Floatopia

Floatopia is the first floatation therapy centre in west London and it is our aim to introduce an oasis of peace and tranquillity into the lives of its residents. Our centre is purpose built and offers all the amenities necessary to ensure clients get the most from their float experience.

Floatation involves lying on your back on 12 inches of a dense Epsom salt solution. The solution is so dense that you float spontaneously, like a cork, effortlessly. The solution is warmed to skin temperature and the room is insulated against light and sound providing a profoundly restful and stress relieving environment.

Our float rooms are large and airy with a normal door, not a hatch, making it easy for young, old, the able and the less able to get in and out. Each float suite has its own private changing space and shower. Towels and toiletries are provided in each suite so you need bring nothing with you when you visit.

Floatation has many benefits but in its simplest terms it allows the most profound relaxation of both body and mind currently possible. This level of relaxation can increase creativity, improve circulation and boost energy levels, whilst encouraging harmony and homeostasis in the body.

Experiencing weightlessness in the absence of light and sound is such a freeing sensation, that as the senses are rested, old injuries (especially back aches) are relieved and stress drifts away. Epsom salts alone have been linked to easing arthritis, detoxifying the system and improving the condition of the skin and hair.

I first started to float more than 15 years ago, and in that time have experienced hundreds of float sessions. The whole experience always leaves me deeply relaxed - its as if my whole system has been reset to a very balanced and centred place. I have been visiting floatopia for several years, it is my centre of choice. The staff are always very polite, relaxed and professional. I love the ambiance, stylish and sophisticated feel. There is nothing quite like relaxing after the session, with a tea and friends, before going back to the madness outside!

I cant recommend this centre enough, do be sure to float, you'll love it too!

I went with my partner and this was our second time going floating, and it was a lot better than first time because we knew what to expect. The facilities were great, very clean and spacious. The only down side is one member of staff was rude because we weren't early enough (we were struggling to find parking), but still we were a bit early and had time to fill in the questionnaire etc. We managed to put this behind and enjoyed the floating session which was super relaxing, so I'd definitely recommend this place.

Booked on Friday evening after a stressful week at work, never tried anything like it. Everything was explain to me as it was the first time i tried floatation. Music played for about 15 minutes before fading away switched off the lights and just relax. Not sure for how long i drifted away but i felt so comfortable almost forgetting i was in water. Floating tank is large and no feeling of claustrophobia. Did not like the difference of temperature when opening the door but was compensated with a worm shower.
would have been great to have a extraction fan in the room as it was so steamy afterward i simply could not see myself in the mirror and struggle to feel dry. Would have been great to have a blow drier in the room too rather than having to walk out in communal area with we soaking hair.
I was offered tea and water and you can relax on the sofa. I felt like if i was coming back from a week holiday and all my stress was just gone but as another girl mention it don't plan anything afterward as you don't fell like doing anything.
Will definitely return.

this was a great location for my first flotation experience. Well, actually, it was really out of my way, but worth it. The staff give you a nice welcome and mini tour and explanation of how to take your flotation. There's also some really useful literature to read whilst you're waiting, in a lovely scented, quiet candlelit room.

You get your own little room, with shower and flotation tank, so it's very relaxing to strip off and enter the flotation chamber, which is completely dark and silent. I have to confess I spent a good half hour of my treatment not zoning out, but bouncing off the walls of the tank, which was really fun. But then I did get a good bit of relaxing done! I would really like to try this again to get true benefits.

Excellent therapy - slept better for two nights. This is something I'm going to continue regularly as I'd say it works for me - but a bit of a struggle at times to not move. I think it takes a bit of practice so keep at it.

A relaxing experience, forcing me to calm down, and to calm my mind (or try!) for an hour. I went on a Wahanda deal, and I would say that the hour of 'time out' was definitely worth it. The staff were welcoming and reassuring, and everything was clearly explained for the 'float beginnner.' The float tank and my changing area were extremely clean and there's a hairdryer in the communal bathroom area. It was lovely to be able to chill out afterwards in their lounge area with a cup of herbal tea before returning to the outside world.

Welcoming staff who explained everything about the flotation which was extremely relaxing. There was some minor building work going on but the atmosphere was still very relaxed and altough it was busy there wasn't a feeling of being rushed.

Having the chance to chill out on a sofa with a cup of tea afterwards was a nice touch.

Would definately recommend.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The float experience itself was excellent and I relaxed in the garden before facing the outside world. Only small downside is that they are doing some refurbishment at the moment, but any possible intrusion had been kept to an absolute minimum.

I cant say that there was anything that was anthing that was wrong or that didn't lik it, but is not really for. The whole point is to relax, but for me I could't. I would recomend for others who will be able to let o & relax.

It's a learned experience and I would recommend visiting again as when you go the second time you know what to do and it's easier. I had pretty much the same first experience but I persevered and now it's a big part of my iife, it's powerfully relaxing!

The Wahanda deal inspired me to try the Floatation experience. Everything was well explained and there were tips provided to get the best out of the experience. I liked the private suite and the fact that everything including towels, shampoo & conditioner, slippers and hair dryer is provided for.

The experience itself was good, it took me a while to fully relax (first timer), but once I did, I drifted off into a half sleep. The floatation chamber is closed and dark but I had no problems with it at all as it was a proper room and big enough. The music and the whole experience was soothing. The lady there said that it gets better and better with each repeat. They also gave me discount vouchers for 2 more sessions.

Very calming. I was unsure what to expect but I really did feel relaxed after I came out of the flotation tank. I think it takes a while to relax into it though.

I didn't know what to expect at all so found it quite exciting! It took me a while to relax in the tank but after the session, I felt more relaxed that I have done for a while. I would definitely go back.

I was expecting something different. I couldn't relax properly so I was moving a lot. When I spoke to the therapist, she said that this was normal and that it takes a few more sessions to get used to the feeling. The venue is clean but the room I had the floatation in had damp stains. The staff were really nice.

I HAD long wanted to try a floatation experience, and so was delighted to get this great deal with Wahanda as floatations can be pricey. Though the pemises are a little tucked away, on a quaint West London street, the directions were clear and got me there from the station within five minutes. The staff are friendly and warm, and gave ample advice for both first time use and follow up: this was my second visit.
I must admit the second time wasn't quite as mindblowing as the first - there is definitely an element of expectation which has to be let go of, because each floatation really is unique. The floatation area is basically a large bath filled with water and salts and enclosed within a cubicle with a door to allow access. I have tried it with and without lighting, which is operable from within the cubicle, and like no lights best, as this enabled me to 'let go' better. Despite not quite getting that wow feeling of the first time, I still emerged feeling quite relaxed, and will definitely be going back.

This was a lovely venue made even better by the staff who were really friendly and made the experience extremely relaxing. As it was my first time they talked me through what would happen during my floatation and reassured me that even if I fell asleep, someone would come to wake me up at the end. I would definitely reccomend this venue to others.

The salon is located in Chiswick, we went on a Sunday so parking was very easy. On entering the salon we were greeted by the owner who was very pleasant and explained the process, making us both feel at ease (as this was our first floatation experience). The ‘treatment’ itself was lovely, music is played for the first approx fifteen minutes to relax you, it worked as I fell asleep (!) and on waking at the end felt completely rejuvenated and would definitely recommend it.

Floatopia is tucked away in a convenient location just behind Chiswick High Road. As this was my first Wahana experience I was worried that I would be treated less well than a customer who had paid the full price but this was not the case at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, the spa is very clean and the float was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend a float although to get the the best from them its probably best to have a course of floats (which I have done in the past)

Overall for me this was a wonderful introduction to Wahanda.

Peaceful welcoming atmosphere on arrival & treatment explained thoroughly. Something new for me to try, took my mum too as it's reported to have many health benefits! Pleasant relaxing experience in a warm tank of salt water-you have your own room with shower. Would recommend-as long as your not claustrophobic! :-)
