Dyrham Park Country Club

Dyrham Park Country Club's 6,428 yard course presents a rich and varied challenge, with tree-lined fairways and several water hazards, and is known for its immaculate condition throughout the year. Designed by Robert Trent Jones and built in 1963 it tests and rewards golfers of all standards and is one of the most enjoyable Hertfordshire golf and country clubs.

Robert Trent Jones is world famous for designing courses such as Valderrama and Hazeltine (venue of the 2016 Ryder Cup) - as well as for remodelling the spectacular 11th and 16th holes at Augusta National - and many of his signature design styles are found at dyrham park.

The course reflects Jones' belief of "no risk, no reward". Numerous holes feature distinctive water hazards with the spectacular 7th tempting the brave with a 200-yard carry over a lake. The stretch of holes from 14-16 - known as "the loop" - can make or break a round, with water a danger on each hole, but with chances for birdies too.

Accurate driving and clear thinking are essential. Many holes present a choice of strategies from the tee: play safely for position or unleash a driver and hope to create a birdie chance. This makes the course hugely varied and enjoyable. The long par four 4th was originally a par five and requires two lusty blows, while the 9th and 18th are challenging par fours climbing back up the hill to the magnificent clubhouse.

While the Club enjoys all the latest facilities, it retains many age-old golf club traditions, among them being the traditional 'roll up' on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Players are always guaranteed a game at this Hertfordshire golf club.
