Spending our days researching luxury spas and testing out extravagant new treatments seems to have given us all delusions of grandeur here at Wahanda HQ. When asked ‘Which spa or treatment would you try if money, distance and time was no object?’ the team became very excited...
It seems we’ve all come across that one place or experience that sounds so magical, that just talking about it make us smile, sigh and go all googly-eyed – no, not Disneyland. We’re talking proper luxury. Five star resorts and treatments to die for. Take a look at what we consider to be The Holy Grail of spas and beauty treatments...except we know where these are, they’re just a little more pricey than we'd like.
"Since I was shown pictures of the Bvlgari Spa at Bulgari Hotel London, I've thought about no other spa. If my pockets were filled deep with gold doubloons then I would certainly endeavour to cash them in here. I find the Bvlgari wonderfully minimalist (straight lines galore) yet seductively sensual in its aesthetics. It fuses European romance with sheer indulgence - using only Onyx, stone, marble and wood. I also love a candle and the Bvlgari Spa appears to be scattered with them. Easy decision."
"If money was no object I’d like to have my hair cut by Frederic Fekkai, my makeup done by Bobbi Brown, my clothes styled by Rachel Zoe, and I’d like to be personally trained every other day by Richard Simmons."
"I really want a day of treatments at The Chuan Spa at The Langham. I went there for a meeting a few weeks back and as soon as I stepped into the spa I felt completely relaxed. Having a tour of the facilities and a sneak peek at all the treatments - this is definitely where I will head to be pampered when I'm rich."
"If I could pick anything to do right now for a bit of relaxation, I'd love a spa break at the Luton Hoo Hotel - the place looks stunning and I'd really like to take my mum along for a weekend of afternoon tea, country walks and spa treatments. If it's good enough for the Queen, it's good enough for me."
"I came across Champneys Tring while researching a story on luxury spas and put it straight at the top of my fantasy ‘to do’ list. If money was no option I’d check myself in for the Six Night Traditional Week Spa break and spend my days being pampered and roaming around the grounds pretending to be in Downton Abbey."
“If money were no object, then I would love to combine super gorgeous spa treatments with a sunshine filled holiday, and so my first choice would be The Spa at The Oitavos in Portugal. With organic, ocean-inspired treatment products and stunning poolside scenery of rolling sand dunes and clear blue waves, I honestly can’t think of anything better than lounging around in this minimalist white haven. It would be fab to try out one of their Hot Stone Massages, as I have always wanted to try one.”
"I’m really loving Elemis skincare products at the moment following a facial using the brand. They seem to be working well with my skin and have a gorgeous natural feel about them – nothing too harsh or full of chemicals. I’d love to be pampered from top-to-toe at Elemis Spa Day including a scalp massage, facial, full body massage, manicure and pedicure – perfect after a stressful few weeks at work.
"Travelling to and from St Pancras station everyday, walking past this stunning Victorian hotel is a daily tease! One day I will swap the train journey home for one of their hot stone massages, a quick jump in the tiled underground pool and breathe deeply in the eucalyptus steam room. The High Time for Tea Time spa day also sounds right up my street by mixing total relaxation with nibbles and champagne."
"Given the choice, I'd go for a spa break at Utopia Spa at Alexander House Hotel. I adore the black tiled swimming pool which would make for an inky, cosy, relaxing swim. The food and wine sound amazing too. I'd also get eyelash extensions but I don’t know where’s best for them."
