Arrived at first and waited a while only to realise they were short staffed and advised I would be waiting for another 25 minutes. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I had a busy day. They were very accommodating and arranged for me to come back another day I was free. 2nd time round the stylist did a great job on my hair and was very professional and friendly. Would definitely go back, only negatives were an extra £10 for a different colour to mix in with my 1st colour of highlights and perhaps would have been nice to inform me they were running late before I arrived. Full head of highlights itself were top quality.

Lovely staff and salon. I was disappointed with my highlights as the colour did not come through enough. But a great cut and blow dry. Just shame about the colour.

I was seen early, the owner took his time, didn't rush the experience, I felt valued as a customer even though I bought the Wahanda voucher, loved the cut and blow dry and had great chats throughout, was a lovely experience overall. The salon was empty too so it felt like I had a private hairdresser which was a first for me! Having said that, this salon should be packed as I love my new haircut. The only negative is the sink doesn't have a padded neck rest which is one of my pet hates about hairdressers as I find it quite uncomfortable without but I really can't complain as the experience as a whole was fab! Anyone who is thinking of booking, should!

Great deal to be had at Ania. Had a wash, cut and blow dry with the very nice owner who clearly knows what he is doing with hair. I have difficult thick hair and he listened to my hair woes and did exactly what I wanted. Really nice chap. Overall brilliant value for money. I will visit again :)

I've always heard horror stories about people crying out of hairdressers but I didn't think it would really happen to me... until I made a visit to Ania.

I was greeted by a woman (I assume to be of Eastern European origin) who seemed friendly at first but then as soon as I stated I had a Wahanda voucher, her attitude completely changed. I told her I wanted simple light brown highlights with no red tones but she insisted I should have two different types of highlights (costing 20 more pounds) and basically was trying to make me pay more than my voucher. I told her I was quite happy sticking to my voucher (full head of highlights) and she continued, although looked quite annoyed and angry doing it.

The result? NIGHTMARE. I had ginger streaks across my hair which looked downright horrific. I don't know if this was done deliberately because I didn't want to pay more but whatever the case, it was clear that she didn't listen to what I wanted or even cared. Also with her next customer, they were speaking the same language as each other and I felt uncomfortable throughout as I'm pretty sure (without sounding too paranoid) that she was talking about me.

The colour was so bad that the other hairdresser in the salon (male, Italian?) saw the damage and offered to rectify it. I have to say despite my terrible experience, this gentleman was kind throughout the whole experience and for that I'm grateful. He put toners in my hair which eased the redness of the highlights etc. But it still wasn't enough and on my way home I bought a dark brown hair dye and coloured it in the shower because it was that bad.

So my opinion? If you do go to this salon, ask for the gentleman and avoid the lady at all costs. All she cares about is money and it seems that you'll end up looking like a clown if you get on the wrong side of her...

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this salon. Having arrived only 10 minutes early for my appointment, I was greeted with the news that the stylist my appointment was with had called in sick. The owner of the salon was in the process of calling me.. 10 minutes before my appointment. He asked if I could come back later on in the day which I said wasn't possible. I had a big event to go to that evening and I needed to get my hair done, so he said I could wait until he had finished his appointment. So I waited for 2 hours while he did a set of highlights (on a lady with short hair I may add). Whilst I was waiting, another lady walked in and he was completely unaware she even had an appointment and had to turn her away.

I finally sat down in the chair for my half a head of highlights which should have taken an hour an half at most to complete, it took him 3 hours! My hair was so over processed because he left the highlights on for far too long. He didn't add any product to my hair before cutting or drying it and he didn't even show me the back of my hair when it was done.

I know it wasn't his fault that his stylist called in sick, but he was honestly the slowest hairdresser I have ever experienced, and the fact that his salon falls to pieces when one member of staff fails to come in is unbelievable. I spent a total of 5 hours in that salon and came out with worse hair then what I went in with and without any kind of compensation or extra treatments to make up for the fact I had wasted half of my day because of his incompetence.

Maybe his stylist is great and I would have had a completely different experience if she had been well... unfortunately, I'm not willing to find out!

My hairdresser was having a bad day. Firstly she called to say the appointment was not available after all. I then spend a lot of cash holding for Wahanda to get my money back but didn't get through. I then got an email saying my appointment was possible after all, I called to confirm, spoke to the boss and he said yes, come in. My hairdresser was pleasant at first but let out a big sigh when she found out I was there for a blow dry as well. It was clear she didn't want to be there - I had the last 7pm appointment. She didn't dry my hair as I asked, in fact she did exactly what I had not asked and was not bothered when I said so, she just carried on packing up. The boss rescued the situation by enquiring if I was ok and finishing off the blow dry. He was very helpful and nice. She just wandered off somewhere. It's a shame, she seemed pleasant but was just not bothered at all. If it wasn't for the manager I would have rated staff, blow dry and haircut as so-so.

I bought two vouchers here. A wash, cut and blow dry for myself and a half head highlights and cut or blow dry for my sister.

The salon itself is very nice. It was very queit on a Monday evening and the ambience was calming.
I'll try to review both treatments separately.

Wash, cut and blow dry - the wash was OK. I wouldn't say it was great. The sink is so much higher than the chair that you sit on that it really hurts your neck. I wasn't even resting my neck - more like the bottom half of my skull! It was so painful and the lady washing my hair didn't really attend to the underside. The wash itself - the products smelt like kitchen cleaner and the water was slightly on the cold side. When I made a comment that it was a bit cold, she turned it up ever so slightly but not that it made much difference.

The cut itself was very good - credit where credit is due. I asked for a deep side fringe and a few layers around my face. My hair was in quite an unhealthy state but she managed to get rid of the worst of it without taking too much off. In fact, I'm quite pleased with my cut.

The blow dry - I have never experienced such a painful blow dry in mylife. They say that the sign of a good blow dry is your head isn't tugged all over the place btu my head was pulled in all directions. The finshing result of the blow dry was good however.

The highlights and cut - What they don't tell you in advance that the only colour available for highlighting is blonde. My sister is Asian with dark black hair. The hairdresser assured her that it will come out a warm honey like colour. I think the actual process of putting in the highlighted sections was easy. However, she was todl to leave them in for half an hour. But during this period the haridresser started on me so they were left in for a lot longer than half an hour! When they foils were removed - she had bright yellow streaks running through her. Because they only offered a cut or a blow dry - she went for the cut. She asked for a few layers at the front to frame her face and about 2 inches off at the back. Whilst the bach was adequate, the ahridresser took off so much at the front. Much shorter than she had anticipated. The highlights are far too light and I will be going back to address this.

Definitely call them and ask about highlights if you decide to buy this treatment.

I was super happy with my hair colouring treatment at Ania in Ravenscourt Park. Omar, the owner, was very helpful and even gave me an appointment at 7 pm on a Saturday so I wouldn't miss my colouring treatment! The ambience was nice and the treatment perfect - even though it was late on a Saturday, the salon took the time to ensure the hair colouring was done thoroughly and I am super happy with the result.
