A much less painful experience than ive had with hollywood waxing previously
Lovely experience.
This place is a perfect example of 'you get what you pay for'. First: the venue is not very clean. There's nowhere to hang your clothes during the massage, so I hung them over a folding chair in the corner of the room, as the only other surface was stacked high with dirty towels and sheets. Unfortunately, the chair seems to have been covered in wax from a previous treatment, which meant that I needed to get my coat dry-cleaned. You also have to walk in your bare feet over a dirty, cold tile floor to get to the table itself which isn't pleasant. The room itself is *really* bright, as it's lit by intense overhead fluorescent striplighting which stays on (and buzzes) throughout the treatment. It's also decorated with posters of women in bathing suits taped against the wall - very bizarre. You could maybe imagine getting a wax in that room if you were strapped for cash and in a hurry. I had booked my appointment towards the end of the day and could hear loud hoovering and talking outside the room the entire time, which made it impossible to relax. They also don't play any music during the massage, but you can clearly hear what's playing up at reception. My therapist was very kind, however I was a bit frustrated that her mobile phone kept ringing and buzzing throughout the treatment. To her credit, she tried desperately to silence it and was obviously mortified that it kept happening, but after the third time I was really wondering why she had it with her / didn't just turn it off. In retrospect, I think she might've been using it as a clock to time the treatment - so another good point might be that they need to invest in a clock or timer for their treatment rooms. If the massage itself had been good I think I might've been able to overlook some of this, but it just wasn't great and I left feeling disappointed by the whole experience. I definitely won't be going back.
The manager was late opening up leaving me standing outside on the street for 10 minutes past my appointment time. No apologies when she arrived. The manicure was standard but the level of customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
Loved it
