I have been a member for the past 10 years. I mainly use the club to play tennis. I am also a vantage member, which means I have access to all other clubs. David Lloyd has got from bad to worse and David Lloyd Raynes Park is the worst by a mile. Tennis only happens if you attend one of their overpriced clinics, as booking a court is almost as difficult as winning the lottery. 4 courts have been refurbished, the rest is dirty and full with holes. The new courts are mainly used by the Coaches NOT members as one would expect. Most of the Coaches have been there since the dark ages and are only interested in making sure they have their regular paying group of people every week to guarantee their income. NEW COMERS not welcome. Could upset group, meaning coach looses his regular income! One coach in particular springs to mind - the one who acts like he owns the club and behaves with his group of middle aged adults like a bunch of kids who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder! I have never posted an online review and I realise getting personal is not the name of the game. However, I pay 126 gbp a month for a club that is dirty, acts as a creche for most of the time, employs mostly rude and uneducated staff and does everything in their power to make your visit as difficult and unpleasant as possible. So I finally decided to leave the club. There are many more clubs out there! Providing a much better service.

Lovely friendly staff, which is a surprise for a health club. Clean facilities and a great offer of classes as well as activities for children. LOVE the outdoor pool.

My husband have been members at David Lloyd Raynes Park for about 18 months. We joined mainly for the tennis and we had a ball. We attended 'clinics' every week to play with like minded people of a similar standard and we loved it. Then it was decided with no consultation that having fun and playing tennis was not what they were about. The only option suddenly was 12 week courses, paid for up front because 'that's the only way you'll improve'. 'Maybe we just want to enjoy playing tennis with like minded people' we said. 'Then you are of no interest to us' they said. The fact that we were paying a fortune every month meant nothing. The head of tennis was unbelievably rude and patronising when we questioned him. We still have to pay 3 months notice, despite the fact we are no longer receiving the things we signed up for. Disgraceful.

I have been a member here for two years and visit at least three times a week.. The facilities are fantastic. Very new and modern exercise equipment and plenty of it! You will never have to wait to use a machine, which is a problem I have experienced in other gyms. In the warmer months, you can swim in a lovely outdoor pool which is a real treat in London. Unfortunately, the front desk staff do not live up to the standard that you would expect I have found them to be quite rude and stand-offish at times, which really lets the gym down. It's also pretty pricey. I pay £90 per month, and that is without tennis, but I justify that by making the most of facilities and classes.
