Football, tennis and let's not forget cricket; it’s not even July and already summer 2014 has provided more sport than some of us have participated in during our entire lives. If you’re tired of sport season's obligatory barbecues, pub outings and the anxiety caused by cheering on your country (or whoever you got in the office sweepstake), you might be looking for somewhere a little quieter to enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed) over the next few weeks. Fortunately for you, we’ve found somewhere peaceful, picturesque and pretty much perfect. Welcome to Cotswold House Hotel and Spa, our spa of the week…
Located in Chipping Campden, a traditional yellow stone village in the heart of The Cotswolds, Cotswold House Hotel is widely regarded as one of the finest hotels in the area. A Regency building that combines traditional architecture with modern touches, the stunning hotel boasts two acres of landscaped gardens and, within these manicured hedges, a converted coach house – now an award-winning spa. Despite the rural village setting, the spa at Cotswold House Hotel is modern, luxurious and an absolute must when visiting the celeb-inhabited region.
Make your way (gently) across the acres of plush lawn and past carefully-thought-out flowerbeds that surround the spa, and inside you will find six luxury treatment rooms, a Turkish Hammamm, aromatic steam room, rain showers and ‘Spatini’ nail bar. Located within the spa’s bright and airy extension are the thermal facilities (including a hydrotherapy pool), which overlook the stunning grounds.
The spa offers a range of refreshing and rebalancing treatments, performed by a team of expert therapists and using products from exclusive spa brand La Sultane de Saba. Our favourites on the menu include the Deep Cleansing Rassoul Ritual, (which includes exfoliation, massage and a detoxifying lava clay wrap, to leave skin positively glowing) and the delicious-sounding, cellulite-busting Honey, Ginger and Caffeine Slimming Massage Ritual (which combines a relaxing massage with a hydrating mix of natural ingredients including ginger, Ayurvedic spice and honey to stimulate circulation and boost fat-elimination).
To make the most of your time there, the spa also offers an array of different spa day packages, including a pampering special, a quick alternative and three different options to help us get ready for summer. With summer hols looming and Operation Bikini Body having ground to a halt, the Three Steps to Summer Spa Day, with Green Tea Tingler Treatment is looking particularly appealing right now. For £65 per person, guests will enjoy full use of the spa’s facilities and a fat-busting, green tea treatment involving a footbath, lower body exfoliation, a body wrap and massage. After that, you can recline on a sun lounger (weather permitting) with an icy drink. Perfection.
Tired of tennis? Fancy fleeing the footie frenzy? We know - any excuse. Take a look at Cotswold House Hotel and Spa’s venue page where you can book your summer escape now.
