Elvis might prefer blue suede and David Bowie might rather you put on your red shoes, but at Wahanda we’re mad about Merrell’s pink footwear. The new range is due to be launched in September, and 10% of the retail price of all products sold will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. As Paolo Nutini would say, it’s time to put some new shoes on...
Merrell’s integrated campaign aims to raise a minimum of £20,000 for Breakthrough, as well as helping to increase awareness during October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Recent research has shown that an active lifestyle can help to reduce the risk of illness and to improve chances of recovery – so who better to champion this cause than a brand that’s dedicated to keeping people moving?
Want to think pink whilst hiking? Merrell’s boots were made for walking – and that’s just what they’ll do. Pull on a pair of the popular Chameleon Arc 2 Rival GTX boots and cover some serious distance, or opt for something a little more lightweight, like the Siren Vent Mid GTX. Whichever design you choose, the unique pink colouring will be sure to keep you looking stylish – good news if you don’t want to compromise on looks while you walk the line.
Jonathan Pennington, Marketing Manager at Merrell UK, says: ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer shares Merrell’s belief that an active outdoor lifestyle helps stimulate wellbeing and we are proud to partner with such a worthwhile charity.
‘Hopefully, through our partnership, the campaign will help not only to provide valuable financial support but perhaps more importantly encourage more people to get outside and active.’
Like the sound of doing your bit for charity whilst getting fighting fit? The Breakthrough range launches in September and will be available to purchase from www.merrell.com/uk. We reckon that once you’ve got hold of this fun footwear you’ll be able to walk even further than the Proclaimers...
Tend to get a bit lonely when you go for a long walk? Why not join a walking group and meet some new friends whilst you keep in shape.
