Our Beauty Therapists have created a range of pamper breaks which can be added on to your accommodation to allow you to make you own, taylor made pamper package and spa break. All of our treatments use only the finest Decleor products made from essential oils.

Set in its own grounds but only a few minutes walk from Stratford town centre, the Macdonald Alveston Manor is one of the finest bases from which to explore the area. The original hotel comprises a beautiful Tudor building with many authentic features, whilst the gardens boast an ancient Cedar Tree under which, rumour has it, the first performance of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' was given.

Stratford-upon-Avon is steeped in Shakespearean history, nowhere more so than the picturesque Macdonald Alveston Manor and Spa.

I am keen to support our local businesses in Stratford, and as a birthday treat arranged this afternoon spa indulgence for two of my girlfriends.
On arrival, Dana the senior therapist seemed pleasant enough, but wanted to change the timings of our pre-booked therapies which we did not want to do. We were moved into the relaxation room, and then left for more than half an hour. At which point we looked for someone to help, my friend was laughed at, when she asked if we could be shown round. Dana came back and was obviously not happy that we had asked for attention, she left us in her wake as she pointed out features of the facilities and left us in the changing rooms feeling as if we should never ask for anything from her ever again. The treatments were OK, someone stroked my head, sorry gave me a head massage, and the therapist who gave my friend a pedicure apologised that the nail varnish was lumpy! Never mind, we were looking forward to the afternoon tea, surely that would be perfect. We sat for another half an hour waiting at the appointed time for our tea, by which time we had settled into a corner of the lounge. When we asked where our tea had got to, the lady at the bar said she had set up the table in another part of the bar, when we asked to stay where we were the sigh was so loud, it made me wonder why she had gone into the hospitality industry, surely the customers comfort, and happiness are key?
When the afternoon tea finally arrived, it was an eclectic collection of puddings, which I have never received as part of an afternoon tea, scones with burnt currants, and four sandwiches each ham and tomato, sliced cheese and pickle and smoked salmon and cucumber. The bread was not fresh by the time we received it in the lounge.
I was really disappointed, I have been here when it as been much better, and this special afternoon was spoilt. On this occasion I do not think this experience was value for money.

Good value for money. I went for the lunch + treatment option and unfortunately it wasn't the smoothest of experiences as there seemed to be a disconnect between the SPA staff and the restaurant on where I needed to be, by when aso. It worked out in the end; just keep in mind to ask for all these logistical questions rather than expect they will let you know.

We had an absolutely lovely spa day, brilliant treatments and food. The relaxation room is lovely, the only bad point is the distance between there and the pool and the restaurant, but if you don't mind a bit of a walk it's perfect.

Had a great day, pool is small but very useable. Steam room and sauna are nice. Treatment was very good. I do parkour during the week so muscles go through a lot of touture. The full body massage really did the job of relaxing tired muscles and removing knots. After the treatment we had another swim, then went for lunch. Its funny walking though the hotel in a bath robe (beautiful Tudor building), but when we got to the bar, we found more spa goers having their lunch. Lunch was really good. The deal said "light lunch", but they weren't shy on the chicken or chocolate fudge cake (amazing cake btw). After that we had a wonder around town, the hotel is walking distance (5mins) from the main streets including various Shakespeare related attractions. We just left our car in the car park for the day without any problems as our deal included free parking. Would very much visit again!

Booked spa on Sunday and tried for 3 days to confirm treatment times and lunch choice as requested on the confirmation from yourselves. The phone just rang and rang and bounced from one phone to another with no-one picking up. I did this 4 times and finally rang the main hotel number and left a message for someone to call but yet again no response whatsoever! We arrived on the 19th February at 10am to be told there was no booking for us and the earliest treatment time was 4.30 and no lunch. This is an disgraceful situation to put someone in. My partner and I don't get many days off together and this was for us to relax and enjoy a day together but you failed us terribly. The lady on the spa reception tried hard to help us but 4.30 was no good for us. We have temporarily re arranged for 8th March but we still have not received any confirmation. She assured me that the manager would contact me the next day and true to form, I have not received one phone call! We paid a lot of money for this spa day and we are extremely disappointed with the lack of service provided. I hope we can expect some form of compensation for this stressful situation.

Shame there's no jacuzzi and the sauna/steam rooms are pool side. It's more of a health club than a spa. Treatment was good and lunch was tasty (although after booking the menus in advance, they got the orders wrong so took ages) nice day but I've been to more relaxing spas

My friend and I had a most enjoyable spa day and felt that it was very good value because it included two massages, lunch and full use of the facilities.
We chose not to use the gym, which appeared to be very popular with members and found the pool area good, with a large pool, sauna and steam room - only thing missing was a jacuzzi. The pool was popular but as people came and went it was easy to get in a few lengths without having to dodge other swimmers. Hot drinks were free and self-service, with a small area with seats in the reception area, or in the relaxation room in the spa area. Lunch entails quite a long walk past bedrooms etc. but it is worth it when you reach the traditional bar area and the Bento Box lunch was enjoyable.

My friend and I have just visited Alveston Manor (on a Saturday) and had the Vital Spa package. Whilst we had a nice relaxing day, we felt that the overall experience was quite disappointing! The Spa facilities are lovely particularly the pool area and the treatment rooms but the ambience is rather flat and it lacks the personal touch! The therapist that I had for my Elemis facial called Lily was very friendly, informative and helpful but I have to say that she stood out as my friend and I did not feel that we had that same experience with any of the other therapists during our visit. We thought that the lunch was extremely poor and we cannot work out why on earth the food is served in those awful boxes! Not to mention the fact that my friend was given a fork that looked like it had been bent out of shape by Uri Geller. We also felt that the service in the Manor Bar was not up to the standard that you would expect from a hotel in Stratford Upon Avon that boasts to be one of the finest 4 star hotels in the area. For all the reasons given we will not be returning to this venue for a spa day in the future.

A wonderfully relaxing day. The staff were really friendly. Unfortunately a therapist was ill so we had a thirty minute massage instead of an hour but we've been given a second spa day and massage for free as way of compensation! The lunch was great. Looking forward to our return visit!

Staff were very friendly and eager to help
therapist was chatty and pedicure was very relaxing .
The afternoon Tea Was A-MAZE-ING!!!!! Enormous plate of sandwiches scones, cakes and desserts. utterly indulgent and yummy.
Things to improve on is more loungers by the pool, and the showers were tepid and not comfortable.
Other than that a lovely day was had by all my party

We enjoyed our day, but some things could be improved. A jacussi would be good, as would more loungers in the pool area and a bigger relaxation room- this was ok for us, but would imagine that at weekends it must be too crowded, and far from relaxing. Impressed by changing rooms and the lunch, and nice that the pool is all one level.
