All i can say it's an odd salon the staff are o.k. the young man who done my hair did not speak all the way through the time i was in the chair... he worked very hard to gave me a good cut and i am plesse with it.. have had better and also had a lot worse was going to cancell the appointment after reading the reviews...But went along really just to have a wash and blow dry. when i arrived i ask just for a trim because what can go wrong with that and he did just that he trim it and i was happy with the out come.
would i go back no.. But i think it's pot luck who you get and whatt results you get.... but sadly that's most
hair salons you go to these days

I went to this hairdresser on Friday 8th June 2012 and it was the worst experience I have every had. I was looking forward to my visit. but it was so disappointing I was fuming when I left.
Alex the hairdress ( think he is also the owner) is the rudest man I have met - when I sat down he first asked if I had the voucher which was for a cut and blow dry for £. 19,00 - i handed it over to him. Then asked me what I wanted done - so i told him I wanted a tidy up and I had a picture of a cut I wanted to which he replied this is not for your hair and your length are different I can either cut it short or you let your layers grow and come again . I said I was not going to come again asked him how much he was cutting and agreed on it. he then cut my hair - it is horrible. When he started to blow dry it he was just using a paddle brush to which I told him can you please use a round brush so that I get some volume. he then said do not tell a hairdresser what to do - the hairbrush is just a tool - he did not even blow dry it properly by then he knew I was not happy . When he finished he asked me are you happy and I said no - he said okay then - you can go.
He is such a horrible man should not be in business.

I am another who does not usually write reviews but after reading all the comments on here I thought I really needed to.

I went to Eclipse today on one of the Wowcher £19 deals. I was nervous having read all the reviews here and elsewhere but when I made the booking on the phone Alex sounded very polite and friendly. I turned up 10 mins early and was welcomed into the salon. Alex (the owner) looked at my hair before washing at my given appointment time and was very chatty and friendly as were the 2 other hairdressers. He washed and treated my hair and has given me a brilliant cut and blow dry which I am very happy with. To be honest my experience was totally opposite from all the negative comments on here and I would have no hesitation in going back (actually I will as he offered me a free fringe cut whenever I want). There were 3 other clients in there while I was there and they all left with smiles on their faces and happy with the service and their cuts (I was obviously observing everyone due to all the negative comments on here). One woman in  particular who had terrible damaged hair gave the young chap cutting her hair a really hard time but he smiled all the way through and at the end she left looking great and very happy and even came back to give a tip.To get a cut, condition and blow dry in central London you are looking at price from at least £40 upwards and considering my treatment at Eclipse only cost me £19 it was a total bargain and to be honest I would have been happy to have paid £40 for the service.

I don't normally review salons but I felt I had to this time as the below reviews made me worried! The first thing I want to say is reading below it seems like people only write reviews because they have something bad to say - never good! I went to Eclipse yesterday evening for with a voucher for highlights, cut & glass of wine deal. It was the best cut and colour I've ever had. My hairdresser was very friendly and listened to me very carefully and gave me advice about my cut and which shade of blond would suit me. The manager even came over to check if everything was okay and introduced himself. I would definitely go back. Thanks a lot!

Establishment looked like it was going through refurb when I showed up for my appointment. The chap who worked on my hair was really friendly and helpful. Having had a Brazilian Blow Dry before, I expected to have my hair straightened after the treatment however in this salon they sealed the treatment by blow-drying it, followed up by straightening. Were the immediate result was good, the benefits of the treatment did not last as long as previously (perhaps this was due to their different approach?)

Location wise reasonably easy as its reasonable distance from goodge street.
Salon was as can expected for the price.
Stylist took the time to understand what I needed and I was reasonably happy with the result.

PLEASE DON’T GO HERE!!

I didn’t get a deal through Wahanda but since I know how popular the site is, I’m desperate to spread the word on how dire this salon is. I’d read reviews and was apprehensive but didn’t expect to be manhandled, hurled with abuse and for the guy in charge to huff out halfway through.

Following an initial consultation, I’d booked for a Brazilian Blowdry and spent the first hour getting a blowdry from a guy whose English (and guidance from management) was so poor that he gave me a blowdry with no Brazilian treatment in it…so we started all over again!

This time in what appeared to be the guy who was running the place’s hands…3 hours later I was keen to get a better understanding of how this was going to affect my hair, which is when things turned really nasty. I was called a liar and shouted at “I’ve not enjoyed doing your hair one bit, I wish you’d never walked in here” (ditto)….before he finally stormed off, to his own admission, before even finishing the job.

I can get over the fact that the salon was tatty and grimy, desperately disorganised and with empty product bottles and used hair foils strewed across on the floor. I can get over the fact that I wasn’t offered a drink, the conversation and magazine selection (c.2008/09) was dire, and that there wasn’t even a hook on the wall so my jacket was simply flung over the top of a door. I can get over the fact that misunderstandings happen, particularly with new staff, and that sometimes things don't go to plan.

I can sort of put up with the brutal shampoo, burnt scalp, straighteners that pinch your hair with every stroke and leave desperately dried out damaged hair. And by this point there’s a certain level of tolerance when hairclips constantly dropped on the floor get put straight back into your hair without a second thought…the best I could do was shut my eyes and did my best to hope that things would end soon.

However after paying for a service, you don’t expect the stylist to huff out halfway through and to receive abuse in return. Ultimately I ’m left with absolutely no understanding of what I should and shouldn’t be doing for the next 3 days, what I could expect from my hair afterwards and haven't received an advice on aftercare treatment. Go here at your peril!

Went for the brazillian blow dry treatment which I had had once before in another salon and thought it was brilliant, however that was not my experience here. Was kept waiting for 20mins even though only one person in the salon and the manager seemed more interested in going out for a freebie drink with a rep that had just turned up even though he said he didnt want any of their products.. Was finaly offered a drink but told if I wanted coffee they would have to go out and get milk!!! left me feeling that I was being a pain for not wanting it black.
The treatment itself was not what I had experienced, it turns out that it was all natural products(not the straightening beox brazillian blowdry) so not really long term straightnening. Left the salon with an ok blow dry and burnt ear from the straighteners, incorrect advice as to after care and hair condition that was even harder to blowdry than before the treatment!!!
This was the second time I had visited this salon thought it was a one off being bad the first time this just reconfirmed it, would not recommend you waste you money here.

Avoid at all costs. the 'salon' was grubby, staff inattentive and generally unpleasant. Also got messed about with my appointment day and time.I had a quick rethink about my requirements, having originally thought I'd have a good cut I changed to only wanting a light trim to remove split ends. Not even the wash was up to much, very rough, my hair was so tangled after and when dry my naturally straight, shiny hair managed to achieve a look of being frizzy yet lank at the same time.Dreadful place.

Avoid avoid avoid!

I have now had my appointment cancelled three times at very short notice by Eclipse, every time due to "staff sickness". The manager was extremely rude to me just now when I asked if there was a problem and requested a refund. I am now going through Living Social to extract a refund for my Brazilian blow dry, which I've been trying for months to arrange.

Though judging by the reviews on here I think I have had a lucky escape!

I wrote a review after coming here praising my experience of my Brazilian Blow Dry as all seemed well on the day. However after leaving the treatment on for four whole days and washing my hair (with the correct products) my hair is a dry frizzy mess. I've had the treatment before so knew what to expect and how to treat my hair afterwards and it's as if I never had it treated, if anything it's more dry and frizzy than before.

I've had to cut 2 inches off the length and have treatments to get it back into condition again. I would never have a Brazilian blow dry there again. I would have the treatment in the future but would research where I got it done thoroughly.

I purchased the Brazilian Blow Dry voucher, and was informed when I called up that the latest appointment was at 5.30pm so left work early to get there.

When I got the the hairdressers there was just one stylist there who was by the look of it only half way through someone elses blow dry treatment. The lady at the reception said it would be 45 mins or so, but from reading about the treatment and seeing where they were up to with the current customer I would have said it would be at least another hour.

I was not prepared to wait that long and was very disappointed that I left work early especially for that, the lady on reception did not seem at all concerned by the fact that they were running an hour late so I can only assume it happens all the time.

I wouldn't recommend a late appointment but as I work normal business hours nothing else works for me so I ended up getting a refund on my voucher. I can't comment on the actual treatment but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

This was my second brazilian blowdry treatment, the products used at this salon were far superior to the salon I had previously visited. The guy that did my treatment only does brazilian blowdrys all day so is an expert and really knew his stuff. The treatment took 4 hours due to my long hair but he made me feel at ease and chatted the whole way through. I would def go back again.

Went to Eclipse Hairdressing Covent Garden for a Brazilian Blow Dry and overall I'm happy with the results. I wanted to be able to wash my hair and go out without needing to style it. I will definitely have it done again.

I have had approx 4 brazilian blowdry's in total and this is the first time I have been to Eclipse.
The salon was quite sparse and for a Covent Garden salon I expected some thing more smart and clean.
The place clearly needs a good lick of paint and the toilets were very grubby! There was not even a mirror in the toilet and no hand towel!
The bb treatment itself was not like I have ever had done before.
After washing my hair the guy put on the product in a very slap dash way and applied most of the product to the ends of my hair as opposed to all over my hair.
The dryer was very hot and I had to ask them to turn down the temp.
The straightening and blow dry were ok but I knew the proof of the pudding would be 3 days later when I washed my hair and also what my hair was like first thing this morning.
To be honest my hair feels no major difference and usually after having a bb I can go to bed and get up with pretty straight hair.
This morning my hair was frizzy and kinked and I had to wash and blow dry it again to remove the frizz.
I am definitely going to ask Wahanda for a refund and am very disappointed!

I have previously written my review, but wahanda have asked me to submit again, so I am only going to add additional information.First off they dont have 3 venues they have 1. Camden town is a nail bar and fitzrovia belongs to someone else. Covent garden has 1 stylist. Not a lot for a covent garden salon eh? Yesterday Eclipse had the audacity to advertise on the Keynoir site to do brazilians blow dries, before even solving the problems of its current unhappy customers. Shame on them, continuing to take money from people when the treatment doesn't work. To add to it, the stylist is the biggest cack handed, head burning, sloppy, unprofessional clod going. Do not go here, just dont. PS Keynoir didnt print my comments, I guess money is more important than happy customers.

I have already written a review of this dreadful place, but got an email through from Wahanda to do a review - happy to reiterate what I wrote before.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a salon. I've had Brazilian Keratin treatments done before (elsewhere) with great success. I went in with shiny blonde hair and came out with 2.5 hours later having had a hairdryer dropped on my head with what looked like a good blow dry. When I washed it three days later I realised that my hair was in dreadful condition. I went in to get my money back and they put on this show of examing the hair and saying it was fine - when I protested I was shooed out of the salon. I went straight to an actual hair salon after this who said that my hair was indeed wrecked and that it ws so dry that they would not do a brazilian keratin treatment on it (to fix it!) without doing a strand test first. There are quite a few of us online who have unfortunately gone to this place and either been conned...or in my case....ended up with damaged hair. God only knows what 'product' they use, and they wash it out....I've checked with a few actual hairdressers since and they are not supposed to wash it out. For more information on my experience read my previous review - 8 reasons not to go to this dreadful place.
I also noticed something a bit telling when I went back in to have my hair assessed - the place was totally empty apart from the obnoxious manager, and the one stylist - very strange for a Saturday afternoon in Covent Garden.

My stylist Everett was a star, a true professional that takes a great pride in his work. I love my previous hair cut and the current treatment of brazilian blow dry was spot on. Thank you.

Shame there are not a few more members of staff...

Dear Soobee, don't be confused My purchase, and treatment happened by 4th May - I joined and wrote my review on 8th May. Admittedly I still had stars in my eyes from my previous visits when Alex (the manager - owner) was not in residence at Covent Garden and the lovely Zoe was.

This time I have to admit - the stuff they sprayed in my hair was at best ...water, at worst the cause of my current split ends and frizz. But just to mention it is not always the stylist fault when they are given strict limitations and no tools. Ev gave me a great cut the time before but god knows what colour he put in my hair as it washed straight out. Won't be going back.

I attended the covent garden salon yesterday for my brazilian bow dry and what can i say. I was already sooooo nervous after reading peoples reviews about this place however couldn't get a refund so had to attend.
I got there with both the staff members sat on the door step no looking busy at all....now i know why! Went in and got straight to it by washing my hair, he then put a treatment over my hair 'because it really needs it' however i dont feel that was the case... after he applied this treatment he took me back over to the station where he would be working WITHOUT A TOWEL TO STOP THE WATER DRIPPING ONTO MY CLOTHES and left me there for about 20 mins altho he told me he would only be leaving it on for 5 minutes. He disappeared back to his beloved doorstep to talk to his mate....

After the 20 minutes he came back to wash the treatment off my hair then to apply the product i had actually gone for... however the application of the product was slap dash without even blow drying the hair (which you are meant to do before applying the keratin product to the hair) he then put shower cap on my head and stuck me under a dryer for 30 mins...never seen this before either!
He then took me over to rinse the product out again which isn't suppose to happen (the stylist is meant to blow dry your hair with the product in!!!) before proceeding to spend about 30 mins blow drying my hair where he continually burnt my head with his very hot and broken hair dryer! I believe when blow drying the keratin into your hair it only has to be a rough blow dry no need to section and style as your doing it however he did and might i add none of the brushes had been cleaned like you would get in a normal professional salon, they all still had someone elses hair in them which made me feel physically sick, god knows who's hair was in those brushes.

After the drying finished he went on to straighten my hair and well that was just as bad, he held put sooooo much heat protection in my hair as he was doing it i could hair is sizzling as the straighteners glided down my hair...
Not only that he didnt straighten to back of the hair at the bottom of my neck as he didnt section it to be able to reach that area, he just straightened the ends of that section... whilst doing so, he burnt my scalp a number of times and got VERY close to burning my ears off.. By the time he got to the front of my hair i was flinching because i was sooo worried he was going to carry on burning me and HE EVEN COMMENTED ON MY FLINCHING!!!

I left the salon feeling like i had thrown away £65 and not only that but my hair wasnt at all shiny like it is AFTER I HAVE WASHED IT MYSELF AND STRAIGHTENED IT and it help like i had a whole bottle of serum on it!!

I was so upset i fought back the tears as i got back on the train (wasted more money getting a ticket to get there)

Complete waste of my time and money!! I will have to go and pay someone else now £150 to do it properly so all in all i have paid £215 for this treatment, i could have gone to a top celeb salon for that price!!

I had exactly the same experience as you, it was horrendous. I have since had my hair assessed by a real hairdresser and it is so damaged after this 'treatment'. There are a few of us who have written similar reviews and Wahanda have not been helpful. I think we may join together and complain collectively to get our money back. I tried to do it independently with no success.

Yes out of hospital, its touch and go at the moment, has some problems with the meds but I'm getting there!! Thanks for asking :)

Wahanda basically sorted out for a re-treatment to be done for me at a different salon. I had that on Friday and i am so pleased i went with that rather than getting a refund!

Ladies, if your looking to have it re-done, Wahanda do have a 40% off at this salon (Michael Barnes) It was such a nice experience!!
