I purchased the voucher over the internet, for highlights, cut and blowdry which was very quick and easy to do.
The staff were very welcoming on arrival to the salon and remained kind and considerate throughtout mine and my daughters appointment.
The salon itself was very spacious, clean and warm. 5 minute walk from the train station.
The staff were constantly offering beverages and making you feel special.
They gave professional advise on which hair colours would blend with your natural colour and tips for managing our highlights/new style.
Our hair styles were cut to a high standard and remained in shape for 6 weeks.
The whole experince was very enjoyable and we have already booked our next appointments

Well, as soon as me and my friend came into the studio we were treated in a rude manner, we felt rushed and the staff explicitly made clear that they had hardly any time to style and colour our hair. (Is this our fault?). Then when we were choosing which hair colour we wanted we were given hardly any time to do this and within a few minutes they mentioned again that they had hardly any time and that we had to quickly decide what we wanted, which made us feel not welcome. Then the hair stylist Paul Davies pulled at my hair very harshly, I even told him it was hurting, ignoring this he also did not listen to how I wanted my hair to be cut and just chopped my hair so quickly and cut it shorter than what I wanted. Paul was very rude and treated us in a bad manner. Another client who came in before us also told us she had just experienced the same treatment from Paul. Other than this the makeup artists were very friendly and made sure we were satisfied with our look. I have never been treated this way and the treatment was ridiculous.

I brought an offer off KGB for a half head hi-lights with cut and conditioning treatment. I was booked in with Charlie, who turned out to be very friendly, chatty and full of ideas and compliments.

I was very pleased with my whole experience.

I went and got a makeover after I got back from my holiday and was uploading my pictures and looked at myself during the evening shots and I looked like something off the rocky horror show and my hair looked like it was fresh out of last decade!
I simple search on google got me to New ID and then I headed off to their special offer pace and there was a great deal for a Deluxe makeover and photoshoot in Birmingham, that is only just down the road from me.
When I had a look into that that included I was amazed to find that it not only included hair and makeup and the photographer it also included free drinks and a free picture, I have no idea how they do it for that price but there was no way that I was going to miss out on it. I had had a look at the picture prices and found them fair enough so I booked it.
I got to New ID around ten am, it the salon was very busy so they gave me some forms to fill in and then half an hour later they came to start my makeover I was thinking here we go it is going to be a lot of waiting around all day but it was not it was pretty seamless from then on in and it went really well.
I was really happy with what they did with my hair and my makeup, I got an attack of nerves when I stepping into the photo shoot room, I could feel myself going really red and to be honest I wanted to be sick, I was so scared that one of the girls had to have her picture taken with me the first couple just to get me over my nerves but it was great the way that they dealt with me and in the end they could not get me away from the camera.
I had such a great time and now I have some pictures I can feel really proud of!

Really loved the make-up and ended up buying some even though it was expensive and I had no intention of doing so before the session.
Good to have one to one tuition even if the make-up skills were a little advanced for me.

I went on a bank holiday so the salon was pretty empty which was nice. We agreed on a colour for my hair but the final outcome was a little different to what I expected and the hair dye was left all over my scalp when I walked out the salon. It took me about 6 washes to get it off my scalp which was pretty annoying. Other than that once the colour washed out a bit I started to really like the colour and the cut was fine. Overall I might consider going back but would ask the stylist to be careful of my scalp!

I had a very different experience at New ID to this one. I thought the salon was really nice. I arrived about 10am and a lovely girl greeted me and booked me in. She was really nice and gave me lots of information about makeup and hair and what would be going on that day. First off I had my hair done and they did a lovely cut that suits my face perfectly. I had a great blow dry and set, not too much product either but it stayed in pace for the whole shoot. Only ten minutes after that was done I went and had my makeup done and that looked really great as well. Then I stopped for breath to have a Bucks Fizz cocktail and it was straight off into the photoshoot. The salon was old but it was clean and nicely decorated and I thought it was very well laid out. I had plenty of time to chose the shots that I wanted and did not get any hassle of anybody about anything. The cost of the shots wad laid out there were no hidden costs and it was all fine. I would be happy to go here again and happy to recommend it to anybody who fancies a bit of a spruce up and a very nice few hours in a warm and friendly environment.

Can I ask you judging by the site it looks like 5 photos on a cd is £400. Am I right in thinking if i was to pay £200 as a deposit then they double your money so you effectively have then £400 to spend ? Which would get me a cd with 5 prints? I was thinking of doing this then going elsewhere to have one/ two printed onto canvas .

Having had the deluxe makeover experience with New ID I would say that this deal so far is one of the best value for money experiences that I have had. I loved being at New ID and got a very warm welcome from all of the staff. I think for hair and makeup and a photo session and a private viewing session and a free print and endless free drinks this is possibly one of the best fifty pounds that I have ever spent. I was incredibly impressed with all of the salon staff who clearly love their jobs and that makes for a really great atmosphere. The makeup range is fantastic and I am looking forward to building up my own collection as well as going back for a makeup lesson. I have always thought I was pretty good at putting the old slap on but boy did it look tones better when they did it. I also loved the hair dressing part of this to the point where I will not go anywhere else from now on to get my haircut. The photographer I had was very encouraging and I felt completely comfortable with him, even when I decided that I would go for the lingerie shots that I was unsure about before. The prints are not cheap but very high quality and I for one though this was a great service all round.

New ID when you go to see them for a makeover certainly give you a makeover. For me they did lovely hair, lovely makeup, made lovely pictures gave me lots of lovely free glasses of bucks fizz and an all round very lovely time indeed. I was there for four hours and loved it. I think it would be really nice if they gave you clothes to wear as well so you get a totally new look. I didn’t really know what to take along and took way too much stuff. They told me that I could have four outfits max for the shoot, I think I had enough for about ten. But I was hoping they would give me some advice about what to wear. I think they were too busy to do that but I have nothing to complain about they gave me the most amazing makeover experience I could have asked for and one day soon I guarantee that I am going to go again.

I was such a happy bunny having my makeover with New ID I really loved it and would go again without a second thought. It was such a great way to spend a wet and windy Thursday afternoon and put me in such a good mood. I think we have all needed cheering up after all of this awful weather it was like having a ray of sunshine. I had a spray tan four days before I went because did not want to have shots of me looking pale and pasty and vile. It worked out really well and you can not tell at all in the shots that it is spray. The salon staff made me feel very welcome and also very important. I liked the way they discussed everything with me before they did it so I felt very much in control of what was going on. I am sure some people would just like to turn themselves over into the hands of the staff and not want to be that involved but I personally think that is lovely that you get the option. For me the hair and makeup we chose together was superb and I have never felt of looked so good! The shots came out far better than I could have ever hoped for and I was really proud of all of them even though I could not afford to buy all of them. I would not hesitate to chose New ID again if I wanted a makeover and I would like to try both their beauty on the go and the makeup lesson some time in future.

I attended New Id in Birmingham with my daughter and her best friend and her mum. When we arrived the entrance hall is part of a filthy looking office block. The studio is on the 2nd floor and the lift is not working. On arrival receptionist was friendly we were lead into a waiting room. We waited in there for half an hour before the girls went though to hair studio. At no point were we offered any refreshments. Both girls happy with there hair. Then back to the waiting room for another 30 min waiting for makeup. Again both girls happy with makeup. Back to the waiting room for 30 mins before into the studio. Studio was old and dirty.. the rattan drop down for photos initially looked ok but in the photos look old and scratched. The white steps and the white circle to sit in all scratched. One good thing photographer Chaz was great .. After photos finished back to waiting room for another 1 hr to wait to choose photo. During this time the table in the waiting area was so full of dirty take away cups looked like bus station depot waiting room.. Eventually lovely girl called Mia showed us our photos. Although some of the photos were good the backdrop or props were so old and scratched they ruined some of the pictures. Pricing was a joke £40/£50 for 4 x 7 photo.. Or £299 for 6 photos on disc.. Mia tried hard to sell photos but in fairness could see we had all had enough and eventually upgraded our free photo to a larger size. Without Mia and Chaz this whole experience would have been a nightmare.. Wouldn't return as whole place needs knocking down and redecorating and CLEANING !!!!

Same here...I was surprised at the state of the place lift not working when we visited we arrived at half 1 and left half past nine at night, I wasn't happy with the hair as I'd asked for beach curls and I feel I could have done a better job on my makeup the beautician also had bad breath (I saw her after chuffing on a cigarette) we visited the end of July and as much as we were happy with Mia I now can't get in touch with her ad we have began payments but not received our photos I don't want to complain and get her into trouble but I don't feel I'm left with much option if she won't return our calls. I had a really amazing hair cut, make-up and photo session with New ID. I really enjoyed myself and I was so impressed with my makeup that I purchased quite a few of the products that they used that day and I have received so many compliments about how good my hair and makeup looks since I have been it was more than worth the fifty pounds I spent on the voucher and the staggering five hundred I spent on the totally amazing pictures. I am going to go back there just to have my hair done again because it’s never looked as good as it looks now and I have never found a hairdresser that has made my hair look so illustrious. I got some amazing pictures done in their studio and I don't usually photograph very well so that's some good skills by the photographer. All of the staff were all very skilled and did a good job, they were also very friendly and hospitable - I got offered lots of drinks while I was there. I could have drunk Bucks Fizz the whole time but I felt a bit drunk after only one so I stuck to the tea. Totally loved the way they do the makoever you can get really involved with how you end up looking and give your input and also what I think is really important is how you come away with skills you didn’t have when you went in, so you have actually learnt about the products and your skin and how to look after it and not just had one day looking great and its over and done with.
New ID for me totally changed the way I do my make-up. I am really happy that I chose New ID, I am really glad I now have a fantastic hair dresser that I can trust and I am sure I will use them in the future for another photosession because it was so much fun and I loved the pictures

My best friend and I are born in the same week and love to do things to celebrate together, we always have done!
We have both wanted a makeover for ages so when it was our 30th birthday coming up we decided to go for it.
New ID were chosen by us because we both really liked the website, there are some really cool video clips on there that really get you in the mood for having a makeover.
We found a deal on the website where you can double the money you have to spend on pictures by making the deposit before you go so we went for that deal.
We had a really nice lady do our makeup, she used quite natural tones on both of us but gave us both the smoky eyes that we wanted.
The hairdressers are great and we both went for long wavy hair as we both have pretty straight hair naturally and both really love a few curls and waves.
We both excepted to feel really self conscious in the photo session but we were great because the photo guy was really good fun and down to earth and he made it really easy for us to relax and enjoy the photo session.
It was impossible to chose from the amazing shots. We spent ages in there to the point I think we kept all of the other customers waiting but we felt it was really important to make the right choice, we wont know until the pictures arrive but I think we did make the right choice and we are really glad that we chose New ID

I could not fault the service at New ID. I had such an amazing time. The whole thing went without a hitch and I would recommend this company to anybody. For a start the website has some really great deals on it and they come at all sorts of different prices so no matter what your budget is you are going to be fine. The next thing is that you can get a roll over deal where you put down money for prints before you go and then they match it so that gives you twice as much to spent. It is easy to book and the salon is great. The staff are wonderful and ultra talented and I could not have been happier with my hair and my makeup. The salon is also clean which for me is important. The shoot was great, I loved every second of that and even though I was warned when I booked that there could be long delays in between treatments I did not experience any. The makeup was great the hair products are awesome and I just dug the whole thing. The photographer worked miracles and I have never been more proud of my look. Nothing at all would put me off going back to this salon or recommending it to anybody else.

Totally loved my New ID Celebrity makeover and photoshoot with New ID. The day started off well and was great right through until the end. It is easy to book. Lots of information on the website. Terms and conditions are fair and there are no hidden costs. The staff are all really sweet. The salon is clean and the décor is really cool. The haircut I got was wonderful. The makeup was a bit heavy but really good and I looked amazing in the pictures. the viewing session was relaxed and free of all hard sell and I though the content of the pictures was wonderful. There were so many to chose from and the choosing bit was the only non relaxing part of the day. The rest of it was really laid back and it was a lovely environment to spend a few hours in. I love the fact that you can buy a voucher for this experience because it makes a really lovely gift idea. I have brought three vouchers as gifts since I went and the three recipients have loved it just as much as I did. It does take up to two months of your pictures to arrive, that is the only bit that I didn’t really understand but they are top quality and worth waiting for.

I got a voucher from Wahanda for a wash, cut and blow dry including a welcome drink and a head massage. Well what can I say, booking was the first challenge, very few dates seemed to be available and was difficult to get an appointment. When I went for the hair cut I wasn't offered a welcome drink, I was rushed in and given probably the worst ever hair wash I have ever had. He got shampoo in my eyes and was really rough. Next the hair cut....well I have been to lots of different places in my time but I have never had my hair cut like this. He didn't cut my hair in stages he just literally got the scissors and cut round in a straight line. The blow dry didn't make my hair look smooth and no heat protection product was put on. He burnt my scalp with the hairdryer and in the end I just wanted to get out of there. To top it all off, when I got home I could see my hair hadn't been cut straight. Truly appalling experience. I know I was on a voucher but I thought they would at least give me an experience that would make me want to come back.

I had the Global Keratin treatment here as I thought for £59 it was a bargain. I have had several Keratin treatments in the past so had experienced my frizzy naturally curly hair tamed by this treatment which lasted for several months at a time before. This treatment at Burlingtons however did not give me the same results I have experienced before... it only marginally smoothed my hair... I also had different information from the 2 stylists who worked on my hair, one saying I could wash my hair the same day and the other saying I had to wait the usual 3 days. I waited the 3 days just in case and also used the recommended shampoo and conditioner. This treatment was a waste of time and money and I wish I hadn't bothered.

i feel that i have to write this review due to the absolutely dreadful day i had at New ID studios in birmingham yesterday

first impressions were not good. i was stood outside for ages waiting to be let in through the intercom. the building itself it dark and dismal inside and also rather worringly the lift doesnt work! not good when you have bags full of clothes to change into that you have to lug up 4 flights of stairs. there was one poor lady waiting upstairs who told her it took half an hour to get up the stairs as she had 2 walking sticks.

my appointment was at 10.30. i was told it could take half a day (max. 4 hours so they say) i ended up leaving at 6.45pm after literally spending most of the day waiting! firstly when we got there i waited an hour to get my make up done, the brushes werent clean and my make up ended up blotchy on the one side so i had to ask them to re-do it.they try to sell you the cosmetics that are their 'own brand'. If you are into trowelling on make up then fair enough but thank god for good lighting is all i can say as my god i had layers of cack on my face!!!! it is also hideously over priced!

after that i then had to wait another hour to get my hair done. in fairness the girl who did my hair was fab and it did look amazing! so all credit to her. i then had to wait until 2pm to go into shoot. in the middle of all this i was hungry but got told i couldnt leave as it would ruin my hair! bearing in mind i though i would have been neartly done by then i hadnt taken any food with me. going back to the poor lady on the sticks, i was talking to her and she told me she was in theory trapped as she couldnt go to get lunch as it would knacker her out getting down and up again and she wouldnt be back in time for whenver they could possibly call her. she was also told that she was given no prior warning that the lift wasnt working. the only reason she said she stayed was because she had been unwell and the day had been brought for her as a gift. she had been there since 9.30 as well!!!!! None of us were offered a drink - except when we asked some stroppy receptionist who sort of huffed her way to the kitchen. i did remind her that the booking voucher clearly stated that we were to be provided with refreshments throughout the day!!! they then clearly decided to bring round drinks which turned out to be squash in champagne glasses! cheek!

the photographer (Jay) was excellent..he is open to ideas and likes suggestions if you wanted some particular shots. i have to say that the photos are excellent and i was very pleased with them.

once i came out of shoot i then got told by the same stroppy receptionist that the prints would take 2 hours before i could view them. bearing in mind it was 3pm on a sunday i was far from pleased especially with the shops soon to be shutting for the evening and the fact i had aklready been there most of the day! they also said they would call but 2 hours later i still had not had a call and ended up walking back to then be kept waiting another hour before i could view them! the final straw was when the manager came out and said 'you are next miss,,,it only takes 5 mins to upload the photos...!!!' Not once throughout the day was i given an apology or kept informed as to why we were being kept around waiting so much THAT is what annoyed me the most.
The girls on the reception need a serious kick up the bum as they seemingly spent most of their time gossiping/giggling/cuddling each other(unnecessary)/standing around doing nothing and generally being very rude to clients. one of them even barged into me in the corridor and proceeded to glare at me like it was my fault - grow up love, we are not in a playground here! They are far too up their own backsides and clearly if they are going to give that impression then they are an embarrassment to the company.
when i did get in to view the photos i absolutely let rip with the manager for a good half hour about all the waiting around and his members of staff. he admited thatas he had been processing the photos all day he had not been out on the floor much so was unaware that there were all these issues going on. He listened to my rant and where credit is due he was seemingly quite appauled by what we were telling him.

i prepared myself for the sales pitch but politely told them they could forget trying to get any more money out of me as i had already paid £100 for additional prints that was doubled in value and sold to me when i booked the day. Each image costs around £100 on a CD on the day. bearing in mind i picked nearly 20 photos that i liked this was going to cost nearly £2k! he gave me some speel about doing us a favour for our inconvienience but only halved the price. i ended up getting up to walk out...to which i ended up laying the cards down the table and telling him i was only going to pay a certain amount (believe me it was not a lot!) and i ended up with the images i wanted for next to nothing....

if i hadnt of kicked off then i wouldnt have got the images as they are so expensive but thats how they make their money and i knew that before i went. Yesterday was more about principle than anything- there was no was i was going to pay the extortinate amount of money for a day that was to be honest absolutely ruined by all the unnecessary waiting around. he even admitted to me that they were overbooked but it is totally out of order to keep people there for that length of time. i had stupidly looked forward to the day as it had been brough for me as a present but it was ruined and the person who brought the present for me felt really guilty. even though it wasnt their fault how do you cover up the fact that the day was a complete shambles!!!!

when i walked out there was another lady who was also ready to have a pop at him about the same thing as me as she and her daughter had been kept waiting all day and again had not once been kept informed or offered any refreshments.

if would only recommend this place for the hairdresser and the photographer and maybe the manager but the rest of them need to be sacked in my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!
