It's a nice, cosy local salon, which is great to have in the neighbourhood. The wax I had was a mix of strip and hot wax, which I wasn't keen on but apparently there is an option to choose just hot wax if you prefer. Overall it was a good experience and I'll definitely be back.
Well first the good points: it's close to where I live, the staff are very friendly and it's not too stuffy so you don't feel intimidated when you go in unlike some other salons. They were also very quick - less than an hour for a hair cut and blow dry and i have very long hair! However there are a few not so good points which means I probably won't go back, it's tiny, and I mean teeny tiny, there's barely room to swing a cat in there - I was in the way of the stylist cutting the hair of the previous client when I was just sitting waiting for my appointment! Also my hair isn't that complicated to cut, it's just long and needs a trim and a fringe style and the stylist didn't seem to be able to tell how my fringe should be styled so I had to direct him which didn't make me feel that comfortable. He didn't ask me how I wanted my hair styled/blow dried and proceeded to do a very ordinary blow dry on my hair that just left it straight and without any volume. He then wanted to use straighteners on my fringe (my hair has a wave in it) and I had to direct him to please use a round brush to blow dry it - which is what he should have done with the entire blow dry. Also it's not the cheapest salon, it is in a more well heeled part of town but still as I mentioned I have the least complicated hair cut and I resent paying high end prices to just have a trim and in a pokey little salon.... The staff are really friendly though and made me feel at ease but unfortunately I won't be going back which is annoying as it's right on my doorstep.
