The staff were helpful and professional. The pool was very noisy with children due to being half term which we didn't realise when booking. It was calm and peaceful during the spa treatment which was great. The package deal we had was very good value for money.

This Spa package was AMAZING value for money and overall very good. Massage, food and bedroom all very good. Only downfall was the lack of pool beds.

We booked this spa break as a chance to relax after Christmas and before the new year began. For £106 each for a two night stay inclusive of breakfast on both days, dinner on one night, two treatments and full use of facilities, we were not expecting anything amazing, and were just happy to be getting away! However, we were very pleasantly surprised with the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, and with the Dartmouth Spa. The hotel staff were all very polite, professional and well presented. The hotel itself was immaculate, well decorated and had a lovely warm atmosphere. Our room was also incredibly clean, it smelt nice and looked newly refurbished. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night and the food was the only thing that we would have changed - there was nothing in particular wrong with it, but it just wasn't as good as it could have been. We went for our treatments the next morning, and we were very impressed with the quality of the spa - it had been recently refurbished and just like the hotel, it was immaculate. There was a nice reception, a lovely little relaxation room and plenty of space for treatments. My partner and I had back massages in a double therapy room at the same time which was nice. The therapists we were assigned were good, albeit a little shy and not as confident as I would have liked, but this did not spoil the experience, and their massages were very good. We used the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna after our treatments, and this was lovely. The pool is surrounded by large floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy the view as you relax, and the sauna and steam room are both large and well designed. We would definitely go back to the Dartmouth for a similar break.

Came for a spa day with my mum last Saturday. Was greeted by very friendly staff both at reception and the therapist. The receptionist was very helpful sorted out our lunch, timings and robes very professional. The new refurbishment is much improved, the relax room is a great addition and the new pool area is bright and perfectly finished. Both myself and my mum had a deep tissue massage which despite what the other reviews said lasted a whole hour, the therapists were friendly and amazing and i will defiantly be coming back.
The changing rooms did let the spa down, however i spoke to the manager Sam who was very polite and willing to help, she assured me that they were being looked into and being redesigned.
overall a great spa day, great value for money would recommend to all friends and family.

Far too many people trying to use the facilities for it to be anything but tranquil. Nowhere to relax as all seats round pool taken. Other relaxation areas in use by others in between treatments. Lunch served at 19th hole which was busy with aspiring Ryder Cup winners, not particularly comfortable for those of us hanging out in fluffy dressing gowns, flip flops and no make up! Food was average. Overpriced and overbooked.

Dear Susan

I was saddened to hear you didn't enjoy you're experience here at the Dartmouth Spa.
We have been extremely busy since the refurbishment with so many people wanting to enjoy the brand new surroundings and with only a limited amount of 10 loungers available due to our size of spa, these can often be in use.
The lunch however is not served at 'the 19th hole' but in The Dartmouth bar and bistro, our dinning facility for all guests.
This does get shared by hotel guests ,golfers and spa guests as we are under the umbrella of' The Dartmouth Hotel ,Golf and Spa'
We do however tell all spa day guests that it is entirely up to themselves to wear their robes upstairs as they can change if they uncomfortable, which you were more than welcome to do so.
In regards to us being overpriced,i would very much disagree.
The most expensive spa day we have is just £69 per person this is for a 1 hr massage , 30 mins facial, full use of facilities,2 course lunch with a glass of bubbly and robes and flips flops.
In the area you would be expected to pay over double the price for this at the other spas.

Regards
Sam

Only problem was attitude of morning Receptionist (Sam). We had a 9.30am spa treatment booked. Lastminute.com information stated room to be vacated by 11am whereas room information said 10am. Before breakfast I went to find receptionist to check if we could stay in room until 11am. As I was approaching reception a young lady passed me in opposite direction. She could easily have asked me if I was making my way to reception because it was goijng to be unstaffed for a few minutes - but she didn't. I waited and called out - to no avail -and then left. The young lady passed me again, presumably on way back to Reception and I asked her if she was reception staff, explaining my problem. She said baldly, "Well (Lastminute.com), that's wrong". She agreed to advise housekeeping to leave our room until 11am. However, her attitude left a lot to be desired. She could have said, with a smile on her face, "I'm sorry about the confusion. Not a problem, I can arrange for housekeeping to leave your room for an hour". Also, when we vacated the hotel, she just took our key without a thanks for staying, have a pleasant journey, etc. After a lovely stay with excellent service in the restaurant, good accommodation and spa, this left a bad impression..

Dear Janet,
Many thanks for your recent feedback.
I am delighted that enjoyed your stay and your experience in the spa and restaurant.
Please accepted my sincere apologies for the confusion and misleading information you were given regarding check out times. I was also very disappointed to hear of the poor service you received from one of our receptionists, I can assure you this is not the manner in which customers are addressed. I have spoken to the person responsible, who has apologised for leaving the reception desk, but more importantly, the manner in which she spoke to you when dealing with your enquiry.
Receiving constructive feedback from clients allows us to review our practices to enhance the future customer experience.
Thank you again for your comments

What a great week-end!!! Just spent a week-end at the DGGC with my girlfriend. A Pamper Week-end with 2 spa treatments, a 2 course meal bed and breakfast. Great location, great accommodation and weather was gorgeous!!

The location was absolutely fabulous with a greenery all around and our room overlooked the golf course- stunning.

Arrived late on Saturday and then experienced 2 spa treatments - a massage and facial for a couple absolutely marvellous provided by 2 great staff.

Dinner in the evening was in the restaurant and the food and wine were excellant and once again the staff and particular a very young lady were very attentive. I should of taken her name to commend her personally as she was fantastic even after a long shift.

Breakfast was also very nice and relaxing on the balcony in the sun.

The only issue I have is with the quality of a member of staff when checking out who was unable to deal with my bill query satisfactorily but this will not detract from the rest of the visit. Well done all for a very relaxing and hot week-end for dealing with our every need.

Excellent facility with really friendly and helpful staff. Lunch was very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Very good value. Best massage I have ever had. Only negative comment is that changing rooms are too small.

Very enjoyable spa day...we went as a group for a hen spa day...Couldnt fault it.
The spa manager Sam and her team were very attentive and we all had a really smooth day with our treatments being so relaxing.
The value for money for our day was great ,we had a back massage each, use of facilities, robes and flips flops plus a afternoon tea each and glass of champagne- all for £39 each.
As head bridesmaid this was the best value I found in the area.
Only thing I would say is more seating would be helpful as we could only all sit together as a group of 10 upstairs in the restaurant.
I will be returning!!!

i was so very upset by the state of the cleanliness,,especially when the manageress and some staff seemed indifferent to my requests for someone to take a look at this area?? The ladies who did my treatment seemed very nice but I was party to far too much personal information about what the 'girl' in charge and her new boyfriend had been up to the previous weekend at a wedding!! even the therapist looked embarrassed!! with stronger leadership and more attention to detail this place could be amazing but it was not up to scratch when we were there and my two colleagues agreed.l
