Wahanda news: Selfridges reveals plans for The Beauty Works

Amazing news for product junkies - the original beauty Mecca, Selfridges, has announced that it is to undergo a mega makeover that will be revealed in September. Tripling its beauty hall to 5,000 square feet in size, it’ll be launching new services and adding more than 50 new brands.

Forget having to visit the hairdresser’s for a blow dry, the salon for a manicure and the high street for your lotions and potions – all these and many more are soon to be under this well pampered roof.

The new one-stop beauty shop will be bigger and better than ever before, surpassing all others in the industry and providing an all inclusive shopping experience for this area of retail.

Selfridges Head of Beauty, Jayne Demuro says: “For years Selfridges Oxford Street has been THE most successful Beauty Hall in the world. Selfridges revolutionised the way the world retailed beauty, by placing the department at the front of the store. With this retailing innovation in our DNA, we are always striving to bring extraordinary new experiences to our customers.”

An area titled The Beauty Workshop will be home to new and exciting brands and their products from all over the world, and will constantly be growing and changing with the beauty tide. Selfridges Beauty Experts will also be on hand to advise customers across all brands, giving a truly unbiased and trustworthy helping hand.

Services will include tanning, nails, brows and hair, with a St Tropez Skin Finishing Studio, The Paint Shop by Nails Inc, Blink Brow Bar, Hersheson Blow Dry Bar and Weave Got Style (stitched hair wefts).

As if Selfridges couldn’t please us any more, there will also be a limited edition Beauty Box thrown into the mix, filled with must-have products for great value prices. With so many others currently competing in the market, it will be interesting to see what the established department store’s take is on the latest box phenomenon.

September just can’t come along soon enough…
