First visit to Daisy's and I'm impressed. Lovely friendly staff, Claudia did my nails and they look amazing. Only slight negative is that the apt was half hour late but it was a Friday eve and they were busy. All the staff acknowledged me and I was offered refreshments while I was waiting so it wasn't a problem. Will definitely be back.

Excellent experience, great nails and a very relaxing environment. Salon is clean and comfortable and technician was very precise, really pleased.

I was looking for a new nail salon after recently moving to Brighton, I found Daisy's nail company and thought it looked nice and the nail art on the website looks good. I got nail extensions a couple of weeks ago and was happy with them and the staff. However this morning whilst I noticed that my index nail extension was starting to come away- no surprise as I hadn't had time to get them filled and realised that they had passed their expiry. I have had nail extensions many times and know how to gently remove them with a solution that I have at home and so I did.
However upon removing two of the nails I noticed some strange stains- after cleaning and scrubbing my nails the stains remained and they look kind of green. I decided to google this as I had no idea what to make of it- turns out I have a bacterial infection called pseudomonas and after much research have found out from several sources that when you have gel/ acrylic nails the cause is due to lack of cleanliness when preparing the nail/ extensions, such as ' if the surface of the nail is not cleaned thoroughly before attaching the acrylic. Using files and buffers that have not been properly sanitized also increases the risk of infection.'

To be honest I am pretty horrified. I am now stuck with two unsightly nails, luckily for me they don't seem to be as bad as the horrors on google image search, but it's bad enough. I have never had this before from all the times and various places I have had my nails done.

Seeing as it didn't take me much to find out about this type of infection on google, I would expect that your salon and its staff to be well aware of it and making every effort to prevent this type of infection happening (along with any others)!
I would strongly advise that your company takes this situation as a learning curve to better understand and up your current salon hygiene.

I am bitterly disappointed as I thought I had found myself a nail salon to attend regularly in Brighton but I will not be coming back and have now got to dish out even more money on a treatment for my nail. I have never bothered to leave a review on anything before- let alone a bad one but I honestly feel this is deserved as quite frankly poor hygiene in a nail salon is just disgusting!

Dear Natalie! You told me on the email you were impressed how clean we are and we were even doing deep cleaning while you were there!
You have visited us only 1 time and we are very sorry it has happened to you! But we do sterilise and prepare everything properly! We have 1000 customers a month visiting us and nobody ever has had any problems! After you emailed me about this issue, I disposed all open gels and brushes so YES we do care very much about our and our customer health! We use the salon to do our own nails, I would never let this happen! It could be condensationing under the extensions and it could be not even our fault!
Really sorry again!

Nails still looking great after 2 weeks. Very happy with total experience. Salon was nice & clean and staff friendly. Will definitely be going back again.

Shabby and disappointing! Did not look like pictures the white paint was dirty and the lighting was worse than a hospital, very uncomfortable. My nails chipped half and hour after leaving even though I was told they would last 3 days. Not good!

Very sorry to hear this, as I have invested all my finances being a very young lady (27) and tried my best to make it as nice as possible with the budget allowed. We do repaint and do improvements every week. Despite some little marks on the white paint we are extremely hygienic, efficient and offer way more than other companies. Even if you spend £7 we use a scented hot towels, hand cream and cuticle oil and OPI polish to make you feel delighted, unfortunately regular polish dries half a day and everybody needs to be careful.
Personally I always wear gel polish and it last without chipping till the nails grow out :)
I would like to offer for you to come back and try our quality gel polish for the sales price only £15 and it will last at least 3 weeks, instantly dry and chip free :)

Really excellent foot massage and scrub, feet felt wonderful afterwards. And Daisy's serves good coffee. My only criticism is that the radio station doesn't play relaxing music (unless you are in to chart pop).

Thank you Cathy, I appreciate your review but our salon as you know is very modern and up beat and we are very artistic and young, so relaxing music we only play in the spa area downstairs. When you come next time let us know what you like to listen and make sure you book during the week when it's not that crowded please so we can offer more relaxing atmosphere. Happy new year

I had booked an appointment the day before my birthday for a treat. Unfortunately I did not get to have any treatment because my appointment was cancelled with only 2 hours notice, despite having booked three weeks in advance, due to double booking. An alternative appointment the following day was offered (with no offer of any compensatory discount for the very short notice cancellation), but I was unable to make this. After pointing out that my appointment was made weeks ago they said they would try to cancel the other person. I was then called back and told the appointment was on after all. However, shortly afterwards I was called again (now only 30 mins before appointment) to be told the other customer 'could not be moved'. Why I apparently could be moved and they couldn't was unclear - evidently I am less important! It is both rude and unprofessional to waste a new customer's time in this manner, and I will certainly not be returning.

It's was not a double booking it was extreme busy day the 30th Dec and other customers where delaying us so if we would serve you we would end up finishing at 9pm!
We very kindly tried many time to even offer you to do your nails the next day even before out salon opens, we had a nice conversation on the phone and explained what's and why, and your words were: yes I understand and things like that happen"
Why leave a damaging review when you even havet had our service?
Your review is not helpfult to any customer or our business!

In reply to Daisy: I was told by the first person who called me that it was a double booking which they had only just noticed - I am only passing on what I was told. Given that wahanda is a site dedicated to offering advance, online appointments it seems to me very relevant to let other customers know that, for your business, appointments may be cancelled at very short notice even when booked weeks in advance. I had organised my other plans that day around this appointment and the last minute cancellation was very disruptive. It rather astonishes me that you think that calling me 2 hours before my scheduled appointment an offering me an alternative appointment, on a different day, at a time that is convenient for you and not me, is "very kind" of you. However, if other customers on this site disagree and do not think it's a big deal to have appointments cancelled at the last minute then this review should not hurt you at all.

Thank You for your reply, as I sad as it sounds people really relay on star rating without reading the details, as I said I would appreciate so much if you could come back and we could offer you a luxury treatment of your choice to prove we are worth it :)
I am just 27 and with 3 little kids and I do all my best to make a difference to this industry and care for peoples nails and beauty than some other companies. Please accept again our apologies and hope you could visit us, please email or text me :)

When I arrived I was told they were running 15 minutes late and asked if I could return later in the day. I was made to feel like I was being difficult because I couldn't move my appointment. As I waited I was not offered a drink or magazine to read.
When I finally got my nails done my therapist filled into the skin on my fingers twice, I found the whole experience to be rushed.

Mixed review, as the staff were friendly but on arrival I realised that they don't use Shellac as they advertise, so I was apprehensive that the gel wouldn't be as good. However I was pleasantly surprised by the result, my nails look really good. Main disappointment was when I got home to use the OPI cuticle oil pen I had been persuaded to buy and realised it was so fake! Looking at the pen closely, the spelling of most of the ingredients is incorrect and the packaging has no barcode and more spelling mistakes etc. I feel a bit fooled now as I would be surprised if they were selling them without knowing they're fake as it's so obvious when you look closely, so I wouldn't go back for this reason.

Thank You so much, our priority's are happy customers, that's why we are extremely busy, I suggest you to visit us during the week Tuesday-Thursday the we are more relaxed, we are open from 10-7pm and if you extremely require we can open at 9am -8pm :)
