Fantastic hotel with serene surroundings and a very cool ambiance as most Soho Houses around the globe. This one is a bit more relaxing. The only point I have to make on top of other reviews is use the Spa and get some treatments as they are very good. We, my wife and I, had a facial and a massage and were both very impressed comparing this to many other English, Asian, International venues. Second point is that the Spa rooms are beautiful and while pricy actually good value as you get a really big room with living room and the feel of your own little house with view over the English gardens. Wonderful!

Gorgeous, relaxing, and even though I went with my gal pal I could see why so many couples choose the Babington House as their wedding venue. It's beautiful and serene.
Our room was gorgeous and cosy. If you luck out with the weather, there's tennis and loads of jogging tracks. If not, then there's the gorgeous cowshed spa.
The spa is separated into Active and Relaxation. The active spa has an indoor and an outdoor heated pool, in addition to a sauna, aroma room and steam room. At the time of our stay, the aroma room and the sauna were out of order. Indefinitely. A bit of a let-down, but if you have booked in for a treatment at the relaxation spa, you could use the amazingly atmospheric sauna in there. It has wonderful views overlooking the vegetable garden at the back of the spa.
Cowshed facial (60 mins, £65): Great feeling and smelling products. Therapist spent ample time massaging face and head. Thoroughly relaxing and skin felt gret afterwards. As I get frequent microdermabrasion done she made sure to gently exfoliate and didn't do unneccesary extractions. No sticking me under the steamer for ages and wandering off either. The therapy room was very nicely done up too keeping to the spa's rustic theme.
Cowshed Pedicure (60 mins, £46): Cute pedicure station, equipped with little tv screens playing Devil Wears Prada on the day, with views over aforementioned veggie garden at the back of the spa. Therapist was very friendly and did a great job on cuticles, nail shape and painting. She also included exfoliation and a relaxing massage.
Cowshed Wrap (75 mins, £80): Wrap included body brushing, exfoliation, a body mask and wrap and all over moisturisation. While the wrap was on for 10 mins, the therapist gave me a head and shoulder massage. Room has a shower in it too so did not need to prance around all muddy getting in and out of showers.

Tips: don't forget your bathing suit!

Aaaaah.... not even being close-to-breakup with the boyfriend I went with could spoil the weekend, perfect place to relax, go for walks, have the bubbliest baths in the world and generally smile. The whole area is fabulous, cute local pubs and lots of fields. Only possible downside is the pool can tend to be swarming with children - good or bad depending on your perspective!

Babington House deserves its reputation as the UK's best boutique hotel as offers its guests the very best of everything - ambience, rooms, gardens, surrounding countryside and people watching - in a relaxed, laid back way. The Cowshed is an excellent spa - the pool is simply fabulous - with great therapists, although I received my treatments in one of the Mongolian Huts. Whilst a nice concept, I actually prefer the more traditional treatment room - white, tranquil and luxurious. Overall though - LOVELY!!

Surrounded by fields and with a small lake, Babington House is the perfect spot to get away from any busy schedule and relax. I had a Holistic Massage at the Cowshed spa where I was led by a therapist into a small tent by the lake close to the spa. The tent and the massage were both equally relaxing, with scented candles surrounding the massage bench, and a well qualified therapist, combining for a truly soothing experience.
Babington House is great to unwind with family or friends, however, if you are planning on going with small children, then be aware that there are specific children hours- this can be quite limiting, but does allow for adults to go and relax out of these hours. There is also a creche for small children if you want to have time away from it all!
If it is your first time to Babington House and the Cowshed, try out the Eucalyptus steam room by the inside pool, and also grab a hammock by the lake for a chill out.

Babington House is an oasis - top quality in every sense and surrounded by fields. I have heard it described as 'Notting Hill gone west', which is pretty accurate. When I was there last a model walked into the dining room in hotpants and very high platforms and didn't look remotely out of place! The food and wine is exceptional, the treatments are gorgeous and the experienced therapists are proud and happy to work there. I have stayed several times, always with girlfriends. The only downside is that they don't have very many twin-bedded rooms available so you need to book early if you're after a twin-bedded room. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully done and everything is so restful. Highly recommended and an example of England doing something of truly world class standard.
