It was lovely the food and drink was a little pricey and the room was small and dated but very clean and lovely staff. The spa was nice but should perhaps be a little bigger.

Generally a really lovely day and the hotel laid on a lovely Gluten free afternoon tea which was very much appreciated.

I booked this for my mother as a mothers day gift. (1 night Spa Break for two with back massage (30mins) and dinner with breakfast included. The website looked amazing and facilities and most reviews seemed OK so I did not expect to be disappointed in any way, however there were a fair few things that I did not expect.
On arrival, we were not shown to our room (which was outside in a courtyard so we were given a map and sent on our way with our bags, not as easy as you might think), not the warmest welcome. The staff were very pleasant but service was often slow in the restaurants. The Spa facilities themselves were the biggest disappointment; it is more a leisure centre for local families with children so the pool was very busy with families and the sauna and steam room were very basic and right next to the fairly noisy poolside, was more like what one would expect in a Leisure Centre. The treatment (back massage) was nice though but there was no Spa Break ambience, was all a bit disjointed and like going to any so I was underwhelmed and my mum has seen better Spas. The hotel itself looks wonderful from outside but could really do with modernisation inside, a lick of paint and new curtains / carpet would make this place look more charming than chintzy / dusty. A shame as it is a beautiful space and building and the surroundings are beautiful. I do think it was good value but I would not book it again.

Fantastic value for money. The hotel is idyllic, the rooms were clean and really really comfortable! The spa was lovely with nice treatments. Afternoon tea was set in beautiful room in the hotel, sea views! There was 2 restaurants and you could not fault them! A wonderful spa break highly recommended!!

Really good value for money, nice room and staff very nice. Place is a bit older and tired in places, spa facilities aren't excellent, but good value and we enjoyed it, lovely location and near train station.

Have been on better spa breaks- no fridge or safe in the room and very little supply of room tea/coffees. Was expecting to have a room in the hotel, which was shown on the website, but ended up being placed in one of the resort rooms that were in huts outside of the hotel.
Had a afternoon tea which was nice but minimum. I would not fault the dinner in the Manor House- food wonderful and staff were tentative.
Regarding the spa, swimming pool was freezing (too cold for a child in my opinion). Had a pedicure and massage, which were relaxing but not a proper massage.
Would recommend for a one off cheap getaway for two people.

The hotel was ok but a bit tired and dated. The walls between rooms weren't very solid - we could hear someone in the room next door sneeze. The food was fine but some aspects of the service were a bit strange - we were hurried into ordering our dinner whilst still in the bar and then we were ushered in to the dining room from our comfy seats by the fire in the bar before we had finished our drinks. We then sat at our table waiting for 30 mins before our food arrived.

I had a disappointing spa experience. They used gel polish for my pedicure but didn't dry it which meant it never dried (even 3 hours later) and so a big mess. My appointment had been the last of the day and when I went back in the morning to get it fixed, there were no therapists available to speak to so I couldn't get it fixed before having to check out. When I contacted them later that day they were neither particularly apologetic nor helpful.

On a one night stay and would highly recommend, a short walk to town or a stroll around the ground to add to the peaceful day. Staff where all pleasant and happy to help and rooms where clean and comfortable.

Average place for an average price. You probably won't sleep in the main building so don't expect an old room with lovely quaint facilities as on a spa weekend you will be in a contained single room from the 1990's that is functional, clean but bland. Food was good so I do recommend that, but the Spa was average and a 30 minute treatment lasted 20 minutes. Not bad, but definitely not great.

I could not fault the staff they were very attentive and informative and the waitress lady who served our afternoon tea and dinner was lovely. The room was nice and cosy, it was clean and nice for what we needed for one night. There's no safe In the room so valuables would need to be left at reception. Unfortunately the treatment from the spa I did not enjoy so much, it was rushed and I was nearly burnt by the hot stones! My therapist didn't really communicate with me and the back massage was all of 3 mins and a very unpleasant scalp massage was given. My friend was out nearly ten mins after me and received a nice treatment so I was just unlucky with having a therapist who was obviously having a bad day. The food was nice but needed more variation as travelling with a vegetarian they only offered one option. All in all it was a nice break but I think I will be trying somewhere else next time.

Super cool and amazing hotel resort with wonderful sensual spa treatments :)
Also, lovely facilities for everyone all round the hotel resort- especially room service!
Received a top deep tissue back massage and facial which took me into another realm :)

The hotel and location were lovely.
Breakfast was quite a stressful experience, due to the fact that we were seated by the kitchen and had to keep listening to the Restaurant Manager speak to the other staff in such a rude manner.
Housekeeping of the bedrooms could be improved, as we had to wash up our own mugs and glasses. Also the water and coffee weren't replenished daily.
There is no room to sit by the pool and read, which I was looking forward to. Although the treatments and steam/sauna rooms were very relaxing.
