My massage was very good, would have liked the therapist to have worked on my knots and tried to crack them out a little more as I suffer badly from knots. Pressure was good, although I do like a firmer massage. Very friendly staff. Will return.

Efficient and generous - had an amazing head massage along with the deep conditioning treatment, tea and biscuits, then a lovely new style for my hair and the best blow dry finish I have ever had. As I have curly hair, I usually don't like finishing my hair with products or blow drying- but the blow dry here made my hair look amazing and feel so soft - I highly recommend!

This place is a real gem. I have been here a few times now and the service and quality of treatments given is fantastic. My hot stone massage was so good, and would highly recommend to anyone, she's such a great therapist. Roya also did my hair for me a few days prior and it was a special request colour by myself - blended dip dye, and I am so delighted with it. She was so attentative, she discussed it at lengths with me before hand and just fantastic at her job. Exceeded my expectations! Thank you.

This is a basic salon; The atmosphere is very casual, however I don't mind about that - the main thing I care about is the cleanliness, which was good, and above all the quality of my treatment (pedicure) which was that excellent as they don't have proper instruments and my feet wasn't clean as I expected.
The staff is very friendly .

I had the cleansing facial this time (first time i had the antiaging 90 min facial). It was lovely. Had a coffee when i arrived, then enjoyed Barbara's lovely facial and went home with a clean, well moisturized face. The place itself is lovely, a local hair dressers and beauty salon. Clean and tidy. the treatment room is a nice size as well.
highly recommend.

I have been to Duchess to have a "Shellac Manicure and Pedicure": when I have actually got there, instead of Shellac the brand they used was actually Gelish: I know it has the same result, but I think they should call the treatment "Gelish Manicure and Pedicure", to be fair to the customers.
The appointment I had chosen on the Wahanda website was actually not available (even though it was on Wahanda), so the therapist called me to move it back, but it clashed with another customer, but luckily they managed not to make me wait too long; I think though that they should update their availability on Wahanda more often and carefully, so that this does not happen again.
Two therapists looked after me: a lady who did the foot scrub and the toes cut and file and another one who did the manicure and the Gelish on both my toes and fingers.
I have to say I didn't enjoy the toes cut and file very much: my toes were actually filed "pointy" and I had to file them again when I got back home; which leads to my second complaint about my treatment: when I filed them at home, the gelish on some toes actually peeled off literally, and I had to "glue" it back on my nails with some top coat - nevertheless, after some days the polish "fell" anyway, and if you think I was on holiday and wearing sandals and open shoes all the time, I had to have a new pedicure while away because I was too conscious of my polish-less tips!
The hands were ok - no polish falling off - but I think they should definitely have more colours in store (when I have visited, they had only 4 shades of Gelish!)
Given my experience above, I am afraid I do not think I will go back to Duchess any time soon.

Gelish (by Nail Harmony) is very similar to Shellac in that it is applied in the same way - and wears in the same way - like a polish that does not chip. What I have found however, that it can last a little longer - 3 weeks in many cases. I think this is due to the fact that there seems a little more strength in each of the layers.
What Gelish does have extra - is an additional product in its range called Structure. What this allows you to do is to add additional support to the nail to add extra strength - and also lets you add the correct structure to the nail (those of with Ski jump nails or damaged nails) to make it look more "normal".
Gelish does remove in a similar way to Shellac - but I think takes a minute or two longer - perhaps due to the slight additional strength in the product. As the top coat is acetone resistant you need to buff the top coat off first (which is not needed with Shellac) - so if the quickest and easiest soak off is important for you then Shellac may be better.

Can you file Gelish after application ?
This is not recommended as it breaks the seal and the nails will chip.

Roya is amazing at blow drying, she is one of the only people who can do a curly blow dry on me and it last all day.
I highly recommend.

Had a very good facial at the Duchess. The products that she used suit my sensitive skin and she gave me a lovely neck and shoulder massage too.
