Have you been here?
I booked this spa day with afternoon tea for my sister-in-law as a birthday present. We were shown to the spa by a member of the reception staff, and told that someone would show us around, this never happened. I found a cleaner who showed me around. I expected a swimming pool - there wasn't one. Basically there was a steam room and a gym, that's all! We wanted to steam, and lounge around for a couple of hours before we had our massages. There were no facilities for refreshments or snacks, only a water cooler in the gym. There were no loungers or chairs to sit on, so we had to sit on a bench in the reception area of the spa when the steam room became too much for us. Our massages were booked for 15.00 and 15.30, the massage was to last for 30 minutes. By 15.05, no masseuse appeared, I had to go up to reception to find out about the delay. No one seemed to know what was happening. I went back into the basement to wait for the masseuse. I had to go back up to reception to find a member of staff (at 15.20), I was told that the masseuse was stuck in traffic. He finally arrived at 15.30, and started the first massage at 15.40! We had to push forward the afternoon tea from 16.15 to 16.45. My massage was rushed because I was so hungry I couldn't be bothered to stay for the full massage. The saving grace for this day was the afternoon tea, it was superb! Out whole day was spoilt. Would I recommend this spa as a treat - no! If you were a guest at this hotel, it would be perfect.
