Newcastle City Jitsu Club was re-established in 2005, and is the newest club of our style in the North East of England. The club is part of a tight knit group of jitsu clubs that have been established locally since the 1990s. This means, regionally, there is a large pool of talent for training, covering a wide age range (from 10 year olds to 50-something!), as well as a wide range of fitness levels!
Additionally, you will make new friends in the club, from all walks of life, and we have regular club socials to get to know who you've been training with.
We are a non-profit club, and our National Governing Body is non-profit too. Our instructors have full time jobs, and teach purely because they enjoy it and want others to benefit from Jitsu, as a result our training sessions are some of the cheapest around. Our instructors are all fully insured to train, and possess Professional Liability Insurance for their teaching, and are CRB checked.
We encourage our club members to put something back into the community, and in recent years the local clubs have raised money for a wide range of charities including The Percy Headley foundation, Cancer Research UK, the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease and Help for Heroes. This sense of contributing to society fosters a sense of responsibility which goes hand in hand with the self development aspect of martial arts.
Our style is the most widely practised style of Jiu Jitsu in the UK and our national competition in November is the largest single-style martial arts competition in the UK.
We are a welcoming Wallsend based club, come along and say "Hi!" we are a friendly bunch of people. Any parents bringing their children are actively encouraged to join in the training, rather than just watch from the sidelines, who knows you might have fun too!
