Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre at Hotel Cafe Royal

Akasha is a stylish urban hotel spa located in the heart of Piccadilly.

Comprised of nine treatment rooms (including the double treatment Akasha Suite), an 18m lap pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi with mood lighting, restorative sounds and uplifting aromas, therapists offer signature massage, body and facial treatments that marry innovative Western practices with ancient Eastern traditions.

Akasha also has a private Hammam for purifying scrubs and massages, a Vichy shower for cleansing hydrotherapy rituals and boasts London's only Watsu pool for tailored hydro-treatments and guided meditation.

The spa's name reflects its vision to harmoniously unite the four basic elements of nature; earth, water, fire and air. The combination is designed to create a transformational and balancing experience where clients leave with their bodies, minds and souls aligned.

I have been looking for a new day spa in London, I've done various over the years but never wanted to go back to any of them but I have to say I would definately go back to Akasha, really enjoyed my time there and felt very relaxed when I left.

My boyfriend booked the Warm and Relax package for my birthday. The facilities were great and we had the spa to ourselves for most of the day. The treatments were both brilliant, the staff were very professional and attentive and I was probably the most relaxed I've ever been. The spa was very luxurious with very clean facilities. I would certainly recommend.

I had the hammam and tailored massage. I was greeted warmly by all the staff and was presented with an itinerary for the day. I was given a tour of the facilities and was given a robe and slippers to get ready. I was then met by a member of staff who explained the treatments she was going to provide and then led me to the pre-treatment room. It was great that this member of staff was particularly giving attention to me and was very personable. First I had the hammam, which was a great and relaxing experience in a steamed room, this hammam included a massage. I then had a 15 minute break and had the second treatment which was a full body massage which was extremely relaxing. I then was escorted to the relaxation room and as part of my package I had a light lunch which was also very well prepared. I then explored the facilities like the jacuzzi and the sauna, there was hardly anyone there on a Wednesday morning I had the facilities to myself. The swimming pool was closed for the week for maintenance but I was invites back to use the facilities again. Overall I feel like the experience was great however it was quite pricey and I would definitely go there again to treat myself or for the cheaper option of one treatment because the staff did such a good job and were very professional. Upon leaving I was given a complimentary gift.

Beautiful facilities. The beauty therapist was great and very knowledgable about my muscles and my skin.

All of the staff were very friendly but they could do with improving their reception hospitality. It's the first thing you experience when you get to a place and I was kept waiting for 10 minutes and there was a lot of whispering. Not a big deal but it didn't strike me as very professional. Thankfully the rest of the visit wasn't the same.

This is a beautiful spa with a calm and luxurious atmosphere. The facilities were very new and clean and of top standard. Our treatments were lovely and the therapist very charming and efficient. The start of the week package is good value for money and the food is excellent. Our only negatives would be the high price of soft drinks (although infused water and herb teas are freely available) and the disorganised and defensive reception staff who weren't very welcoming or informed about our bookings. I expect this is just inexperience and was a contrast to the friendly manager I spoke to on the phone before we arrived.

A very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Couldn't fault the facilities and ambience. Bonus to join in a couple of gym classes and especially liked the TRX. Would definitely recommend and go again.

I had an amazing relaxing day! But even though it was really relaxing, they knew it was my birthday and I had no special treatment or small desert, nothing to remind me of it... That qas a bit disappointing...

This was utter perfection. I want to go again. The staff were beyond adorable and the lunch was great too. The pool there had so little chlorine because it's cleaned by UV light so it was the best swimming experience ever.

Spent an afternoon here with girlfriends and loved it. The little details, such as the bowls of fruit and fresh orange infused water, added to make it a luxurious experience. Pool was great, steam room one of the best i've used. Facial was relaxing and my skin glowing afterwards. Loved the Elemental Herbology products they used. Will be going back.
