New Vision Hypnotherapy and Coaching

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Clinical hypnotherapist and counsellor offering a confidential and professional service to individuals of all ages. My work with people can be either short or long term depending on what best suits a persons individual need. I use a fusion of different theoretical approaches, including Person Centred, Solution Focussed , and Hypno Analysis, and NLP motivational coaching approaches.

I have worked with a wide range of issues, including self confidence issues , mild depression/anxiety and loss. As a integrative hypnotherapist and counsellor, this means I am interested in listening to you and endeavouring to work alongside you to explore how past experiences, maybe impacting your life today. The therapist doesn’t tell you what to do, or give advice, instead, the therapeutic alliance can help you to find the space to make your own choices , facilitate personal growth, and overcome blocks. There is no particular point in life when people turn towards therapy, but it is often when confronted by some sense of not being able to move forward, or change feeling stuck. Significant events such as bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, questioning who one is or feeling unable to get over past events are common reasons for seeking a therapist. My personal philosophy begins with the belief that people have a right to be valued as unique individuals. My primary aim is to work alongside you in a way that helps you to identify obstacles in your life, facilitating growth and allowing you to choose ways of responding to the challenges of life that are healthy and more fulfilling.

It's a big decision to make that first appointment with a counsellor. It's a decision to make a change, it's the start of a journey into self reflection and development - something I've always avoided doing. So when I had my first session with Melody - even though she had reassured me throughout our correspondence prior to the appointment - I was still somewhat terrified. However, within minutes of being in Melody's presence, I was wondering why I'd gotten myself so worked up! Her warm, gentle and humorous manner is what allowed me to open up and talk. She doesn't lead, push or conform to the cliché "So how does that make you feel?" after everything I say. I felt she was genuinely engaged in what I had to say, I found her thought provoking and her lovely sense of humour diffused any moments where I felt awkward or anxious about what I was saying.
Thus my journey began and as it turns out, it's wasn't so terrifying after all. I'm glad I decided to make a change in my life and not just 'put up' with how things were. To have had Melody to support me on my journey has been invaluable, I now feel I'm finally on the path being a more confident and resilient individual.

I saw melody for Mindful Hypnobirthing with Mindful mamma. My husband thought i was off my rocker as he put it to consider Hypnosis for childbirth. His family are all doctors, and they were skeptical too. Thankfully, my mother had seen a now retired hypnotherapist years ago to stop smoking, and then to help with insomnia. My mothers belief in hypnotherapy , and my own interest swayed me to "deviate from convention" against a back drop of my (well meaning) in laws, a father and brother in law doctor, and a cousin whose a midwife. I put all of this aside, as I'd had such a traumatic birth 4 years ago with my beautiful daughter. I had do something different. During the workshop, my husband was able to experience hypnosis. He went all victor meldrewy- he couldn't believe it was such a natural state. The workshop was fun, and informative. The workshop show birthing partners peaceful relaxation scripts to read to their partners. While we both giggled at first to statements such as "I acknowledge and trust the innate wisdom of my body for me and my blossoming baby" the more we did it, it really took seed (literally) in my mind.

well - im happy to say, On aug 1st, I had my beautiful baby boy free from pain killers naturally as my body was designed to just as the workshop taught me. The mindful affirmations kicked in, and I don't know how to describe it- other than I just went into a zone- and birthed our baby breath by breath, I pictured a budding flower opening......

While some of the in laws say it was a fluke/placebo - I don't believe it to be. And if its good enough for Kate - it's good for me. My sister is pregnant with her first and she's going to do Hypnobirthing with melody. To say I'm in gratitude- is putting it mildly :))a great book mentioned on the workshop is by the Doctor Sarah Buckley ; gentle birth, gentle mothering"
This will relay fears, it's by a medical profession , and a mother.

Very impressed! I had a combination of Hypno-psychotherapy. I was highly stressed for so long, I just didn't know how to switch off. I saw melody, and she showed me how to go into self hypnosis, let go and unwind even in stressful situations. The audios Melody provides are very soothing to listen to. I've even gone into self hypnosis on a busy noisy bus.! Self hypnosis has allowed me to tune in to my subconscious, and find ways to solve issues. The additional resources and email links, and articles Melody provides are very insightful. One of the. Questions she asks: " What’s chronic, repetitive, or inflamed in your inner or outer life?"
That really got me thinking- and I am initiating many positive changes in my life. Oh and she's really nice- and funny too :)

When I first told my friends I was going to see a hypnotherapist to conquer my fear of flying- boy did they let me have it !! They said all the "look into my eyes" , swinging pendulum jokes etc. it bothered me so much, I almost cancelled my first appointment. Thankfully I didn't ! I was able to fly to Australia to see my son, and granddaughter for the first time. I've been gripped by the fear of flying for 20 years, ever since a traumatic flight. Melody was able to relay my nerves very quickly. I felt very at ease- and there was not a pendulum in sight, I just can't believe it- nor can my wife and friends! After 2 sessions, I was got past my fears. Very happy to recommend Melody's approach.

I was quiet an anxious person always getting nervous not just about new things but things i knew and would still get anxiety, my friend used hypnotherapy to give up smoking and that was 5 months ago so thought I would try hypnotherapy and found this place, which is gorgeous. The hypnotherapist was amazing really considerate knew exactly what to do and made me feel at ease right away, it obviously takes more than one visit but I will definitely be going back as i feel changes already and the price for a life change is not very much at all.

My friends encouraged me to see a counsellor last year , and admittedly, I was highly skeptical to say the least. I took a chance, when I met Melody, my fears and doubts quickly evaporated. Melody was very calm, supportive , and empathic from the outset. I felt safe in being able to talk through my then concerns. I didn't feel judged, given that I clam up at times, during the sessions my words were able to flow. I was able to explore deeper understanding of my struggles. Melody helped me gain new perspectives in a creative way, sometimes with handouts, or using guided imagery which was very relaxing. I feel more strengthened, I feel more in control. I believe counselling really allowed me to find what was within me already.

Thanks so much :))
