I bought the cut and colur treatment with master colourist on Groupon. Worst hairdressing experience ever! The girl hardly spoke English, i told her that I want darker blonde colour, even showed a picture. When she washed off my colur which I told her couple of times I think it will be too light she started to blow dry it and i told her again it is definetely lighter than I asked for she did a toner. But it would have been better if she wouldnt such a messy job! I just noticed when i got home that both of my ears were full of colourant even my face sideline. When she was brushing my hair it was feeling like she wanted to tear it off, used the hairdrier on full heat burning my face and even with the she did burn a bit of my scalp with the iron. :( it felt like a comedy. lvery anti talented hairdresser. I have bever thought that. salon on high street Kennsington can afford such a clamsy staff. Never ever going back!

Having read all the reviews on here, I have to say I was a bit nervous leading up to my appointment. I'd bought a Groupon voucher for highlights and a cut and made an appointment for after work one evening.

I arrived early and was shown to a chair immediately. I was offered tea or coffee, which promptly arrived. My stylist - Sam - was really sweet and friendly and we had a quick chat about what I wanted and then got down to it. She was super quick and efficient doing my highlights, and I noticed that she was super thorough getting into the roots, which is always one of my biggest bugbears! When it came to wash off the colour, the chair at the wash station had a massage setting which was a really nice treat. Again she was really thorough with conditioning my hair - having pointed out that blonde highlighted hair gets really dry.

I had asked for a simple trim off the bottom of my hair with no layers or anything, which was exactly what Sam did. Quite often I've found that hairdressers hate doing that, and will get scissor happy, chopping off bits here and there, so it was a welcome relief that I didn't have to worry about this!

Blow dry was done in record time, and left the salon with a bounce in my step with that 'swishy new hair' feeling.

Downsides? I really can't think of many. Slightly annoying that they don't take cards, but there's a newsagent next door with a cash machine. I did have to pay a small supplement for my Groupon voucher as my hair is long and thick, but this was clearly stated in the small print, so really can't complain.

Will I be going back? Absolutely! Having wasted so much money at big chain hairdressers in the past, I'm so happy to find a good value hairdresser that I can trust!

TERRIBLE SERVICE.
Booked an appointment on my birthday at midday to have half a head of highlights and a trim. Stylist turned up 20 minutes late to my appointment with no apology, after arriving then he spent time chatting to other employees and on the phone while I was sat in the chair waiting.
Whilst doing the colour, the stylist kept leaving to again talk on the phone and chat to others for five minutes at a time, on multiple occasions. He then blamed his poor attention to the fact it was monday and he had to "arrange things" for the rest of the week.
When washing my hair I was left at the sink with wet hair for 10 minutes while he spoke to another girl, then he again was not focusing and scalded my head with boiling hot water.
I then asked for a tiny bit taken of the ends and ended up with a bob hair cut, at least 3 inches shorted than I asked for. The colour was nowhere near what I had asked for and when I looked at it when I got home there are big bleached patches along my parting - completely ruined my hair!
Very very poor service, due to the stylist being late and paying no attention I ended up missing my birthday lunch as the whole appointment took over three and a half hours.
Terrible experience over all.

Bought a voucher of Wowcher, very good value and easy to get you. Loved the service - will return next year :)

I came here for the Microdermabrasion. I had originally only booked one session in but I was really happy with the results and I have booked myself in for a course of six now!

Extremely rude bitchy staff! I purchased a wowcher and rang up to book for a Tuesday, but received an email saying that my appointment was booked for Monday. When I emailed to correct the error I did not get a response for several days so I called, and was greeted by a nasty, rude woman.

I was very nearly put off going completely but decided to go as it was too late to get a refund from wowcher. The salon was nice as was the free champagne but my hairdresser spoke hardly any English and did not give me the cut I wanted.

The rude woman was there and was every bit as obnoxious as she was on the phone to me (I heard her answer the phone to other customers with the same attitude). Felt incredibly awkward throughout the whole appointment. Definitely won't be returning!

Well I went for a microdermabrasion facial. After arriving at the salon and receiving an unprofessional greeting and told to sit on the chairs near the front window, I waited for the therapist to come and get me for the facial. When she did, she was nice enough with the way she greeted me (I feel that when you go to a salon the staff should welcome you and make you feel at ease and happy to be there so when this does not happen it sets up the rest of the visit. Anyway, once in the room I was so shocked I did not know what to say - so I said nothing, had my very short (less than 30 minute) facial and left vowing never to go back. The room where the facial took place was up some stairs and there was another therapist and another client in the same room!! A therapy room that you share with another client!! That is just so strange!! Honestly if they are going to do that, they should charge half the price of a usual salon since you have no privacy and can hear the other therapist and client talking. Never mind the getting undressed / changed part - no privacy at all. So after this shocker, never again!!

I went here a few months ago for a cut and colour. Very attractive salon. The girl doing my hair had only arrived in the country 5 days before from Hungary and her English was limited so one of the other girls had to interpret for us. The girl doing my hair was an absolute sweetheart but the other girl was really surly and perfunctory - it's not my fault your boss has employed someone you need to translate for! The colour was absolutely lovely and just what I wanted (though it did take her ages!), but the cut wasn't great. It wasn't awful, but she obviously wasn't used to cutting short hair and seemed really timid and unsure of herself, eventually leaving it far too long at the back and after 2 weeks regrowth I ended up with a pixie mullet! Also even though the picture I showed her was of a smooth and sleek pixie cut, she insisted on spiking my hair up with wax at the end (a lot of hair dressers do this with short hair). Would go back for colour perhaps, but not for a cut.

I have been going to Karda for more than 3 years now and I am a regular customer of Dorothy. She has always done my hair fabulously. I think she is skilful, competent, attentive and passionate about what she does. She is a professional and with her I have always had consistent results that I was happy with. I will continue to go there and I will recommend it to others.

I am shocked how bad they have treated me as a customer. Unprofessional and rude. I usually give places like this the benefit of the doubt and see for myself and try to pull out the positives rather than negatives. Even with the voucher deal (Cut, colour and blow-dry) some places treat them customers relatively worse as they don’t pay the full fee but this is just not acceptable.

I bought the deal more than a month ago and booked an appointment straight away. Half a month later, the night before (at 22.00) my appointment I got a very long text message saying my visit had been cancelled due to a sick stylist and two others had to go to Hungary as something had happened and they were trying to send people over from there to come to work?

First I thought it was a joke and called up the next morning, and he explained to me I was the first one in the queue to get the next available appointment and I hardly understood the rest of the conversation but he promised to call me back with a time and a date. 4 days went by and nothing happened so I tried for the next 2 days to call and see what was going on. No one picked up and in the end I finally got through and asked about if I would be seen eventually. The lady told me I could wait for another 3 weeks until I could get seen and told me I would be called back by the manager(who texted me). Which obviously hasn’t happened and I am still trying to call them without any results. After waiting for this long WITHOUT an appointment this obviously feels like a joke, I have paid £40 and been waiting around for over a month I don’t know what to do. If I should go there or try to get a refund. This is clearly not a way to treat a customer if you want to have any in the end. Seriously I have read all the “good” and the bad reviews about this place and I would suggest to spend your money somewhere else where they treat customers with some respect. I have called ten times today, no answer. A big waste of my time. They seriously need to get their act together if they want to have a respected salon.

I definetily don't recommend this salon. I had Groupon offer for cut and higlights. I don't remember name of my haidresser, but that girl was very unpleasant and she couldn't advice what is better thing or colour to do. If I wouldn't have that Groupon bought two months ago, I would just leave. And after colouring (I had full head coloru instead opf highlights, byt I don't like and I need to go to other salon to correct it), very nice young hairdress was cutting my hair. He was very kind, but it was looking like he didn't know how to do it. It was my first situation ever. Don't go there!

I usually have Alexander cut and colour my hair and have always been happy with him. I made an appointment with Alexander, when I arrived I was told he was not there. Warning bells started flashing in my head I could not do anything but accept as my daughter was getting married in 2 days. I stressed to Dorothy that this had to be right for the wedding and that I wanted to go light blonde and not the usual honey blonde, she went off to mix up the dye, I kept checking this is light blonde isn't it as I am seeing my hair turn GINGER yes she answered but I mixed a darker colour to match your roots WHAT???, she cut and blowed dry and it seemed lighter under the downlighters, I have an inverted bob usually with steep angled sides, but she cut my hair in a normal bob, I reached home and found I was ginger with a normal bob, I cried , nothing I could do as the wedding was imminent, I texted Alexander for help and received no reply, what should have been a happy wedding day with my outfit and accessories carefully chosen was now ruined, I had to go to another hairdresser after the wedding and spend £75 to get rid of the vile ginger, I cannot understand these comments on here Dorothy did not listen at all she was rough and rude I will never return to Karda they have lost a loyal client...AVOID!!!

I think that I met Dorothy last time at this salon and she was very rude for me as well. She couldn't advice me what is better thing to do with my hair and she was very impatient. In my experience with hairdresser - I visited cheap salons and even some posh, but this is the first and worst experience that I had with Karda. I Won't back there.

FANTASTIC SALON! I have been a regular at Karda for over 3 years now, and have had fantastic results on my hair each and every time I've been. Dorothy is a genius and I always get so many comments after she does my hair. The colour is always natural looking and my hair is left feeling healthy and nourished. Don't be put off by the other reviews, give this place a chance. If you appreciate fine skills in the craft of hair styling you won't be disappointed. I have recommended this salon to many of my friends and will continue to do so.

The staff were excellent, my hairdresser worked quickly and efficiently (so I had half a head of highlight a cut a blow dry within 2 hours) and listented to me so I was pleased with the result.

Worst haircut I have ever had! At the beginning, the salon looked posh and professional. They recommended me highlights and a cut. The result was an absolute disaster! The highlights did not look nice with the rest of my hair. On top of it, when the hairdresser layered my hair, they cut off the highlights (it was a half head) so the resulting effect looked like I was wearing a wig with a different colour to my real hair. The hair cut was badly executed, every hair had a different length. I went back in a few days later and asked them to correct the colour. They put another colour on my hair. The result - uneven colour with the old highlights still showing through. My hair has never looked so unhealthy and damaged when I left the salon. I would not recommend the salon to my worst enemy!

If you have a voucher they will pass you of to the most inexperienced hairdresser. I've had a girl called Katy that couldn't speak English. She asked me 'Do you want to cut hair?'. I was sitting there for a hair cut, right? Then, with my hair still wet, and in a towel, she asked how do I want to cut my hair. Aren't you suppose to consult before you wet the hair, or then at least have the hair combed out and then consult the style?
Horrendous. If you have any respect for yourself and your hair, don't go there. If you are just in for a cheap haircut, and don't care much for your appearance, perfect for you.
I walked out and phoned my usual £150 per cut hairdresser. Wont bat an eyelid paying that now after this experience.

This was my first time to visit this place. I must say that I was very disappointed. I had a voucher and book my appointment to have a chemical peel. I reached there 10 minutes early, one of the girl was busy with another customer doing her hair but she approached me and asked me what I was having done. As I was having a facial treatment, she took my voucher and gave me a form to fill in. I was impressed as I thought they are trying to find out about my health and any allergy status before using any product on my skin. I was then asked to take a seat. I waited for almost 20 minutes. Then another girl came out and asked me if I was waiting for facial, I said yes. She asked me what I was having done, I then said I have booked for a chemical peel. She looked at my voucher and asked me to wait 5 minutes. I just thought that it was reasonable to wait for another 5 minutes. I continued to wait for another 20 minutes then finally she called me in. When I was inside, she asked me if I would be interested with a derma abrasion as well. I was not sure if both treatment could be done on the same day. She said for better result, she would advise me to do the both and it would cost only and extra £12. Ok I thought £12 it is not too bad. She started off with cleaning my face with some lotion which took her less than 2 minutes. Then she started the treatment but she never explained what she was doing that is which one she started. I have done derma abrasion in the past and I know what it is like. So I knew that she started with the derma abrasion first. The treatment lasted for 10 - 15 minutes maximum. Then she switched off the light and left the room by saying she would see me in few minutes. I was lying on the couch for 5- 7 minutes and she came back, she asked me if I felt any itch or burning sensation, I said no so she said next time she would try to increase the strength and at the same time she took a towel soaked in warm water and apply on my neck and face for 2 to 3 minutes and said I could pay the £12 with her colleague as she was going to have her lunch. I was not sure if the treatment was over, I was still lying on the couch expecting to have the chemical peel. But she said it's done and if I would be interested with their products I could look on the website. I was already disappointed as I don't think the treatment was worth the money I paid. £12 + I had my Voucher, I was not satisfied at all. Complete waste of my time and waste of money. They advertise with Wowcher, on the ads, it says that you will be welcome by the professional, they will offer you refreshment etc, oh no very disappointing. I have been to other beauty saloon where I have spent less money but I really feel pampered. I am sorry, if I knew it was going to be like this , I would not pay extra £12. Anyway, I will never go back to this place again and I will not recommend anyone for this place.
