Lovely relaxing Indian head massage 💆🏽‍♀️
Therapist was running about 30 mins behind time, although this is because she had miss read the appointment time (which is fine, as I didn’t have any time constraints) the treatment was then carried out to an average standard. I’m happy with it, but it is definitely not the best gel manicure I’ve ever had, and not a wide range of colours to choose from either.. staff were sweet, so I’ve added an extra star there for them.
very good
Location: Public carpark opposite. Free after 6pm. Ambience: A bit run down and needs a bit of a clean (e.g. cobwebs over the POS and displays) Booking: Easy on Treatwell, however, there was an issue. The salon had taken a booking directly and Treatwell hadn't updated to reflect this. Apparently this is a long-term issue between the salon and Treatwell as they need 2 hours notice. Despite this, they managed to fit me in. Staff: While I'm grateful for being fit in despite the confusion, the staff were quite abrupt. I'm used to having a relaxing cut, a chat, a cup of tea and feelin refreshed. I was rushed through, not spoken to (the girl doing my hair couldn't speak English so I can't really blame her for that) and not offered a drink. Treatment: I went in to get a knot out of my hair. I already knew this would mean cutting it out as I'd tried everything else possible. The owner rough cut the knot out and she made me fully aware before cutting that it would be chin length at best. Honesty is best policy. I then had my hair washed (lovely smelling shampoo ad hair was very soft after) and neatened up a little. The other lady then stepped in to blow dry. The temperature on the hair dryer was so hot it kept burning. She acknowledged that it had hurt me but kept the hair dryer at the same temperature and distance. She tried to style my now short hair inwards but twist the brush the wrong way to do it. So out of frustration I asked her to straighten it out instead - can't go wrong with straight. Only you can because she burnt my ear once and my scalp twice. The owner was helpful but there was a lot that could have been done better overall. At the end, my hair was wonky and uneven so the owner spend some time trimming some off this side, then some off that until it was even shorter unfortunately. That said, for all I hated losing all my hair, it looked alright in the end! Value: This was £19 for cut, wash and dry (and to be hair the straightening wasn't charged extra). Good on a budget but I would go elsewhere if, like me, you tend to use hair cuts as a treat rather than a necessity.
I went to Harps for a haircut and I clearly stated I wanted a trim. I’m not a fussy person, I have never been so unhappy with a haircut that I’ve wanted to complain. But I am very upset with my treatment at this shop. My hair was hacked off and left very short, in no particular style and it is completely uneven! I’m not even convinced the stylist is even trained to cut hair. I am having to get it restyled by another person so I feel my money has been completely wasted! Be careful going to Harps.
