We were really looking forward to our spa break which was sold as as a"Sunday Night Spa Replenish Break" There was, unfortunately nothing replenishing about it. The Lygon Arms in Broadway is a lovely old hotel albeit very tired now and in desperate need of some attention, particularly the dining room, which to be honest was very tired and very dusty. A good clean would be a start. I have to also say the food was very average which surprised me for a hotel of that calibre. However we went on this break as it was advertised as a spa break and that was just what we needed. To be called this was nothing short of mis-sold. The Hotel does not have a spa it had a pool (very cold) , a jacuzzi that was warm but the jets did not work, the sauna was a small sauna straight off some very tired changing rooms and the steam room was out of order. So our spa day was sitting on one of six beds (thank goodness we got one) by the pool for an hour. The pool area was also dated and tired and not particular well cleaned and cared for. The break also included a full body massage, so we were at the very least looking forward to that bit. This was not to be either as the Spa team had made an error with the bookings so we were unable to have our treatments. To be honest regardless of the mistakes made , this trip should have been sold as dinner , bed and breakfast with a massage. It was not and could never be a Spa replenish break in my opinion. The hotel were very apologetic and did refund us the massage cost. Still we left very disappointed and rather than feeling replenished when we returned we felt stressed and disappointed.

The staff were welcoming and the treatments were excellent, however we were disappointed that the steam room was out of order and the saunas were in the changing rooms so we couldn't use them as a couple, and there was a problem with the hot water so I had to finish my experience with a cold shower. Felt that for the price, the hot drinks should come in a mug not a plastic cup. The lunch was delicious and good value for money as part of the package.

I would not recommend at all. Boiler was broken so no hot water for showers. Jacuzzi was cold until 11am and then didn't function properly. Steam room was out of order. Treatment should have been 30minutes and was only 20minutes. We ordered food at 9am for a noon lunch and it still did not arrive until 12.40pm. We were not allowed to eat in the restaurant so had to eat lunch off a coffee table, virtually on our laps! Not good at all.

The Lygon Arms is stunning so I was probably doubly disappointed in the facilities. The ladies changing rooms need a really good clean, the robes were extremely tired and smelt like they had been dried near a frying pan. Again the loungers looked stained and most were covered with a previous guests hair, as we were there at 9am I am assuming these were from the day before. Finally the jacuzzi didn't work
What was great were the lovely staff, fantastic facial and a really delicious lunch. Overall I paid £70 for 2 of us so was good value but would have been severely overpriced at full price.

Pool is OK and large steam room. Not many loungers and coffee/ soft drinks lounge - with no coffee is not very appealing. Some machines in gym dated and screens on treadmills not working. Poor service in bar though food was OK. Treatments not very good - repetitive massage with no attention to areas highlighted and despite being asked. Very polite young man at reception. Good parking facilities.

1) Not given the room key after our check-in. Had to ask receptionist who was occupied on the phone. 2) Only one of the two radiators were working in our room. 3) Restaurant was freezing cold on the 1st night. Heating not working !! Almost left. Most diners actually put their coats on. Ruined the evening for us. No reimbursement or apology was offered. Very poor indeed. 4) Main course took over 50 minutes to arrive and was over cooked. 5) Spa hot tub not working. According to comments, it had not been working since before xmas ! 6) Toilet in spa locker room would not flush. Handle mechanism broken. 7) Tried to over charge me by £30 on checking out. Apparently for a bottle of wine we had not had... Nice building though.

Agency beautician who was unsure of the facial, late starting and then rushed me out of the treatment room half dressed - not good.

Thoroughly enjoyable weekend, with friendly and accommodating staff. The aromatherapy massage was brilliantly relaxing. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was great. I would highly recommend a visit.

The Lygon Arms strikes the right balance between comfort and feeling like you are somewhere special. The building itself has plenty of history and has been sympathetically renovated to retain the feeling of stepping back in time. There are plenty of little lounges, some with open fires, that give guests the opportunity to sit comfortably and enjoy the place. The food was top notch and the staff attentive without being intrusive. Every single member of staff we encountered seemed genuinely passionate about their role and more than willing to make your stay special. The spa is very well run and the treatments excellent. My favourite part of our stay was enjoying the pool (almost to ourselves) in the evening, swimming beneath the canopy of the night sky and colour change lighting. Thank you to everyone there who made our stay so memorable.

A fantastic spa day with a treatment and afternoon tea included. Great value with our last minute.com deal. Afternoon tea was delicious and included a good variety. Spa was clean with good facilities. It was a posh place but made everyone feel welcome.

The only thing good about this spa day was the excellent massage. The reception staff were not very helpfull. The pool very small and cold. Zaccuzi hot but no bubbles sauna cold even water machine was broken. The lunch was good until I found a hair in the salad and my friend asked what the fish of the day was was given the incorrect information, when we mentioned this to spa reception staff they just shrugged their shoulders.

Brilliant place. Did pilates class in the gardens, had fantastic lunch and the treatment of full body massage and facial was wonderful. Free coffee, tea and juice. Shame the spa receptionist didn't have a professional image and didn't seem to have full knowledge to answer all our questions.
