Terrible staff. The hotel staff were lovely but the "spa" was a joke. I made 2 complaints on the day which fell on deaf ears.

Really helpful and friendly staff. Lovely warm relaxation room and treatments were of high quality. Pool was sparklingly clean and warm - seems that the renovation works were of a good standard. The gym was also very easy to use. We had wonderful food included in our package and our room was great. Overall a great value break. Would go there again!

They didn't even book me in after paying through Lastminute.com-there was no record of my purchase and I am still waiting for a refund. Customer service was extremely poor as they were clueless as of what to do with me.

There was no one to greet us when we arrived nor was there a way to notify anyone that we had arrived. The room we waited in had tea and coffee but the water for tea was tepid and the coffee was empty, the cups were not clean and there were no teaspoons. The therapists did their treatments to perfection and once we found someone to show us around he was extremely attentive and a lovely guy (Chris I believe)
Overall there was no ambiance in the waiting room, music was added later in the day which was better. Tea and coffee supplies were allowed to run out, one thing after another, dirty crockery and cutlery piled up on all tables, it could be that they were short staffed, but once highlighted to the staff they attended to things - eventually but events overtook the one guy doing it all.
It would have been better to have had a treatment then put on dressing gowns rather than having to get dressed again to only then have to undress for the spa. It was very dis-jointed.
The whole building was very unloved and in need of modernisation and updating. The toilet had rubbish all over the floor which I put in the bin, the decor was old and therefore looked dirty and aged in most areas, the pool area felt grubby and you had to walk through with shoes on to get to the changing rooms, the therapy rooms were good however.
The visit was for my daughters 18th and we stayed positive and had an enjoyable shared time together. The voucher was incredibly good value if you were able to overlook the shortcomings of the surroundings and staffing.

I wouldn't go back unless they had a major refurbishment. Great, easy location to get to. Staff were friendly. Had to collect robe and slippers from the gym reception. They were picked up from the floor behind the reception area. I was shown where everything was. The beauty rooms lead to the relaxation room. You had to walk thru the gym to get to the pool, sauna and steam room.I thought my luck was in until I saw the state of the floor, walls, ceiling, handles. Around the swimming pool and floor in all the areas where the grout should be was mouldy and dirty. The tiles around the floor and the sides of the swimming pool, floor of the sauna and steam room had dirt and scum on them. The handles of the shower heads and nobs on it was dirty. there were chairs around that looked out of place. Tiles were cracked and broken. Fixtures were rusting. All of the areas looked like they needed a good scrub including the female changing rooms. One of the shower cublicles had run out of shower gel. One woman was even soaking her bathing costume in the only basin available in the main changing area. The relaxation room was nice. It's a shame 2 women came in, 1 talking really loudly, saying sorry then having a loud conversation on her mobile phone to her family. The tea and cakes were yummy. Shame they didn't find out if I was a vegatarian before giving me ham sandwiches which I ddin't eat.
The therapy and therapist was brilliant. Professional and relaxation.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was really easy to find. I went to the gym reception to book in. One of the staff members showed me where all the facilities were. I was not happy to know that I needed to walk thru the gym area to access the beauty area for my treatments. I was handed a bathrobe and slippers from the floor of the reception area. I couldn't believe how dirty and in need of a major refurb it needed. There was dirt scum around the pool tiles and floor of pool. Tiles along the floor were dirty, had mould where the grout should've been, the fixtures around the swimming pool were rusting. There were extra things around the pool area that should've been kept away in cubpards or neatly at the side, a bucket, hose pipe and other bits and pieces. Chairs were scattered around the sides of the pool.
The steam room walls, floors and seats were dirty. The plastic was coming off the walls in some places. Again mouldy grout, Feet felt yucky.
Again tiles on floor of sauna looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few months.
There was a clock without any hour or minute hands on it.
2 showers between the steam room and sauna had dirty scum on the shower head and nobs.
The ladies changing facilities were dirty aswell. I just don't think they clean any areas.
The relaxation area was lovely. Had day beds, tables and chairs and a sofas. It's a shame the peace was interupted by a woman with her female friend talking really loudly, then talking to her family on the phone VERY LOUDLYso that I could hear every single word being said.
The full body massage which I'd upgraded to and the therapist was brilliant, therefore 2 stars but unless they do a complete refurbishment....there is no way i would go back, even if it was free

Haven't been yet but so far their customer service is not filling me with confidence. No one ever answers the phone, you leave a message and IF you are lucky your phonecall is returned 48hrs later. Still waiting for confirmation my date has been booked after leaving a message 3 days ago.

Is there only one person working there?

The actual venue really can't be classed as a spa, the jacuzzi & steam room didn't work on this occasion a member told us they had been out of action for weeks! The pool was freezing & the whole place could of done with a good lick of paint. The staff there were fabulous & couldn't do enough for you though but it was very much like the britas empire! They didn't really know what was included for the day, lunch which he said was included but it only said afternoon tea on our voucher thankgod we printed extra as we had this as proof as he didn't know anything about it, then of course they had to honour it but then we were told we wouldn't get lunch included but this didn't matter as we had the afternoon tea for lunch which was very nice indeed. The therapist was fantastic I would go back for treatments as they were very resonable but not to use the facilities. The only other problem was there was only one therapist on & as there was 4 of us we had to stagger our treatments throughout the day & this wouldn't of been a problem if there was more to do while waitng but we basically just stayed in the relaxtion room reading & snoozing. And then to top it all as we were leaving the duty manager presented us with a bill for the afternoon tea which we showed him the voucher & the bill was cancelled so I highly recomend that you make copies of the voucher to show them what you are entitled to as they take the voucher of you when you arrive. But sorry to say with the extra we paid to upgrade our treatment we could've just gone for the treatment & paid £4 less but then of course the afternoon tea was free but then again I would've rather just had the treatment & gone home instead of hanging around for the day with nothing to do.

We were greeted by a young lady who was helpful. Then we were shown round the facility by a very helpful young man called Lewis.

Overall the setting looked a bit tired and there were some areas that needed a good clean or a lick of paint. We found an empty plastic bottle in the sauna and a flea on my friend's leg!

The food was good but it was a bit vague as to what we were entitled to in the package as our paperwork was handed in at reception on arrival so a note to anyone in future - keep a copy.

However, we could not fault the actual treatments which were absolutely fantastic. The therapists allowed us to take our time and we both came out after the treatments feeling relaxed.

We probably wouldn't go back though.
