I bought the spa day with light lunch and treatment for my mum for Christmas. We had no problems booking the day we wanted - I had chosen the mon - thurs deal, as she works part time and it was the half term for me, so it was ideal, really. She had called to book and because she wasn't sure what treatment I had wanted, they said we could phone up and change if we wanted to. I later called to change it as I didn't want the one she had chosen.
When we arrived, we walked through to the spa and were greeted by a friendly receptionist. After filling out the usual forms (and a lunch order) we were given a robe and towel, and a band, which allowed you to spend money and get in and out of your locker. This was much better than a key, as they often dig in and get in the way, plus it meant that if we wanted, we could buy drinks or any extras for lunch, without having to get our purses. We were then shown around and were stunned with how large it was! We then got changed - not keen on the open changing areas, but I know many places have this.
Minus the treatment and lunch, which were scheduled, we had the day to laze around and do as we pleased. Water was freely available, which we were more than satisfied with. There were many different steam rooms and saunas; as well as heated pools and access to the general swimming pool, if you wanted, plus relaxation rooms. Due to it being a weekday, it was very quiet and we were mostly alone; otherwise there were only ever one or two people sharing the rooms with us.
When it came to our treatments, they had Mum and I mixed up, but it wasn't a problem, they just swapped the head rest for a pillow. The treatment was really lovely and even though it was only 25 minutes, I felt fully relaxed. The only thing I would say about it, which was why I gave it 4 not 5 stars, was that the sheet could have come up further. I was a bit conscious of my chest popping out - where I had to take off the straps on my consume. Luckily, it wasn't a problem!
Lunch was really nice as well, just enough to keep us going, but not too full to feel it really heavy in your stomach.
We then spent the rest of the day laying around, until we were ready to go home. They were more than happy to give us another fresh dry towel, so we could shower.
All in all, it was a wonderfully relaxing day! I would definitely recommend it to my friends and the hours drive there was worth it. We liked it so much, before I wrote the review, I came on here to see if there was one nearer to us - which there is! Hopefully, it will be as nice...I'm thinking of our next visit already.

Having read some negative reviews and had great difficulty trying to make a booking (no-one answered spa phone or replied to emails!) we embarked on our visit with some apprehension. However, we did not need to worry. The spa was lovely; although it was busy it did not seem over crowded and staff were pleasant. The smoked salmon salad lunch was just right and served by friendly bar staff.
A great way to spend a relaxed day.

I went to the spa with a group of friends on a very busy Sunday. The staff were attentive from the minute we walked into the spa.
my treatment of a back massage was great and the therapist offered me some valuable advise on why I was getting such bad headaches.

overall a really great day, although the spa was busy it was kept clean and the staff made you feel like you were their priority.

a really well run spa with a great ambience and staff. would recommend highly and will return.

As a birthday present, I had a spa day for 2 (with 25 minute treatment and light lunch included) at Amida Spa. I didn't have any of the problems other reviews have mentioned - I took the voucher with me but wasn't asked for it anyway and found the staff were all really helpful and friendly.

There was some difficulty getting through to someone on the phone in order to make a booking, however the staff went out of their way to help me - I called them on the day I was supposed to be going as my friend had cancelled on me at the last minute and despite having a 48hr cancellation policy they rescheduled my booking for the next week without any fuss. On the day, someone kindly showed us around the facilities before we got started and they offered us new (dry) robes and towels throughout the day without us having to ask.

The food was lovely and we didn't have to wait to be served. All the facilities were excellent and there was a wide range of pools, saunas and steam rooms. The spa had a lovely relaxed atmosphere; there's nothing I would change. I'd definitely go back!

I have vitiated the spa twice now and had 2 very stressful visits due to the reception staff. Upon our first visit it was impossible to get through on the phone number to make a booking – as compensation we were told to turn up and receive 20% off (the same deal available on this site). We arrived only to be told that the 20% off did not apply and the member of staff that booked it was not authorised to apply the offer. We were told to pay £120 rather than £95, we began to leave – and then the reception staff changed their minds and said we could have the deal for £95.

We went through and waited for our lunch for 30 minutes – it did not arrive. We asked the bar tender when our lunch would arrive as we had treatments in 20 minutes. She informed us that the reception staff had not passed on our order. She apologised and arranged our food – she was very helpful. Lunch was nice and healthily and the spa was good too however we needed to rush lunch to make our treatment appointments.

We made a second booking via Wahanda for August 2013 – we turned up and showed our voucher booking on our mobile phone only to be told we must have a printed version (surly they just need the code?!). They were rude and unhelpful (in particular the manager of the spa who you would have thought would lead by example) telling us to go home and print the voucher and then come back – sorry but I am from London! They do not have internet access for customers but luckily I remembered we could use the gyms computer to forward them the voucher to the spa for them to print – go David Lloyd gyms!

I am a digital marketing professional and I work across multichannel campaigns – I previously worked on a CRM beauty program and we found that only 35% of UK consumers have access to a printer. My point here is that the spa needs to get with the time – they only need the voucher code number and could view the mobile screen and not a piece of paper. They were difficult for no real reason.

Would I go back? I am not sure as the reception staff and manager are rude and unhelpful, they need customer service training - they have given me 2 stressful experiences. Shame as the spa is nice but so are so many others.

Lovely facilities, very clean and staff were attentive. Big choice of saunas and steam rooms to go into. If anything Id suggest some more showers, and would be nice if they were in the actual changing rooms.

Can I start by saying that it is such a shame as if it was not for the staff on reception this would be 5 stars. This is the second time that me and my friend booked. I have a been a member of David Lloyd for 7 years now (Brighton then Raynes Park then Farnham). I am also a spa member here but will be changing this as enough is enough.

Our first time I was trying to book the two person spa day over the phone but no-one would answer my calls. I e-mailed and left a message over two days and eventually, after speaking with the main reception who told me no one answers the phone in the Spa, I was called back whilst driving. I booked over the phone for the Saturday and could not pay as was driving back o a work event back from Liverpool (hence trying to call days earlier to book this). We arrived and the quoted price jumped up from £95 to £120. We disagreed and complained as I must say it was so difficult we were about to walk out when the lady on reception said she was honor the amount quoted but that this was not for weekends only Mon-Fri. We paid and had a lovely day and decided as we both work hard we would book our next monthly spa day here again.

The second time I tried to book I went in person because of the phone situation and was then told that it was now £120 for a Friday. We were sure that we had seen it cheaper and saw on lastminute it was for £95 so booked there. I called and again could not get through to anyone so left a message booking the Friday and treatments any time in the afternoon. Someone again called me back but being at work I had little time to converse and then again the same issue occurred. I gave the voucher number over the phone.

When we arrived this second time (last Friday) we were asked for the print out of the voucher to which I said that I had given the code and the lady on reception who is the spa manager told me that in order to process this I would need to print it out. Me and my friend expressed the fact that we had previously had issues at this spa and just wanted a 'hassle-free' spa day. We went into more detail and the manager told me that it was impossible for me to book without paying to which I explained that this had happened and their procedures were not of my concern as a consumer. It all seemed very difficult which was not what I had expected from Amida. After a lot of saying that I did not want to have to drive home to print (not sure I could on my printer anyway) my friend found that we could go to the computers there and forward it to the manager who would then print this out. The sting in this tail was the fact that my friend attending at the same time works closely with lastminute and told me that they only require a voucher code and the print out was not needed.

All in all we have decided not to recommend this and not to go again due to the way in which our complaints have been handled. We feel that is it is the fact that the facilities are so good and perhaps this is the reason they can get away with treated their clients this way.

Amazing facilities, great lunch, could have done with more indulgent desserts though!
Treatments were good, only grumble was that for my massage the therapist didn't ask for any details of how much pressure or any areas of concern.

I booked the Spa Experience day for 2 (for my mum and I) which includes a treatment each as well as a light lunch and full access to the spa all day.

We had such a fantastic day at this spa and I cant wait to go again. We were welcomed and shown around all the facilities before being left to enjoy and explore for ourselves.

The facilities really are great! I will go over the indoor facilities first, there are 3 saunas, 2 steam rooms, salt grotto, salt pool and tepidarium (as well as showers, ice chute, plunge pool, foot spas etc). Our favourite of the 3 was the Herbal Sauna, which seemed to be the perfect temparture for us as well as the fact it had a lovely relaxing herbal infusion in the air. All of the saunas are spacious and can fit plently of people in, we didnt feel overcrowded at all and there were actually quite a lot of people in the spa that day. Both of the steam rooms were fantastic and its great to have the ice chute just outside so you can cool off. The salt grotto was nice too although the 'menthol air' could have been a bit stronger. The experience showers were a little cold but the one next to the steam rooms had a lovely citrus scent and was good for a quick cool down. The tepidarium (with heated stone beds) was good, very relaxing although there are only 3 of these beds in my opinion they could do with more. :) The downstairs relaxation rooms were lovely to sit in with a cuppa and upstairs we even found darkened rooms with double beds in (I could live in this place...)!! The food in the spa bar / cafe was really nice and as it was in with the deal very good value, its about about £8-£9 for a meal + drink if you decide to pay on the day. The salt pool was lovely!

Now to outdoors facilities (1 pool, 1 jacuzzi, 1 sauna & 1 log cabin sauna as well as showers) I was really pleasantly surprised to find the outdoor pool was heated to a nice temparture, there are hydrotheraphy jets in the pool to use at your leisure. The jacuzzi was lovely although there was only one medium sized jacuzzi so we did have to wait a bit for our turn. Both outside saunas were fab.

Regarding treatment the rose express facial was lovely and very relaxing and my therapist (Jess) was nice and friendly.

This place really is amazing and we didnt want to leave but reluctantly did so after 7 hours of pampering :) I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the facilities here, I cant wait to go back and I am already considering looking into membership, but I will keep an eye open for more deals in the meantime :)

I booked this for a trip with my friend as I was visiting Home to go wedding dress shopping. Was a lovely relaxing day. Pools could have done with being a bit warmer though

A fantastic newly built spa, very spacious and modern. There were 2 different steam-rooms, a salt grotto, 5 variously heated saunas, swimming pools, jacuzzi, and experience showers. Glorious Rose Facial left my skin feeling lovely and soft - I was totally relaxed and 'blissed out' afterwards. Would definitely recommend going and will be returning to the Amida Spa.

Couldn't of asked for a better day at Amida Farnham. The weather was gorgeous, the facilities were fantastic and the facial was deeply relaxing.

I really loved the variety of the facilities. Inside is host to 4 different steams rooms, salt inhalation room, ice chute, 2 saunas, a tepidarium, plunge pool, hydrotherapy pool AND relaxation areas - plus a lovely dining area serving delicious food! Outside there is a pool with jacuzzi beds, hot tub and another sauna. So much to do, the day will literally whizz by.

I had a 55 minute aromatherapy associated essential rose facial designed to condition the skin and deeply nourish. It had been almost a year since my last facial, so I was definitely in need of giving my skin a little TLC. This wasn’t a truly detoxifying facial – no deep exfoliation or extraction - but was perfect for my needs. I wanted something that would perk up my skin and feel like a real treat. A week later, my skin was not only clear and had its glow back, it was still moisturised and felt a lot more supple – something I’ve never found with any other facial.

Will definitely be returning soon!

Had an absolutely fantastic spa day at Amida Farnham. Their facilities are so impressive, highly polished and oozing a really relaxing atmosphere. They have so many sections that there is always more to explore, with at least four saunas, two steam rooms, scented showers and a couple of pools.

The various rooms were nicely spaced so there were no crowding issues and everything just looked gorgeous. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were so nice, especially as it was sunny when we went so we could hit the sun loungers surrounding the pool. The indoor hydrotherapy pool was lovely too. The heated beds were so comfy, I very nearly dozed off.

I also enjoyed a full body, 55 minute aromatherapy massage with Frankie, who was super polite and friendly. The massage was really nice and especially seemed to focus on my legs, which is great as I do quite a lot of sport. We also indulged in lunch at the spa bar with some perfectly cooked pasta, and a hot chocolate and brioche finished my day off nicely!

The staff are so lovely, really polite and welcoming, which was fab considering I had had a nightmare journey on the M25 to get there! I thoroughly enjoyed my day and felt so chilled out at the end of it, I really could have stayed for longer. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I would love to go back.

I went to the spa to celebrate my birthday with a friend and certainly got the wow factor when we walked in. There are plenty of saunas and steam rooms to choose from and the outdoor pool was lovely, especially in the sunshine! Lunch was delicious, although we weren't allowed to eat by the pool, despite seeing others doing so, but we didn't let it spoil our day. They give you a wrist band to charge drinks and food to so that you don't have to carry money or cards around, although the system didn't work which made things a little awkward. The massage was the best I'd ever experienced and didn't want it to end!

I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Highly recommend! Very relaxing ambience and the wet spa facilities were excellent. I particularly liked the herbal infused saunas and heated relaxation beds-I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing! I didn't get a chance to try out any treatments but the staff were extremely friendly and the prices very reasonable.
