I would highly recommoned Theresa to anyone, such a friendly lady with a bubbly personality who always makes you feel relaxed, your certianly safe in her hands!!!

THIS SALON ESPECIALLY IS APPALLING!! The one on Albert Road is somewhat better - but not by much!!

I rang this salon for FOUR DAYS before they finally got round to answering the telephone call.

The staff have quite an attitude, do not even acknowledge you when you go in, point to a chair in the middle of the salon and tell you to 'sit there' whilst talking to other people. Do not even tell you they are running late, until you ask when you are likely to be seen. Tell you they are too busy and to make another appointment!!!

THEN pull faces at the other waiting customers bacause I said it was a very poor service.

It does seem to survive on Groupon type voucher deals which I am presuming put enormous pressure on the staff???

I can't imagine anyone would pay full price for this salon, it is horrendous!!!

That's ashame Ive never had a bad hairstyle done at Park road ... Granted the staff are under pressure ..the only down side is that the stylist had to on more than one occasion answer the phone although it probably took a little longer Tes always kept a smile on her face & hair was great ! I will defo be booking again .

have to agree with all of this. My hair cut was actually good but the woman who cut it was texting someone, answered the main phone and talked to other staff, she had NO idea whatsoever how to treat valuable customers- she also pulled my hair really badly as she was blow drying- I think she may have been the manager, older and scarier than the younger girls. Probably the worst customer service I've ever come across.

I can only agree, but I was attended by possibly the manager..older lady, texted, answered main phone and talked to other staff rather than pay attention to the customer, so maybe all of the staff arent like that. My hair was pulled badly whilst being blown dried, I actually was shocked by the couldnt care less attitude. The beautician washed my hair and it was her I left my tip with, she was very pleasant.

Ive been a few times , took advantage of special offers on group on but ended up booking direct with the salon so i didn't have to be stuck into an expiry date or print the voucher and luckily i got a great deal anyway!
Iv had a full body massage which I was over the moon with, went in feeling stressed and tense and left feeling elated after lying listening to soothing music surrounded by candles and feeling my body say goodbye to all the tension! Beauty therapist was so polite and approachable she helped me with a couple skin concerns I had as well as answering a few questions, she really knew her stuff. I also had a bouncy blow-dry on a friday late afternoon for a night out and my curls stayed in all night :-) as well as my roots touched up followed by a cut and blow dry. Hairdressers are a range of ages and were polite, chatty and generally seemed interested in me and my weekend etc. Iv always been looked after, glass of water after the massage and teas and coffees and magazines while getting my hair done.

Only thing i would say is that it would be helpful if they had products on sale as i always like to buy hair products that work well on my hair/skin.

Experienced a facial for £15. A busy salon with a fair bit of noise but did not notice once in the treatment room. All the staff were friendly and attentive, the therapist was great and the facial was very relaxing. Would definitely go back.

Excellent value for money!!
Iv been a couple times to Oceanic and I have nothing bad to say about the place, there is all new staff and you can tell this has made a difference. Girls are friendly, down to earth and very good at their jobs.
Iv had my hair cut and highlighted twice, a full body massage and a pedicure and facial. Iv always left with a smile on my face, whether you are needing pampered or a hair makeover you can not beat this place on value for money!

Relaxation treatments are so good i leave feeling like I'm walking on air!

This was the worst salon I have ever been. I bought a 30 pound voucher from groupon and arrived on saturday afternoon. Staff were rude upon arrival. Inoticed that all customers were holding vouchers, i later discovered why!I spent time with the hairdresser discussing that I was doing copper_blonde highlights for the first time so was looking for advice in type of colour that would match my already blond with highlights hair. Offered advice and explained that we will do two colours one copper and one blonde,so that the result would be a good combination. During the highlights application the two women did not seem very confident and one of them kept asking the other which colour is she putting on. After they washed my hair the result was horrendous, I had RED highlights in the front and a mixture of red and blond in the rest of the head, no light copper at all. I explained I did not like the result and the staff member held saying that it is nice, this is what I asked for,and that there is also blond apart from red in the front. I asked for a toner and she refused repeatedly saying that she did not have time; she did not even offer me an appt the next day. Manager was there with similar attitude. I also had to pay an extra 10 pounds for the blond colour which was scarce.. Very unsatisfied, I still cannot believe that they were so rude.

Been to the westend salon a few times - fab service, fab girls, fab haircut.

Only small complaint is because they're always using the vouchers, can be anything up to 3 weeks for appointment.

I bought a voucher on Amazon Local for this place which included 2 treatments for £20. The treatments could include a massage, mini facial, manicure etc. Anyway i called the salon up to book an appointment using my voucher. I called twice and the phone wrang out, third time lucky a young girl answered the phone and i proceeded to ask if i could book an appointment using my voucher. To which the girl (a worker in the salon) replied " i dont know anything about that voucher, phone back tomorrow when someone else is in."
Tomorrow came and i called again and again had to call around 4 times to be told again they didnt know anything about it.
I eventually got my mum to call as i was getting frustrated and annoyed by the way i was being spoke to on the phone.
After a while i managed to get booked in for a Mini facial and an aromatherapy massage.

On the day...
I arrived at the salon around 10 mins before my appointment. First impressions were ok. The main part is a hair salon and it is noisy with hairdryers and they have a tv on the wall that the treatment rooms are on blasting out music channels.
I wasnt even acknowledged when i went in at first and just sat on the couch and waited. 10 mins later a woman came from the back room and took me into the treatment room. I was a little concerned as the room was small with nothing in it besides a treatment bed... I have never had a massage in a room like this before.

The Treatments..
The woman was greek and could barely speak any english. The room was very noisy from the hairdryers and all i could here over the top of the relaxing usic was the uk top 40 charts from the tv!! She started my facial and kept talking to me in broken english throughout. Wasnt very relaxing. She caked the products on my face and kept closing both my nostrils at the same time with her fingers so i was gasping for air. I had product right up my nose because used far too much and she was sticking spounges up my nose to try clean out my nostrils - Clearly she was not well trained, or even trained at all. My face felt like a sticky mess when she was finished. I have had numerous facials before but this has by far been the worst.

The massage was, well.. not even a massage in my books. She rubbed whole lot of oil over my body starting with my feet. I had a little towel covering me, baring in mind i was almost naked and the room was so cold.It wasnt pleasant and she kept talking the whole way through and i couldnt understand her and she couldnt understand me.

When i got up to leave i asked her if that was me finished and she kept saying "i dont understand" and nodding.

Definitley wont be back here, i could do a better job myself, im glad i didnt pay full price as i would be demandin a refund for this rubbish!!

My daughter had a very similar unpleasant experience at this place. Its an absolute disgrace that amazon is using such a horrible place to sell vouchers to people.
I am appalled that they are still selling vouchers to people as this person is very inexperienced at what she is doing, my daughter was almost gagging from the smell of spices from her hands while she was having her facial and couldn't breath on a few occasions due to the stupid woman closing both her nostrils at the same time. The products used did not smell nice either. My daughter couldn't get out quick enough, it was horrendous. She was supposed to go back for a massage but there will be no chance of that. What a waste of money.

Do not use this salon!

Yesterday I had an appointment at 1.30pm at the West End Oceanic salon for a One Hour Swedish or Aromatherapy Massage plus Mini Herbal Facial. This treatment was a Groupon voucher.

I arrived at the salon on time at 1.30pm to be told to sit and wait for the therapist. Whilst doing this, I had time to notice how grubby the salon was. At 1.40pm (10 minutes late), the therapist came out of the treatment room, informed me I 'just had to wait' and took a lady with wet hair (she had been having her hair coloured) into the treatment room. No explanation or apology was offered. At this point, I asked to use the toilet and was appalled at how dirty and scruffy both the toilet and back area were.

By this time it was 1.50pm and there was still no sign of the therapist. At this point, as a result of the lack of communication, the tardiness of the therapist and the grubbiness of the salon, I decided to leave.

I use Groupon a lot for massages and facials and this was by far the worse salon I have encountered.

In an attempt to remedy the situation, I would expect the amount of the voucher to be refunded into my account. I have also sent an exact copy of this email to Groupon suggesting they do not promote this salon in the future.

I have rated the venue but cannot rate the treatments as I did not stay long enough to experience one! I suggest both Groupon and prospective clients avoid this salon in future.

The letter I have sent to the salon:

On the 26th September I bought a Groupon deal for your salon for a 1 hour massage and 45 min deep cleansing facial worth £70 but for the Groupon price of £25. My friend booked us both in for the treatments one after the other for Monday 22nd October at the West End salon. This was all arranged in advance, we both took annual leave days off work and had planned to make an evening of it after the treatments with me staying the night at my friend's as I live 32 miles from Glasgow. I was just getting ready to leave the house on the Monday morning when my friend called saying that someone from your salon had just called her to apologise because although we were both booked in for that day, they had made a mistake as the therapist didn't work on a Monday! They apologised and even though my friend explained how disappointed she was and that we had both now taken a wasted annual leave day off work they didn't offer any compensation or additional treatment. I was very disappointed and also had a wasted annual leave day.

My friend went for her treatment separately after that and I booked for another date in December before the expiry of the deal. I called your salon the day before and explained that my Mum was unwell in hospital and was being discharged the following day (the day of my treatments) and asked if I would be able to change my appointment as I would have preferred to have been there with her. I explained that if it wasn't possible I would still attend the treatments and also explained that the expiry date was 21st December. Bear in mind if they had said 'no' that I would have still gone. However, they said of course, that's fine and were really nice about it, agreeing to change it to the 9th January. So it was booked for yesterday.

When I arrived yesterday the receptionist took the Groupon voucher and invited me into the therapy room and told me to remove my clothing and get under the blankets etc. I did this and waited a while, longer than I would have expected. Eventually the receptionist came back and said they can't do the treatments as the voucher has expired. I explained that the person on the phone who had rearranged the appointment knew this. Bear in mind I currently feel humilited lying almost naked trying to half sit up and have a discussion. An argument ensues and I bring up what happened with the previous booking with my friend which was entirely the salons fault and although the receptionist apologised she said 'that's right the therapist doesn't work on a Monday'!!

The receptionist went away to talk to someone and came back explaining that she's spoken to the manager and said all you can do for me is to give me the treatments at the same offer price I have already paid. I asked to speak to the manager but the receptionist said the manager is not in the branch. I ask what branch she works in knowing there are another 2 so I can contact her. She said the manager doesn't work in any branch. She goes away to call manager again since I've said the person on the phone said it was fine to rearrange it and I wouldn't have done it otherwise. 'They shouldn't have. Do you know who you spoke to?' I know I should get names on the phone but not when rearranging an appoinment! I ask what price they'll give me it for now. She said £70 because that's what it says on front of the voucher as the 'Groupon value' . I showed her my Groupon account where I've paid £25, the hairdresser who is also working in the salon overheard and agrees is was £25. I also explained the previous incident re the Monday booking to hairdresser and on this the hairdresser tells the receptionist to call the manager again and explain that the previous problem that was their fault and says that 'she's sure it'll be accepted for today because they've done that before'.

I waited in the treatment room while the receptionist phoned the manager, by this time fully dressed and very angry, until she came back and said I definitely can't get the treatments. She apologised but says there's nothing else she can do. Again I ask to speak to the manager but she said I cannot but she will take my number and get the manager to call me. I ask if the manager will definitely call and she says that she can't make any promises! She won't give me managers number or any way to contact her. I ask who is the next in seniority below the manager so I can contact them and she seems unsure saying no one, but when pushed eventually says someone senior is in this salon but off today, back tomorrow. Again she explains there is nothing they can do. She didn't mention again me paying the £25 today for the treatments which I probably would have done but by now was too angry and unrelaxed for any treatments. I managed to make it to the car before bursting into tears - I just felt so angry, humiliated, embarrassed, waste of money and time. I had travelled all the way from Stirling for this and now not only have I not had my treatments but I am £25 out of pocket and have had TWO wasted days due to your salon.

Although the receptionist said she'd ask the manager to call me the same day I still have not had a phone call from you by the afternoon of the following day.

***Also, if you want a relaxing massage don't go here. The treatment room is separated from the hair salon only by a door so can hear hairdryers etc. When I was lying there today it wasn't so relaxing as although they have massage music on it's competing with loud Rhianna music and a hairdryer, luckily only one, wouldn't want to go on a Saturday!
