I was booked in for a Brazilian blowdry at Selfridges. I got a great mobdeal, it cost £80 and the value was £200. The guy who did my hair was very friendly and looked after me throughout. The procedure was 2 hours long, started with a hair wash, followed by the keratin application. This was then followed by a blowdry and then straighten. When I had my last blowdry the keratin made my eyes burn, this was at Toni and Guy but this time I had no problems, just a pleasant chocolate smell. I am looking forward to Wahanda running another mobdeal on this so I can book it again.

I found out my usual hairdressers' closed down so took a gamble and tried out Cobella in Kensington (I've been to the Tony & Guy on Kensington Church Street and wasn't impressed).
Initial impression: clean, sleek, nice smiley staff
Hairdresser: Clayton is a nice guy, efficient and gave me loads of tips on how to keep my hair healthy, on top of giving me a good new cut. He didn't try to hard sell any products but did mention a few that would be suited to me (which is a relief as I'm not very tolerant of hard selling). He styled my hair using no product at all and i've never seen it looking so healthy and shiny. Must be the way he uses the drier but it's nice to see that I don;t have to overload my hair anymore
Facilities: the main floor is very nice, tidy and sleek in appearance. But since all the wash basins were occupied i was taken downstairs which is a bit grotty - hence i gave it a 3/5 ranking. Not sure if they are working on it or not, but it didn't do much harm to my whole hair-washing experience since i doze off for a few minutes anyway
Value: £65 for a cut and blow dry by a senior stylist is steep but I had a good experience and will go back as I left with an awesome head of hair
Other: The manicure station is just by the door and doesn't look all that - i wasn't tempted to get my nails done

Great salon and friendly therapist, good location. The Brazilian blowdry treatment was pleasant and well executed by Kristina, nice tea and chat. The salon is smart and clean which goes a long way. I only had the treatment done last week ad to be honest I did not enjoy having flat and poker hair straight for three days and I don't really notice any difference in my hair after having washed it with the special shampoo and conditioner but maybe this is because my hair is only shoulder length? I will see how it goes but so far better as a conditioning treatment than anything else. I was surprised to be offered shampoo and conditioner for sale with sodium laureth sulphate in which I thought was a big no no for hair after this treatment so encourage the salon to check this. I would go back for regular cuts and colour but not sure about this treatment.

I went for my first Brazilian Blow Dry here. Salon is very nice, stylish, clean and comfortable. Only negative was that I was kept waiting for 10 minutes past my appointment time - annoying when you have rushed from work to be there on time. Very comfortable seats for washing hair. Person doing the treatment was brilliant, very nice and friendly and explained the treatment. It didn't take as long as I feared - around one hour 20 (hair is quite long). Had to buy special shampoo and conditioner for the special keratin process, over £30 which was annoyingly pricey but then the blow dry was only £80 through this site and I have seen it advertised at closer to £200 normally so it's still a very good deal. It's a pain that you can't get the hair wet for 3 days afterwards - that includes sweating during exercise so next time I'm going to get it done during the week when I don't work out.

My stylist was great, very friendly and professional. The salon was nice but a little dull and magazines and a drink only offered to me after being there for over 30 minutes. Overall though I am very pleased with the results and my hair looks amzing. I would definitely have it done again but possibly at the selfridges branch.
