I used to go to this Salon before I went on maternity leave when it was in Soho. Unfortunately I booked an appt on line without realising they'd moved. When I phoned to explain my mistake I was told very rudely that unless I could make another time on that day I would be charged the full consultation fee. I wouldn't recommend this salon at all, I understand that there is a cancellation policy, but as someone who was happy to go on another day and had made an honest mistake, I'm pretty disappointed. There are plenty of places out there that care about their clients more than Mary clearly does.

Extremely overpriced for the rather mediocre service that they are offering. And on top of that, they try to get you to purchase the most expensive of the facials and all these additional products and tablets / pills. Don't get fooled. And they have a rigid, inflexible cancellation policy which gives one no leeway for slight tube-induced unpunctuality and unexpected meetings. Given that they are situated in an area that clearly targets clients who may have work-commitments which cause them to make last-minute alterations to their schedule, and which is outside their control - this is ironic indeed. Evidently, the staff have become rather complacent and stuck-up, and are no longer seeking to do all it takes to win business / maintain long-term client relationships / offer more competitive rates. Personally, I would say there are plenty of salons that should score better on the service (friendliness) and price front.

I'm surprised by some of the poor reviews for this business - I went in for some waxing and was completely blown away by how lovely the staff are. The treatment was good, the place was clean and nice enough, but I have been looking for a long time for a place to get waxing done at an ok price where the staff are lovely. This is it. I've already booked in again.

I went to Mayfair salon first, somehow expecting it to be up to Mayfair standards and was disappointed. Walls, carpets, floor in general, toilets, oh dear those toilets..I've been to cleaner and nicer toilets in rural Thailand. But i did like the facial so booked the same treatment at their City salon. This one is cleaner and much nicer than the one in Mayfair but staff are a tad incompetent and rather unprofessional. My treatment started 15mins later because my therapist just could stop chatting to the other one about a holiday she has booked, I mean really, come on!..
There are better salons out there ladies where you may pay a little bit more but will be treated like a paying customer.
my friend had a horrible experience with them aswell, treatment wasnt done properly and they gave her attitude.. another friend received some ludacris emails argueing she was wrong about she understood their latest promotion..basically they are always right, not the customer. AVOID

''they had an offer on their website'' leave us a review and we will give you 100 loyalty points worth 100£''. Does not take a genius to assume that once positive review is left, you will get a loyalty card with 100points that equals 100£. Apparently (even though it was CLEARLY STATING that 100 points are worth 100£ was not entirely true.. I got in touch letting them know I had left a review and would now like to book a treatment and pay for it using my reward. Emails I received from Mary, the director, started with ‘’your 100 points are NOT worth 100£, I hope you have not been misinformed’’ !! I thought, here we go, promotion/offer says one but means something completely different, which was very much the case, even though the was no small print, no stars next to the comment to indicate there are hidden rules. Then Gurpreet sent me another bulk of emails ‘’explaining’’ that the offer simply means get a 100 points, which are not worth 100£. My only argument was ‘’look at your OWN website and at your own promotion where it states black on white that get 100points worth 100£’’. I have just cheeked their website and they now state they will award you 100 loyalty points for leaving a review ‘’worth 100£’’ has been deleted.

There are much better salons out there, especially at 5star hotel. Beauty Essence, in my view, just promised more than they were prepared to award and after being confronted sent me email with all this nonsense telling me how 100 pints would only get you brow wax/thread etc. load of rubbish from a desperate salon that got caught. Never going back there again! ''

i was called aggressive and rude by Mary who then went on to covering herself by proudly announcing she's been in this industry for over 30 years and said that i am the only one who felt this way or saw this promo in this way. Interesting when I was there when my 2 friends called the salon to complain about the same ''misunderstanding''.

My final which I never got a reply to was this:
Nr 1 - I have never once said ANYTHING about you as a person where you decided to go as far as calling me aggressive and rude..

2. – the biggest mistake was to include the word worth in your promotion, letting people to believe that they are basically getting 100£ to spend in your salons IF they leave a positive review. How can argue that?

3. you have not once addressed the point I was making (about 50times) in any of your emails, you keep on explaining how loyalty point programme works, I’m not interested, THAT IS NOT THE POINT! The point is that your promotion stated 100 points are worth 100£.

4. by lying that I’m the only one who felt this way you completely ruined your credibility. You may have lasted 30 years in this industry but promotion I saw promised reward equating to 100£ and you know it, otherwise ‘’worth 100£’’ would still be included in promo description! Nobody would believe that you re-wrote a promotion because ONLY ONE CUSTOMER complained!!

Beauty Essence gives great no-fuss treatments. The facilities are comfortable but fairly basic. Great quality therapists though so I'll definitely be back.

I had an amazing massage with Mel that I booked online through Wahanda. The location is very central, the prices are fair given the location and the facility itself is simple but well equipped. The real highlight (as it should be) was the treatment. This was not a formulaic treatment -- Mel personalised the massage for me and I came away feeling entirely revived. Will definitely be going back.

The booking process was very pleasant and straightforward and on the day of my visit eveything went well. The therapist who did my waxing was very nice and the actual treatment (brazilian waxing) was not painful and very quick! I was done in less than 15 mins! So I was very pleased with the service.
Two days later however most of the hair started to grow back! I have done brazilians before and usually in the first week (or even more) no hair growth is visible. It felt like I had shaven rather than waxed!! I called the salon to ask if this was normal and they said it is!! and that some people's hair growth is very quick! I told them that I had done this treatment before and no such thing had happened but they insisted it was normal. I suspect the hair was broken rather than pulled from the root. To be honest I was quite disappointed with the way I was treated on the phone - they did not seem concerned at all.
Will definitely not be back. After all, what would be the point of waxing if the results are so short term?!?

Nice salon nice staff but the treatments so far is not what i was expecting. i have booked for a session of 3 ipl laser hair removals. I have been and just before treatment i was told i had to shave of the litte growth i had. As all other clinics tell you to not shave prior for 2 days at because the laser need to target the dark hair or no effect will be had. this clinic is telling me to shave! So no hairs are visible and the laser just will go random into the skin and not target any hairs i think. (I had a complete course done already on a different area elsewere) i told the therapist, but she insisted that this is how its meant to be done. I also have friends who had complete courses of ipl removal and we have been specificly instructed NOT to shave before coming in,or else treatment will not be effective. To make a long story short, the venue can be great and the staff friendly but if the treatment is not done properly, even with a voucher it is money waisted.

Everything was great. I also bought a cream from the salon.
Unfortunetely without any offers I cannot afford the prices for the treatments!
But it was a good treat for myself that day.

I bought the IPL hair removal deal through Wahanda The staff have been really friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. I had an initial consultation/patch test session where they explained the risks and to and not do's. I have done 1 IPL session to date and have been very pleased with the service and professionalism of the staff.

I have been going to Beauty Essence Soho and Mayfair for over 5 years now, however this was my first time to the city salon. I went on a Saturday for Guinot Hydradermie, my experience of the Beauty Essence therapists has always been really good as they are really friendly and very good at what they do and the City salon did not disappoint!! I had a lovely therapist who did my facial and also gave me advice on beauty products to use. Overall I would definitely recommend the city branch!

Fab deal for hair removable - I am looking forward to hair-free legs this summer. The benefits of this salon is that they offer IPL so you can also get nipple area done, which some salons don't offer.
