I attended a few Zumba classes. I found the instructor fantastic - high energy and enthusiastic and fun. The room that the class took place in wasn't great. There are two huge pillars (presumably supporting the roof) but it was extremely difficult to see the instructor from many positions in the room. The classes were also too full and there wasn't enough room to move around. Having said that, I think it was great value for money.

The gym was in good conditon. The classes were fab...just booking in advances was needed for the popular ones such as zumba. definitely an ideal way to experience a gym before signing up to long term membership.

Gym was pretty packed when i went because so many people had vouchers - meant the classes filled up really quickly. For me, there are not enough classes on in a week to make a membership worthwhile however if you just used the gym it would be great.

The gym is in an easy location and for the super price £5 for 5 exercise classes i would definately recommend. Gym is well equiped but can get busy and all exercise classes get booked up in advance so you need to lpan ahead.

I've always wanted to go to this fitness first so when this offer came up I was really happy that this offer came up. I went to some body pump classes and zumba classes and they were great but the zumba class wasn't as good to other zumba classes that I have been to

The staff were really lovely and explained thoroughly all the facilities available to members. The classes really cater for all levels too and i liked the way you could do something high impact like spin and then go to a body balance class. Really great Gym if you are looking for the standard stuff...then this place is great.

The staff and instructors are really friendly and gave a great work out, however the gym is a little tired and the fitness studio is in need of a bit of TLC. The gym is well equipped with lots of bikes, treadmills, rowing machines etc

Good gym. Everything you need. Good classes and facilities. However, the booking system is a bit difficult, as you have to book for evening and weekend classes by phone on the day before it gets booked out.

There were a couple of occasions when staff had run out of temporary locker cards therefore I could not put my personal belongings anywhere. This meant I couldn't really shower after my workout which was quite frustrating.

decent facilities, good classes, good value for money overall. staff were pretty friendly and no hassle with the passes or to join the gym. can't go wrong with five classes for five pounds. also right next to my house.

I bought 5 classes for £5.00 so in terms of value I feel I got a bargain.
That said, I wouldn't be tempted to commit myself to a membership with Fitness First (Islington) for the following reasons; Whilst the staff are ok, they don't seem that interested in members; the spinning/RPM class teachers were great, although I couldn't hear a word they spoke and the body pump teacher turned up late and also couldn't be heard; the other members can be less than friendly - having not experienced teh body pump class before I clearly didn't know what equipment to use, cue lots of derisory glances my way. Why are women like that with other women???
Worth a try if you are looking to commit to twelve months and want to try it out first. Perhaps other branches are different.

Class was ok; felt like too much was crammed into the time slot so, in turn, felt rushed and poses / sequences not explored in full. Gym also gets very busy and is by no means spacious so atmosphere is not great. Change rooms are bit dated. Equipment is fine. Staff are friendly. All abit crazy, but perhaps that's the typical gym experience for time poor people nowadays!
