I have recently paid via Living Social for two relatives to have a photo / pamper day, on top of that I had to pay a £25.00 refundable deposit to secure a booking. Furthermore, my Nan paid an extra £75.00 for extra pics on a disk. 3 weeks to day, my deposit (of 7 days!!) as not been refunded...they are trying to say it was used towards the payment of the disk. My Mom & Nan was never notified that the disk was more than £75.00 and that my deposit was been used towards. Never get through on the phone, when i do, they are "looking into it" and emails so far ignored. Although my Nan & Mom had a lovely day, please be VERY careful with any deposits or cash you part with, I just hope my Nan gets the disk and I receive my money, I have now written a letter too. Their lack of customer care, professionalism has put me off EVER using them again. i have also reported this to living social.

Living Social Voucher £49. My first visit, a little nervous as I've had the same hairdresser for many years. But what a terrific experience. Sexy salon, relaxing, cordial atmosphere. My stylist was Nate and what a first class job he did with an all over Copper colour and a short cut that has to be one of the best I've had.. I feel utterly vain checking it out in the mirror constantly.
So people don't be afraid to try this place out. plus its not just for the funky youngsters, I'm 46 and will be returning again and again ..

I gave a review for Adee Phelan in February 2012 and it was, to say the least, a very bad review indeed. I said that I would never go to Adee Phelan's salon again based on my experience. However, since then the salon has a new manager, Paul, who is indeed a charming young man who goes out of his way to ensure you are satisfied. My colourist Ashley is fab and knows exactly what she is talking about when it comes to colour. Sarah, my hairstylist is brilliant. I am happy to say that since my last visit the salon has approved 100% and I am very happy with my colour and cut and will certainly be going back. In fact my next appointment is in September and thereafter will be making a regualr appointment for a colour and cut.

I visited the salon in March for the first time as one of my friends had reccommended the salon to me and i was given a 50% off voucher. Well what can I say...first impresions count, and this salon gave me the best one I've ever had from a hairdressers. I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who made me feel comfortable straight away and even gave me advise on how to get my hair to the same bright red as hers! I was then introduced to my stylist Liam who was possibly one of the best looking people to ever touch my hair, not to mention he did a fab job! All the refreshments were perfect and it was the attention to detail that made my visit so memorable. I booked my next appointment there and then and look forward to booking many more!

The most uncomfortable haircut I've ever had!

Im a lady of middle age that takes pride in my appearance and love getting my hair done.

I'm sad to say this is the worst haircut and colour I have had! and have never felt so uncomfortable in all my life. I had a girl called Ashley doing my hair who was wearing next to nothing with everything on display! which completely spoilt what appeared to be a very classy salon and a really nice ambience, but they way my stylist was dressed was unacceptable and very tacky. Maybe I've got the wrong idea of what the salon is about but for a lady to have her hair cut with a cleavage and buttocks out isn't very nice! My blow dry was rushed too and I could have done it better myself! Overall I was not happy and won't be coming back!

Im sorry

I've been twice now & each time I found it a brilliant experience. My 1st visit was with a discount voucher for a colour & cut and the colour was great (I didn't really know what I wanted), with good advice, & the colourist chose the perfect shades for my already coloured hair. He gave me such a relaxing head massage after the shampoo that I almost drifted off! I went with no definite idea of what style to go for, for my fairly short hair, but was so impressed with my new style (who'd have thought he could achieve such a change with my limited resources!) that I went back 6 weeks later. I loved the salon decor with the huge mirror units (they did look genuine recycled units, but if they weren't they still looked fabulous) and it's so nice to have a free genuine coffee, not instant from a jar. I found the prices quite steep though and own up to going back to my previous salon at half the cost of Adee's (+ the high parking fees bump it up) but they couldn't replicate the cut so I'm going back this week! I think that says it all! My only criticism is that I looked for the phone number to rebook and couldn't find it in any directory, & some of us still have to use conventional methods at times xxx

I was a little apprehensive about walking in the door - but all the staff were genuine and friendly from the start. I had a fabulous hairdresser called Natalie, who is lovely hand has over 13 years of experience (I was in safe hands) I am so happy with my new haircut, she listened exactly to what I wanted and I am thrilled with the result. I will be making the effort to go back, voucher or not as it is hard to find a decent hairdresser! I would absolutely recommend this salon.

I see you had a voucher. They do treat you very well when you go with a voucher as they want you to go back. I would say, tread carefully.

Fantastic, colour and cut are one of the best I've ever had and I've been to some great salons over the years.
Staff are friendly and efficient and make you feel welcome. I had to take my 5 year old daughter with me and they made us both feel welcome with drinks offers for both of us.
Lovely venue with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canals.
Keep up the good work.

Well all i can say is wow!! id heard a lot of hype about the salon so thought i would check it out for myself! and its fantastic!!

I had my haircut by a handsome young guy called Ashley with the most beautiful tattoo I've ever seen!, and is most definitely the most professional stylist that I've ever been too! He actually sat down with me and listened to everything i had to say and tailored the consultation to my specific needs.

He gave my blow drying tips and showed me how to do pretty much everything with my hair, he asked me if there was anything that i struggled with or didn't like and actually made me feel that he was interested in me (which is hard to find these days) I left the salon feeling so confident in myself that i treated myself to a lovely dress from harvey nicks straight after!

Ladies (or guys :P ) i would definitely recommend Ashley for a bit of eye candy or a cut if you fancy treating yourself! his experience and standard of hairdressing is amazing!

I had the same hairdresser for the past 7 years at a local Toni & Guy salon. My hairdresser had left to move to Australia with her partner, when i recieved a Groupon deal for a t-section of highlights and a cut and finished for £28 at a new salon in Birmingham i decided to visit. My visit from start to finish was a total new experience. The receptionist was very pleasant and accomodating on the phone, she explained to me if i was to have more highlights there would be 50% off so i upgraded to a half head.

My visit to the salon i was greeted by the general manager and a bright yellow statue of king kong, the music was lively and the salon was very busy and had a nice atmosphere. The colourist Mark was very confident & i felt like he understood my hair, skin tone & what colours would suit me. He even gave me make-up advise and promised me that i would pull that night i went out! He said one of his best friends was cutting my hair and i was greeted by a gorgeous young blonde girl. The shampoo and head massage was pleasant by James and the basins were very comfortable. I only decided to have a trim but i had a glamorous blowdry and left the salon very very happy. I left with a 20% exclusive members card and two free products. I did pull that night and I will definatly be recommending the salon to my girls!!! Thanks to the guys who done my hair x

My first visit to salon........ I hadn't heard of this hairdresser before but thought I would give them a try with Groupon. I found the salon really nice and a great location difficult to find the front door though!!
Perhaps my expectations were to high but, I found the head massage non-existent and was there a hair treatment I dont know because there was no communication with the guy who was washing my hair....his attitude was that he couldn't care less. The colour technician was very pleasant and I was very pleased with my partial high-lights. Unfortunately my blow-dry was a complete disaster. I have curly hair so there is plenty of body to my hair but, he manage to get my hair just straight and very lank in appearance. I came out of the salon feeling and looking 20 yrs older!! I went on to browse in the Georgio Armani shop and the assistant could see the Adee Phelan bag and asked me if I had been to have my hair done at the salon yet...I replied yes I have just come from there. She took one look at my hair 'oh dear' I think that was another propective customer lost. My only saving grace is that I did not pay full price....would I recommend at full price ....No.

I walked past the Cube alot whilist being built and knew that i would be visiting Adee Phelan as soon as it was open,
I was informed when phone lines were switched on and rang straight away to book myself the first week the doors were 'unofficially' opened!
After booking appointment i noticed the local Groupon voucher was for Adee Phelan so i rang salon back and asked if this would be ok to purchase as i had already made appointment...."Of course,no problem!"
I was not sure if i would be having a senior stylist....but i did!!
My experience was fabulous! Adee being in the reception area himself welcoming clients, offering refreshments it was a very relaxed ambience...(not stiff at all!!)
I was introduced to my stylist, who then introduced me to the wonderful young girl who washed my hair and thoroughly looked after me! (massage was wonderful!)
The cut was superb and i rebooked my next appointment on the way out!
My next appointment i was going to treat myself and have some hi lites....another Groupon voucher is on offer...so i ring again and ask if i'm ok to use one as i've already used one for a cut and again i get 'Of course!'
2nd visit....As good as the first if not better...loved my colour, loved my cut....i rebook my next cut on the way out....
3rd visit.....No voucher....but did i care? No....My visit once again was a truly wonderful experience with the stylists and other members of staff recognising me now and smiling and saying hello! (Well i have been going every 4 weeks!)....I booked my 'christmas cut and colour' on way out....and cannot wait for December!!
The vouchers were a bonus....but i'm a regular now voucher or not!

I bought a voucher from groupon for this salon though I had already heard about it through my place of work so I knew where it was and it's reputation since it had opened etc. I was a bit worried at first because previously the salons that I have been to via groupon vouchers haven't been very friendly perhaps because they think that you couldn't afford it were it not for the groupon voucher, which of course is a ridiculous thing to assume because everyone knows people who have money like a bargain as much as the next person!Aside from that a salon with high expectations should provide impeccable service no matter who the customer or what time of day, because even if that person could not afford a cut there at the standard prices, if the experience is bad they won't be buying from groupon again for that salon either!I however had a lovely experience here, I was put off at first about the fact that I couldn't find the entrance and was met with a large window where all the stylists were and they could all see me, I didn't want to knock on the window like a berk or try the door which looked more like a fire exit, a sign outside might have been helpful pointing towards the inside of 'the cube'.
Upon entering I found the receptionist to be as bubbly as ever (i had seen her a few days earlier for a tint test),and the salon looked neat and tidy with all the stylists coiffed to perfection. The stylists I had were friendly but understandably not too talkative as I was one of the last clients of the day by the looks of it so I wasn't complaining there, we've all had those days.
The stylists Sean and Mark I believe tinted and styled my hair, gave me some advice about recolouring and generally took care of me. The girl who washed my hair, though very nice, was quite rough (sorry!). I began to wonder whether they knew I was a groupon customer because they were not unfriendly like other salons I had been to with a groupon voucher, but once I got to the counter to pay they asked whether I had the voucher where I presented it and was then treated to two full sized Adee Phelan products. He even put my cardigan on for me after fetching it from the cloakroom, they then all said goodbye and I left the salon feeling very happy that I had been there, thank you to the bubbly receptionist with a lovely smile, thank you Sean and thank you Mark I will definitely be recommending you to my girlfriends xxxxxx

WOW!! I tried Adee Phelan the Cube last week and I must say the service, staff and stylists were all second to none, the whole experience not only made me feel a million dollars but the cut and style completely blew me away! my friends have already booked appointments with Adee so unsure who was more impressed!!, I don't write reviews but somethings in life must be shared!! I now have a new hair stylist and an indulgent experience I can look forward to every month, prices are average but when compared to the whole experience I wouldn't question the value, worth every penny and some, just hope they keep the ethos of this place going as this is a real gem!!

Overall the experience was a disapointment, i brought a voucher off groupon and i payed £29 for the partial highlights and cut. I understand the price was very reasonable however I am still disapointed with the service. I have blonde hair and simply requested blond highlights, however once my cut was complete these highlites were hardly noticeable. Personally I didnt feel much connection or rapport with anyone who came into contact with my hair, I felt the atmosphere cold and un-inviting. I was offered a drink, but that was about all the conversation I got out of any of the staff, if I hadnt initiated it myself. In total it took 2.5 hours to put about 14 pieces of foil in my hair and get a trim, which for me was far too long. The lady who washed my hair was anything but gentle, i felt my hair was being ripped out of my skull and even told her to be more gentle. I have given the experience a 2 star review simply because the price was so reasonable but I would not return even if there was another cheap deal and definatley would not pay full price.

I purchased a groupon voucher to visit the new adee phelan salon,I had a partial highlights and a cut,
Once arriving at the salon it has a real boutique feel to the place with old antique furnishings mixed with modern design, overall very eye catching,
The receptionist was very polite and attentive,I was shown a seat in reception and offered a drink which wasn't quality you would expect to pay for.
I was shown through reception and had a consultation about the colour,we decided to go for some subtle red highlights to compliment my dark natural colour,
While my colour was developing I had chance to scope the salon and the section beside me was left uncleaned for a while which was strange as the apprentices just seemed to walk past it numerous times,
After my colour I went back to the stylist where we decided to go for a chin length bob with layers because my hair becomes really thick and the weight drives me mad,I think the guy who cut my hair was very pleasant but I think he was one of the more inexperienced stylists as he seemed to ask me for advice quite alot,I wAsnt entirely happy with the cut as it wasnt layed and was quite heavy and a little longer than we talked about, after leaving the salon I struggled to get on with my cut so after 2 weeks I plucked up the courage to ring the salon to see if I could go back and have more off the length, the receptionist again was very helpful and assured me I will be booked back with the most senior stylist,
I arrived at the salon apprehensive because I had complained but the senior stylist I think his name was Graig? calmed me and had a full consultation again which he thoroughly went through what I liked and disliked with my cut,I thought he was going to. U it dry but assured me he wanted to do a proper job and told the apprentice to look after me which was kind,he then gave me the best. It I have had in years and did exactly what he said he would in the consultation,

I left feeling asif I was a VIP not a groupon customer who had complained.
I would reccomend this salon in the future

Arriving at the Adee Phelan salon - once you've finally managed to find it in the mailbox, try finding the entrance!! Its a goldfish bowl, so I could see where i should be but, boy, could i work out how to get in there. The decor is, well, Id like to say funky, but I think pretentious is probably a better description. Lots of skulls. Very rock n roll. It lacks calmness and a therapeutic atmosphere I seek when likely to be spending 3 hours and alot of money. The staff are on the surface bending over backwards to attend to you - i was offered coffee several times, but it really lacked the genuine friendliness of good staff. It felt like they'd all been given training, and were following it to the letter. Too many 'madam's' and not enough genuine connection. This adds to the general pretentious atmosphere. I guess if you do attend a 'celebrity' salon - this is what you should expect. What I did expect however, was a pretty great result. Unfortunately, it didnt happen. I had a chat with the guy who was colouring my hair. But somehow my description of subtle highlights framing the face and a rich chocolate brown for the rest of my hair he interpreted as bright yellow 1980s type streaks, set obviously and unavoidable along my hairs parting. I expressed concern. They spent another 20 minutes toning them down. Haircut was fine. Blow dry was great. To be fair, they didnt charge me for the colour, until I had it resolved. But I dont live locally, and i dont have alot of time to spend another 2 hours getting the colour sorted. For a place like this, with all its PR and OTT style, I would have expected one for them to have actually listened to what I wanted rather than give me what they decided. Dont get me wrong, no-one will be pointing at my hair, but I still have the dreaded 'streaks'. Ugh. Other niggles .. I had to ask twice for someone to clean the dye stains from my face. Even then the young guy was telling me ' oh no thats your hair' when I pointed out very obvious stains - not my hair. My face! Had really obvious stains for 2 days. Again. I just wasnt listened to. Thought the girl washing my hair was going to damage my brain at times. Roughest, almost anxiety inducing head massage Ive ever had.
All in all. I really didnt enjoy anything about this experience, and have hair I dont like. I'll probably just call them, pay for what they've done and head back to my usual wonderful salon to get it sorted. I just really dont want to go back, as it wasnt an inviting place, with worst of all, just bad results. Sorry - but all style. Absolutely no substance.

If your salon was so wonderful why go else where? As a stylist myself you should complain 2 them rather than write a nasty review? It's hard to please every 1 the salon would benefit from this review more so they can improve on your complaint!! I think u have put alot of unneccesary points that are very negative! So like I say tell them as I would want 2 know if the review was about me

I went because I had a voucher!!! I did talk to them, and as I said they have offered to rectify anything Im not happy with and not charge until Im happy. Which is fair enough. I wrote a review based on what I felt about the experience..which for me wasn't great. I happen to think there's alot they're not getting right at the moment, and for the price bracket, I think that just shouldn't happen. Thats all. Sorry you felt some of it was unnecessary.. I take your thoughts onboard.

But if your salon is so wonderful why buy a voucher 2 go else where that obviously does not live up 2 it's standards? That does not make sense 2 then slate a new business on line for obvious teething problems? I can understand if your not happy with your hair fair enough but your review is huge and u nit pick it to pieces. Have u told Ade phelan all your complaints other than your hair? To complain about being offered drinks and being called madam........ God wat a awful salon!!!

What a terrible shame. I had looked forward to this for such a long time but was so disappointed. The staff do not interact with each other in any way, they do not appear to have any camaraderie. After only six weeks the place is filthy. Mirror surrounds covered in dirty smears, basins left with colour in long after client finished, hair left on floor for long amounts of time. The only people who impressed me were the receptionist and one of the hair wash girls who had the most interesting cut and colour in the salon. The management need to get a grip as I cannot imagine anyone going there twice. Such a beautiful setting but a complete mismanaged disaster.
