I booked the boot camp in a moment of bravado intending to do something to inspire me and kick start me. I have eaten relatively carefully and exercised for many years but as the big 50 was creeping towards me at a steady pace I wanted some input from outside professionals to get into a good shape.

But I am quite stubborn and don't like being told what to do so to book this was rather a challenge!

I arrived on the Fri with 7 others and I can honestly say we had a fabulous time. I cant fault the place - the Manor was gorgeous - I expected something much more basic but this is a private house that is used for other things also when the bootcamps not there and the rooms are very good, the food - although not masses of it was very good and really taught us all we were eating way more than we needed. The comment after finishing each main course was that was a lovely starter I wonder whats for mains?? But we all very quickly accepted and looked forward to the smaller portions.

We generally went to bed after the evening meal and the eve activity (dancing / dressing for your shape talk / nutrition etc ) so were in bed often for 8.30 which was amazingly refreshing - especially as we were having to get up for the 6.30am starts!! I didn't relish the prospect of doing this at first but again you very quickly got used to it and it was fun to see who was rushing down at 6.29!! The girls i met were from all walks of life but we all gelled very early on and developed into a very friendly and supportive group who really wanted each other to succeed - no competition between us - just supported each other to do their best.

I wondered if the "army PT instructors" might be a couple of gym bunnies brought in for the sessions - but no they are army PT instructors and boy did we know it!! They were fab - pushed us to work hard but made us have fun doing it - and they obviously really loved their work which obviously motiated us.

All too soon it was time to go home and the dreaded weigh in - from Fri to Mon I had lost nearly 6 lbs and 5 and a half inches - and felt it!!!

It is now September and i have been meaning to write this review for some time but wanted to see if the way I felt on return was a short term motiation and I can honestly say I came home and lost another 4 lbs pretty easily and without even really trying I have kept at this level now and love it. I am very tempted to go back not to lose any more weight necessarily but just for the motivation and positive mindset it puts you in.

Good luck to Sharon and her team and I hope to be back (even though its about 250 miles for me and there are ones nearer home I cant imagine finding a more all round and enjoyable one)

Great experience which gave me a good idea of what a residential bootcamp would involve. It's not for the faint hearted as you will be worked hard but if you want a kick start to your fitnes then you'll get out what you put in. I found the facilities and staff excellent and would strongly returning for longer next time.

really enjoyed my time at GIJane. PT instructors were excellent - worked us very hard, but in short bursts so you didn't get bored with any of the exercises. Would definitely recommend to others.

Really enjoyed the mid-week bootcamp. It was tough doing 10 hours of physical exercise a day with only 1500 calories of food but we all did it and the results were amazing! Lost 4lbs..but average of the group was 7lbs! Would definitely recommend.

I went with a friend. We both had medical conditions which we checked with head office were ok to attend the boot camp with and were told we were absolutely fine to attend and that some of the exercises would be adapted for us. On arrival we were told under no circumstance should we participate. We were not very happy having got up at 5am to attend. Also, on advert it said the boot camp was in Bexleyheath it is not it is in Sittingbourne. The staff at the boot camp were more than helpful and ensured us we would get a full refund and they themselves were not happy with the staff in the office for telling us we could attend. We were told to hand the medical survey provided in on arrival I believe we should have submitted this prior to the boot camp and we would have avoided the situation we were in.

Had an enjoyable day and certainly value for money. Personally I wouldn't like to do more than one day in a row but I see the appeal. The staff know what they are talking about and provided positive motivation.

Recommend this to everyone to try at least once, they won't regret it even if you go with a group of friends, it's a great day out and you'll not even notice you're doing exercise
