I went to Luca salon for a cut and blow dry, and I was very disappointed with the whole experience.
Laura briefly asked what I wanted done, but the conversation felt very rushed and she didn’t ask any questions about my normal hair care routine etc. She then spent only 10 minutes cutting my hair, which is very long and straight and usually requires much longer to cut and style. Laura then spent nearly 30 minutes blow-drying my hair without using any heat protection, causing parts of my hair to become very dry and coarse. When I asked her why she didn’t use heat protection spray, she claimed she did and that my hair was dry because I hadn’t had it cut for a long time. This response really surprised me. My hair wasn’t dry/coarse when I arrived at the salon, but it was when I left...
Since washing and drying my hair at home, I’ve noticed the cut is very blunt and uneven in parts. The limited styling Laura did around my face looks like an after-thought and it doesn’t blend with the rest of the hair. It seems like time was spent on blow-drying to hide the rushed cut.
I’ve been to Luca’s before and was previously very happy with the result, but this time was such a disappointment. The appointment I had with Laura felt rushed, she seemed distracted and it felt like very little care was put into the actual cut - definitely not worth the money.
I was also surprised that customers didn’t have to wear a face mask and that no anti-bacterial handheld was offered.
