Beautiful building and gardens, great food and friendly staff
Pool overcrowding spoilt chance to relax , jacuzzi luke warm and organisation a bit lapse
Overall good value for money but missed wow factor
I had a lovely day at Champneys Henlow. The staff were friendly and approachable. The refreshments were very high quality and the lunch buffet was outstanding. I had an aromatherapy wrap which was very relaxing. The jacuzzi and pool facilities were good, as was the steam room and laconium (drying room). The only negative I have is the changing facilities. There are no cubicles to get changed in, and the locker rooms were quite small. In the morning I was getting changed by a locker and a member of staff kept knocking on the door to show people round. This made me feel very uncomfortable.
Only slight drawback but on arrival they give you flip flops and not slippers. 2 out of the 5 in our party don't wear them because they are not comfortable. Slippers had been given on previous visits.
It's a lovely venue with incredibly welcoming and attentive staff. Some parts (the women's changing rooms for example) were a little run-down looking, but overall it was a lovely day.
