Every year, women across the capital get so excited about London Fashion Week that we forget what hard work it can be. Running between shows in high heels, toting an enormous bag and generally channelling all our energy into looking fabulous can be tiring! When the excitement turns into exhaustion and the fashion-high begins to fade, there’s only one thing for it: head to a spa pronto. Not just any spa though. You need a venue that’s thoroughly equipped to deal with the trials and tribulations of London Fashion Week. Lucky for you we’ve put together this handy little list of the top five London spas fit for fashion queens.
It’s hard to believe anywhere positioned in the heart of London’s west end could be described as tranquil and serene, but with its 14 all-white treatment rooms and combination of ancient and modern techniques, Agua (pictured) truly is an urban sanctuary. Didn’t manage to get front row at Mulberry? Remind yourself just how fabulous you are with a Diamond body experience, which uses crystals and real diamond powder to increase circulation while firming and lifting the skin.
All that texting, tweeting and trending getting too much for you? Head to Ushvani; experts in Asian spa philosophy who focus on spiritual harmony, natural treatments and taking a holistic approach to treating the mind, body and spirit. Best of all, the wood-panelled walls are sound-proof so you can leave the sirens, mobile phones and over-excited squealing fashionistas at the door. Having a real diva moment? You’ll be pleased to heat that visits to Ushvani are timed so that you never have to see another guest. Naomi Campbell eat your heart out.
With six luxurious treatment rooms, the St Pancras Renaissance spa promises ‘total sensory transportation’. Take a ‘spa journey’ to a far away land - away from the hussle and bussle of London – or experience some of the world’s finest beauty recipes and remedies, and still be back in time for the evening’s after-parties. But don’t take just it from us. Ever the trend-setter, Victoria Beckham helped bring this place to our attention back in 1996, when the Spice Girls filmed their first single Wannabe on location. And after all, who knows more about London Fashion Week than VB?
For the best view in town this Fashion Week, it has to be the spa at theFour Seasons. Situated on the 10th-floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane, this rooftop retreat has a 360-degree view of the capital, making it the only place where you can see exactly what’s going on. As well as its stunning view, the spa has nine treatment rooms (each with an individual relaxation pod), a luxury double suite with 180-degree views, sky lit vitality pools, and saunas with floor-to-ceiling windows. Ask for the ‘Hyde Park awakening’; a ritual designed by The Organic Pharmacy to escape the stresses and strains of day-to-day life. It begins with an aromatherapy foot soak and concludes with a stress-relieving massage using oils infused with St. John’s Wort and rosemary. We feel better already!
Situated in Leicester Square, the W Hotel has seen its fair share of red carpets events and celebrities, and has also played host to some of the coolest after parties - including last week’s Fashion Night Out. It’s hardly surprising then that the Wyld bar has become a favourite among it-girls and fashion darlings like Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Florence Welch. We can’t think of anywhere more fitting to indulge in a little R’n’R this Fashion Week than The W’s AWAY Spa. With waxing, facials, massages and a whole menu of other body ‘treats’ and experiences, AWAY is the only place to get after-party ready. All partied out? Head to the Detox, Refuel and Relaxation area – we’ll see you there.
