The steam room is still out of order. There are two sun loungers and both are filthy. Despite the sign no one stops children from going in the spa pool or in and out the steam room. The pedicure is express - about 20 mins, the massage was by far the best part of the experience. Lunch is served in the entrance bar and not in the restaurant.

I should have read Sally's review from 2 months ago before my visit as it describes exactly what I experienced today!
The steam room was not working (obviously hasn't been for some time), the pool was being used for Aqua babies lessons and we spent the whole morning listening to babies screaming and the teacher singing nursery rhymes! Definitely not what I had in mind. We were not told in advance that the pool would be taken over for the whole morning.
The changing room was very wet and dangerously slippery.
There was a sign clearly stating that children under 8 should not use the spa pool and yet 2 mothers came into the pool after their lesson and sat in there with their children.
When I complained the staff were very apologetic and a member of staff asked them to take the children out. When I expressed my disappointment I was told that people often misunderstand thinking it is a spa when it is in fact a 'Leisure Club' and not a spa. When I came home to check the details again both Wahanda and the Marriot websites state 'Spa' so if it isn't a spa it is misleading advertising!
The treatments, staff and food were great.
Unfortunately I didn't take it far enough to get any sort of refund but I should have. It was a very expensive day .....£75 x 3 and we all came out of there feeling more stressed then when we went in.

A lovely day out booked for me and my daughter through lastminute.com. It represented good value as we had use of the pool, steam room and sauna. My daughter had a facial and I had a manicure. The therapist was helpful and made us feel at ease. The afternoon tea was generous - sandwiches, scones, cakes, chocolates. We sat in the upstairs section of the bar (had it to ourselves) and stayed in our robes and slippers! I read previous comments about children in the pool and avoided the swimming class by turning up later (after 11.30). There were some children with adults in the afternoon, but it didn't spoil it for us.

Steam room wasn't working. Pool was being used for swimming lessons. For babies. Couldn't get in changing rooms as was full of mothers and their babies. When we did it was dirty old towels left on floors. Dirty nappies. General cleanliness terrible. We didn't use showers as thought we would be dirtier getting out. Treatment room was a hotel room with lots if noise. Could hear doors opposite being knocked on which made us uncomfortable. Treatments and the 2 therapists however were fantastic. Lunch took 2 hours and we had to return after our treatments for our deserts. Duty manager originally refused to speak to us. However when he did we got a refund on the extra treatment we had. However still paid a lot of money for a relaxing day that was anything but! Definitely wouldn't recommend or go there again. Totally ruined a rare day away from our own children. Very disappointed

Dear Guest ,

I must apologise that your time with us, and your experience in the Leisure Club was so disappointing.

I have since spoke to my team who were able to give me some feedback and we do unreservedly apologise that the Steam Room was not working. We are having some problems sourcing replacement parts for our Steam Room and usually, we always advise guests that we have swimming lessons in the morning and if any of our equipment is out or order. Of course sometimes faults happen at short notice, especially in a facility that is open every day of the year. However if we had failed to advise you in a timely manner, I am very sorry.

Since our Spa opens at 10am, and normally swimming lessons finish at 11-11:30am, we usually do not have challenges. Normally, by the time guests check-in at Leisure reception, fill consultation forms and change, the classes are over. However when we do have many mothers and babies using the facility first thing in the morning, it can be difficult for the cleaning staff to get access to clean the facility until the group has finished, and then it normally is given immediate attention.

I am delighted that you enjoyed the treatments in our Spa but added to your other disappointments, I fully appreciate that this was frustrating and not conducive to a relaxing day.

I hope you will contact me directly if you would like to speak with me, or if there is anything else I could do to apologise for your dissapointing visit.

Thank you for your valued feedback.

Sincerely,

Nick Goody.
