There’s nothing like a spot of sunshine to put us in the mood for a weekend in the country, and we’ve found our perfect rural retreat. Wild woodland, gorgeous gardens and (admittedly less traditional) an outdoor pool, The Spa at Homewood Park Hotel has it all – including a Champagne nail bar. Fancy a spot of fresh air? Welcome to our spa of the week…
Just six miles from the historic city of Bath and 20 from Bristol, The Spa at Homewood Park Hotel in Charterhouse is surrounded by 10 acres of woodlands and award winning gardens. A listed building, Homewood Park Hotel is a Georgian country house that has been transformed into a 4 star hotel housing a restaurant awarded two AA rosettes and – of course – a luxury spa.
Dating back to the thirteenth century, the hotel has undergone a number of changes over the years, but retains many original features including wooden floors and log fires. Now paired with modern fabrics and furnishings, the effect is contemporary yet homely.
Thanks to it’s world famous Roman baths, the aptly named city of Bath has long had a reputation for healing and relaxation, something the spa at Homewood Park seeks to uphold.
With facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite, heated outdoor pool (complete with relaxation pods and stunning views) and afore mentioned Champagne nail bar, Homewood Park offers guests even more in the way of relaxation than the city’s ancient spas.
On the treatment menu, guests will find a range of signature treatments designed for the spa, using products from some of the best spa names including [comfort zone] and Elemis. Highlights include the decadent ‘Exotic Moisture Dew Facial’, ‘Monticelli Warm Mud Coccoon’ and Indian, Arabian and Oriental Scrub Rituals.
Make the most of the state of the art facilities and natural surroundings with a spa day or break. For example, the Ultimate Indulgence Spa Day (£65 per person) offers guests a full day of relaxation including a 25 minute treatment from the spa menu, two-course lunch, full afternoon tea or two-course dinner plus complementary glass of sparkling wine.
If you’ve already got that summer feeling and you want more than a day’s escape, the One Night Spa Break for two includes an overnight stay, 25 minute treatment from the spa menu, £35 per person towards dinner, breakfast and full use of the spa facilities for £157.50 per person. Sunshine, unfortunately, not guaranteed.
Summer holidays still too far away? Take a look at Homewood Park’s venue page where you can book relaxing getaways (if only for an hour) now.
