Stayed here are a group of 8 for a friends birthday and had the most amazing time. The staff were very friendly. We also had a birthday cake which we wanted bought out after dinner. The staff not only did so but managed to get the whole resturant singing happy birthday! A massive thank you to Chris and Dave who made our stay more memorable!
best value deal was booked via wahanda, great value for what you got. Heat & ice experience was lovely. Extra add ons are pricey so better booked in advance for 10% discount. We added fish pedicure on as that was reasonably priced compared to other places. Didn't book anything else as we felt is was to pricey but then on the day really wanted a back massage so booked it at full price £45 for 25min. Was worth every penny but wish we would have gone for the £76 decleor facial (booked in advance for discount) which starts with back massage and u get hand and arm massage whilst your face pack is on, lasts 1hr10min. The serviced apartments are superb as was the food. Definately will book again if I can get a cheap deal. Came home very relaxed and revived with my skin on my back as soft as silk from the exfoliating as part of back massage :>)
A relaxing way to spend the day - nice facilities and I had a lovely swim in the pool!
The hotel was clean the staff were friendly central location. The food was lovely and fresh will. Location is also great here, everything within walking distance. Will be back! :)
We had a lovely day at the Breadsall Priory.
We chose the back massage which was very relaxing then we went for a swim and sauna afterwards we had lunch there which finished the morning perfectly a great day out
I went with my 17 Year old daughter and we had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and very easy to speak too.
The facilities were excellent and we will be booking again for my birthday at the end of January taking a few friends with us.
My daughter bought me this day pass. The place was great but the pool was freezing! Enjoyed the heated sun beds and the poolside was very calming. Smashing day but I wish they had the pool a lot warmer!
I went to the spa with family. I had the facial, it was wonderful, my therapist was such a lovely girl and I really enjoyed the treatment. Unfortunately I did not have time to use the pool, so can not comment on that part of the day. My only complaint is that there is not a designated, post treatment relaxation area. If there had been, the overall satisfaction would have rated "spot on"
This place was definitely a bargain. The staff were friendly and helpful, the surroundings were beautiful and everything was clean. The only downside was the swimming pool was freezing although on the brochure it said it was heated. That said however, I would go again and I would recommend it to friends and family.
We got to the hotel, and at the reception seen an ad for an upgrade to a studio room, where you could get better facilities, we tried to upgrade, but were told, we already had this room!! Excellent start. We went for dinner, as there was a Christmas party evening we could either join all the other party guests in the dining hall and have a choice of Christmas dinner or the d'hote as stated when booked. We opted to go for the quiet option and had dinner at the "summit" room which was made into a make shift dining room, we had it to ourselves and it was fantastic!! The 3 course meal was superb, my husband opted for some other food from the main menu, you can still order from this menu and you get up to £22 to spend. The waitress approached and told us we would have got a complimentary bottle of wine with our dinner but as we don't drink they gave us all our soft drinks for free!!! The waitress and reception staff were lovely. The room was fantastic, spotlessly clean and cosy, shower brilliant, and we had the TV and internet package which was used with ease. On returning to our room after dinner, I discovered a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers from the hotel, (we were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary). Which I thought went above and beyond excellent customer service. We could have used the spa facilities which were included in the price, but just didn't have the time, as the Almondvale shopping centre is 5 minutes across the road...... All in all a fantastic deal and more than excellent value for the price we paid. Would go back anytime, and make use of the spa facilities next time!!!
I booked a One Night Spa Break for Mum and I as it was her birthday. I honestly did not know what to expect - I just hoped it was decent however tt far exceeded our expectations. We were impressed by the warm welcome that we received, the decor, quality and cleanliness of the twin room/hotel and delighted with the peaceful surroundings. I had booked some special treatments for my Mum with the therapist based within the Sebastian Coe Health Club. The therapist was absolutely fantastic, thoughtful and made my Mum feel amazing. I cannot recommend her enough! The facilities within the Health Club were great - Spa bath, Steam Room, decent length heated swimming pool, sauna and gym. The only teeny weeny downside is that the sauna is not located on the pool side like the steam room but is still easily accessed by a flight of stairs. All staff were kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the food served in the restaurant and the service provided by staff (particularly for the 3 course evening meal) was first class. I have to say that that the Mercure Hotel & Sebastian Coe Health Club is a little gem and we will definitely go back again.
Visited Titanic many times now and it is always a very pleasurable experience that I would highly recommend to others. This time I didn't have any treatments, I visited purely to relax and completely chill out. The rooms are fab if staying overnight. They come with either Decleor or Elemis miniture products and continental breakfast for 2. There are also chocolates, biscuits, tea, coffee and fresh milk supplied. The evening meal was yummy all made with fresh locally sourced produce.
The hotel itself is lovely, the bedroom needed refurbing and the spa facilities were very run down. I wouldn't go back to this hotel as a spa break, shouldn't really be advertised as a spa weekend.
FANTASTIC. STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP. FACILITIES WERE GREAT. FOOD VERY VERY GOOD, SERVICE TOP CLASS. ROOM WAS GREAT. AN OVERNIGHT SPA IS A YEARLY TREAT FOR US, THEREFORE WE HAVE BEEN TO QUITE A FEW OVER THE YEARS, BUT THIS ONE TOPS THEM ALL. WE WILL DIFFINITELY COME BACK HERE NEXT YEAR (ESPECIALLY THROUGH WHANDA - WHOS DISCOUNTS ARE FAB!)
We found that the premises was very good for the money. The staff were very good with politness. The swimming pool was good as was the steam room & hot room. The massage sessions ( my wife said ) was one of the best she has had. Window in our room was looking very tired as the latches were rusty & loose. The extracter fan in the bathroom did not work while we were there.Havinwrote of the negatives we still think that the whole experiance was one we would like to do again. The food for the evening meal & the breakfast was above what we expected & was exemplery. One more item .As well as a number of people that were there it took us a while to find the place as the post code given by yourselves only gave us the 'Blyth Rd' & not the actual hotel.
our stay at the Mecure was absolutely great. The service we received from wahanda in booking this and from the staff at the hotel was superb – this was for my birthday and it was one of the best yet!
I have just one comment – when the offer was advertised it stated that there was a Jacuzzi and unfortunately when we arrived we found out this was not the case. It was a bit disappointing as we were all looking forward to it. There was also no robe for the spa. Other than that we had a great time.
Very nice pool, sauna and steam room. Peaceful location. The staff were very helpful and friendly and did not pester us to buy extra treatments or buy a memberhsip. The showers in the changing rooms were massive. Very relaxing afternoon out.
I had any kind of service and it's poor, cheap, always late or classes are cancelled, disgusting showers and swimming pool....I complained till I could now I'll get my membership cenceled. I rather be fat than catch a desease! People bring your money somewhere else!
I absolutely enjoyed this break. I would recommend it to any of my friends. We also loved having our lunch there too. My friend also enjoyed it. Fantastic venue well mixed old and new.
was well worth the money...best value i have ever had on a deal.....meal and service was fab....lovely location ...room spotless ....
next day had a really nice breakfast ,,,,wished i had been staying another night
What a fantastic day we had. Was so relaxing a real total chill out day. The robes and slippers just made you feel extra special and the treatments were amazing. We did not feel rushed during our visit and the staff were really helpful.
The gym area was small but had all the upto date equipment needed. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were great and although the pool felt cold at first this soon wen tonce you were in for a minute or two.
Overall a fab day
i am really happy i have found a gym with a creche. however this was not stated on the website. the ladies that own the creche are lovely and do so many activities with the children. and the price per hour is £4.50 which is good (considering the price of a nursery!) and then i saved my self £9 by booking a block session of 10 hours with a 2 month expiry date. BARGAIN!!! the staff within the gym are nice and extremely helpful and give you an excellent one to one session when being introduced to the gym. they have lots of classes on offer, (again in creche opening hours which is wicked) and a nice waiting area. the music played into la fitness is update and something for everybody. sadly the bar/cafe has gone but the staff said they hope it will re open, but this did not bother me as la fitness is next to cosco and the collenades where their is a food court. i am really happy with my membership so far and will keep you up to date with how its going.
On booking the spa day over the telephone with the hotel, the receptionist was not able to tell me if I would be charged the £5 per person robe fee. I rang the day before twice to confirm this but no one was answering the telephone so we took robes, towels and slippers just in case.
Finding the hotel was difficult as it was not signed after the roundabout and we drove straight past it. On arrival at the hotel we found plenty of space to park and we went into the main reception which proved to be a long wait. The receptionist did not look up from her desk and was a bit “off” telling us to go down the corridor to the Leisure Reception.
Staff at the Leisure Reception were pleasant, we said we would stay for lunch and were informed this would be £12 each, the set menu however proved difficult for my husband who suffers from allergies and does not like fish, there was a bar menu available which later proved quite costly.
We were told that we could use the swimming pool, sauna and steam room but could not use the Jacuzzi pool as it was being water treated that morning. Robes were £5 so we used our own but were given towels.
We booked in for our massages, we both had the back, shoulder and neck massage, I had the scalp massage and my husband had the foot massage. The rooms were very modern and stylish with relaxing music on and low lighting lamps the massage was very relaxing.
I was pleased to find that the masseur applied a firm rather than a light stroke, she asked if I had any problem areas and found the stress knots on my back, the scalp massage was heavenly and this to my surprise was quite forceful, pressing the temples with the palms of her hands as if she was trying to squash my head. I felt very relaxed after the massage and really enjoyed it. My husband said he enjoyed his foot massage, she applied foot scrub stuff on and he had difficulty holding still while she massaged the soles of his feet.
After, we relaxed in the room opposite; this has lounger chairs, low lighting and music. This is very good for reading (if you can see your book) and relaxing in a quiet environment while the body gets used to having being massaged.
We looked in on the gym, there seemed to be 2 separate rooms, one weights, one cardio with a good selection of machines, but we didn’t have time to use them.
We then decided to go for a swim in the pool; the pool is quite a good size, rectangular. Unfortunately it had filled up since our last glimpse. One lane was roped off for adult lane swimming but to be honest, 2 of us swimming in it proved difficult and narrow and resulted in a nasty bang on the foot to the side of the pool steps.
One child was in screaming and splashing but the echo of the room made it sound like 10 children. We had forgotten it was half term and soon other children came in with grandparents and proceeded to splash about dragging floats and things out of the “do not enter under any circumstances” cupboard. However this could not be policed with an absence of staff. We were dismayed to see the Jacuzzi still cordoned off so went to the steam room and sluiced off with a cold shower.
The showers were adequate with body wash provided in the cubicles, there is communal changing with a couple of privacy stalls. The changing room isn’t that big and the odd L shape design of the lockers may mean difficulty hanging coats and things up (£1 for lockers, returnable). There is a spinner to dry costumes (and in the mens) and plastic bags provided for wet costumes.
We went into the bar to order a coffee but spent ages waiting until a staff member appeared from the back. A late and pot of tea cost about £6, however my husband really loved the coffee and I got about 4 cups out of the tea, plus a jug of fresh milk. The bar area was very stylish, a sort of brown and orange 70’s style but was a little cold so didn’t make it very cosy.
As we drank we saw a chap return his meal to the bar because it was supposed to be vegetarian and it wasn’t, which made us uneasy about our allergy issues, the menu seemed to be a bit “fussy” and was quite costly so we decided to leave early and lunch somewhere else.
All in all we enjoyed our morning here and would come back during term time and definitely have the massage again.
We arrived at the Scotsman Spa and health club 3 hours before our spa treatments were scheduled in, on arrival we were pleasantly greeted by the lady behind the desk, she proceeded to take our details and handed us our robes, towels and slippers before giving us a 5 minute guide of the spa's fantastic facilities, whilst my other half read some magazines on a comfortable lounger by the pool I took up the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the fantasticly equipped gym where a member of staff was always available to help out if needed. In the changing rooms and shower area there were more than enough lockers for everyone as well as hair dryers, complimentary shower gel's and shampoo, trunk dryer and even a wall mounted 46" tv, all the areas of the locker rooms ie...showers, toilets etc were spacious and immaculatley clean. About an hour before our treatments we took time out to sit in the lounge area were we purchased a couple of fresh fruit smoothies and a freshly made to order sandwich which were both as gorgeous as each other. When it was time for our treatments we were greeted by our therapists who lead us to the treatment rooms where our treatments began, we had previously asked if we could have our massages in the same room which was catered for, our room was dimly lit by an abundance of pleasantly scented candles and there was a relaxing music playing softly in the background, the perfect combination for a relaxing atmosphere, our treatments began and lasted for 55 minutes, there are not enough words in my vocabulary to describe how good they were, absolutely immense. Once they were over we were quietly lead to a 'quiet zone' were we were given a choice of the lounger s ie...sun loungers, suspended half dome loungers, chaise's, once chosen we were wrapped in oversized soft white duvets and presented with herbal tea, iced water and a choice of fresh fruit, we were told to spend as much time as we wanted in the quiet zone to let our relaxation continue. After about 30 minutes we made our way back to the pool area were we indulged in the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. All in all we spent about 6 hours at The Scotsman Spa and Health club were every second we enjoyed and was perfect, it took us 3 hours to get to Edinburgh by train from were we live, I would happily WALK that distance for another experience like the one we had. The Scotsman Spa and health club is a cut hove anything we have ever experienced before, they have set a standard to such a high level. Fantastic.
great place for a short break
5 mins from park and ride to the city £1.70 return bargain!!!
long walk around coridoors to our room and no lift but comfortable and clean
dont need a sauna rooms are hot enough!!
Really enjoyed the spa and pool (with no kids) at the time i was there. Lovely heated seats (2) nr to the pool area. Cafe nice but not cheap! Treatments v good. This was my second visit and I enjoyed it just as much. Although there were no plastic bags to put wet swimming stuff in I realise they may trying to save the environment. The swimsuit dryers only partially dried the things. A pleasant afternoon and I would definiately go again.
Absolutely top class service and lovely clean facilities. Can't wait to go back :-) Staff very friendly and helpful. Great place to relax and chill out. Will definitely reccomend to others.
Not the easiest venue to get to, but we took a bus from Clapham Junction which dropped us nearby .... well worth the effort ....The staff were friendly and the facilities were great ..... a great day out ...
We had a lovely romantic afternoon there. Perfect place for a young couples. Great atmosphere, place looking chick and clean. Would highly recommend. Shame we leave in London, otherwise we would go back there often.
I went together with my girlfriend. Really enjoyed the facilities, very nice and clean. The aromatherapy rooms ham man was nice and warm. The pool was spacious and hydropool good temperature and nice bubbles. We went on a twilight spa package and included two course dinner. Nice portions good food. Would really go again.
I had a 2 week membership which included use of all the exercise equipment, pool, sauna, spa bath and steam room. The staff were friendly, as were the other members and there was always equipment available to use, although the pool was sometimes very busy- particularly when children were having private lessons.
On the whole the place was clean and tidy and the changing room facilities were good as well, this is a really nice place to go and I would recommend it.
This spa was for a present for my mother's birthday. It was great, we had a great time and well worth a visit. We would come to the spa again it was a great day and a wonderful birthday present.
i really enjoyed our stay at the hotel it was so relaxing a great place as we were on our honeymoon great location near to shops and beach .thee food was so good i enjoyed it very much .
There are two areas to the Sanctuary. The spa itself which is lovely and the staff are excellent and then you have the shop front which is manned by different staff. The Wahanda deal wasn't for the spa really it was for the shop where you received a drink on arrival and discounts on purchases and complimentary samples if you bought products. I work around the corner so have always wanted to go and my time at the spa was lovely (booked separately for a different night) but unfortunately I wasn't happy with the customer service on the shop floor and have already written to complain and in fairness to the Sanctuary they have made an apology. Essentially the shop floor is too small for free events because there is little space to move. Staff were quite stressed with the numbers of people in the shop and it made for a rather unrelaxing experience. That said the spa is lovely and the staff within the spa provide an excellent service so do go to the spa -that's worth a trip. I found going in the evening is a little bit cheaper and 4-5 hours is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the different areas.
It was a perfect day; the staff were very welcoming and efficient. The ambience of the place was peaceful and relaxing and the lunch was delicious. My daughter and I felt the offer 2 for 1 was excellent and would encourage us to go again. Absolutely no complaints
we really enjoyed our time at Tankersley Manor, so much so that we've booked to go again. The only slight critisism that i have is that the pool temperature was a little warm. Other than that it was great :) thank you
I have been a member here for two years and visit at least three times a week.. The facilities are fantastic. Very new and modern exercise equipment and plenty of it! You will never have to wait to use a machine, which is a problem I have experienced in other gyms. In the warmer months, you can swim in a lovely outdoor pool which is a real treat in London. Unfortunately, the front desk staff do not live up to the standard that you would expect I have found them to be quite rude and stand-offish at times, which really lets the gym down. It's also pretty pricey. I pay £90 per month, and that is without tennis, but I justify that by making the most of facilities and classes.
It was a nice venue but the jacussi was not working and the mud treatment was do it yourself, nice staff and facilities overall, I would go back if it was a great deal
This was a great deal on a spa break at Ramada Jarvis Grande in North Brisol. The grounds of the hotel were really beautiful and quiet with a lot of different areas to relax and enjoy the scenery. Since I booked the deal with Wahanda all of our meals were included in the restaurant which were surprisingly good. Dinner was a 3 course menu with a variety of options for meat eaters and veggies alike. Breakfast had a buffet with traditional English breakfast as well as the standard continental options. Our room was comfortable, nothing terribly fancy but it was clean and had all the necessary amenities. We did not take advantage of any spa treatments but our hotel stay was still relaxing. I would recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
Went to Aldwark Manor for a spa day with my partner beautiful spa with good facilities. The pool, sauna and steam were all kept well and clean. We look forward to visiing this venue again and trying out some treatments next time.
Me and my partner booked a spa day here with a massage treatment, on arrival the venue is very impressive and set in beautiful grounds, the staff are very friendly and all facilities here are tip-top - great cardio workout area, free weights and a lovely swimming pool with steam and sauna room. I will say the pool and sauna is a bit small but it was quiet on our visit so this wasnt a problem. The massage was great, with great smellign lotions. would highly recommend the spa day at this venue!
Fabulous place in an amazing countyside setting with beautiful grounds. Great pool , Gym etc and the manicure was really good considering it was only a mini one. only down side was the Lunch, we ordered something quick but were told after waiting 15 minutes that our items were no longer available ended up eating something i didnt really want very quickly and the bar and restaurant were very expensive but I suppose thats what you pay in a four star hotel. Overall great day out
Lovely Hydradermie treatment done, nice long and relaxing facial. The massage rollers on face felt very calming and comforting. The therapist was lovely, friendly and gave me advice for products for my skin afterwards. Facilities were a little bit less grant then expected,,,pool was small and looked a bit old...but sauna and steamroom nice...overall a lovely experience. Would return!
hotel was in a quiet area and a 5 min walk away from the almondvale centre. the hotel was contemporary and well furnished and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. staff were friendly and helpful.
the bedroom was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
the dining area was the highlight for us as we really enjoy our food. the choice of food was great and the food was absolutely delishious 10/10.
we enjoyed using the swimming pool (albeit a small one) and the steam and sauna rooms. the gym was small as well but luckily it was not busy so we could use any of the facilities most of the time.
overalll a great 2 night break.
Really great value for money. Beautiful surroundings. Staff were really friendly. Food and service very good. The pool facilities and changing rooms were of a high standard. We indulged in the Heat & Ice Experience, which was lovely. The Relaxation Room has a calming ambience and I could have easily fallen asleep in there. Did not feel pressured into having any additional treatments and there was plenty to do without the extra expense on this occasion. Planning an overnight stay next time and really looking forward to going back. Would recommend to everyone, including men - as I think it's the kind of spa where men can feel comfortable too.
I'm writting this no behalf of my mother who attended Crabwell as a day spa member. She had a wonderful time. Especially loved how the pool led to outside. It was a beautiful sunny day so felt like being on holiday, the pool was a little sun trap. The indoor pool was a little cold for her at first but she soon aclimatised. Unfortunately she didn't have a treatment but she will definately be going back for a full package. Thanks Wahanda, my mum had a lovely day!
I have recommended Titanic to everyone I know. It couldn't have been any better. Everything was first class from walking through the door. Robes, towels and slippers provided. Refreshments on arrival. Fantastic lunch. Heat and Ice Experience really relaxing. Swimming pool lovely and clean with attached jacuzzi. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Felt relaxed all day. Very good value for money. Will be going again soon.
Went for the spa day with Elemis booster facial treatment with my boyfriend. We spent some time in the spa first. The spa is quite small, but very clean and nice. We really liked the spa pool, which was fantastically relaxing. There are only two/three heated beds, which is a shame as that's the only place to lounge and read really. The steam room wasn't working too well when we were there - it was quite cold. But the spa has a nice polished atmosphere. The treatments themselves were good. Not particularly relaxing and over quite quickly (supposed to be 25 minutes - more like 15). Unfortunately the therapist was texting when I had the products on my face - even though her phone was on silent, I thought it rather unprofessional as I could hear it. There was also an overemphasis on buying products I thought. My boyfriend had the facial next door at the same time. He really loved it! Although it transpired about a month later that he had been asked to take his clothes off.... which I think is pretty hilarious.
We went to this hotel last weekend and it was great. Very nice large room with tea and coffee facilities. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really nice as there was lots of choice – English breakfast, with continental also. The spa facilities were very nice, large pool, nice sauna, and steam room. The staff provided large towels as well.
this is a fab gym with great facilities however in my opinion it is a little overpriced.
What a super super day! You go to these discount offers and expect the extras to cost you but here it didn't! Was gorgeous place, great staff and lovely service! Felt so relaxed after the day i wasn't sure i could get back on the train to go home!! SUPER!!!! I had a good manicure and water features including pool and jacuzzi were great!! Fab ambiance!!
A fabulous girly day out, just complete bliss!! Bit nervous in my dressing gown at first but soon settled in, can i live there?
Myself and Mum had a lovely relaxing day - food was fabulous and we went on a day that wasn't too busy. The grounds and building were lovely - we thoroughly enjoyed our day and will book treatments next time as the looked a treat!
Had a really lovely relaxing day with family. Facililities great, very clean and not too busy. Lovely location in beautiful, historic hotel. Food was gorgeous, and reasonably priced. I did not have any treatments this time, as didn't have enough time, but will definately next time!!
Took my daughter for her 19th Birthday, superb hotel and facilities. The food was to die for really delicious.
The staff where helpful and attnetive very professional. Our treatments in the spa were fab.
A brilliant time , fantastic value package
For £5 it was excellent value to use the facilities. Unfortunatley there was no where comfortable and welcoming to lounge around in in relative privecy other than the pool side. ie, with people who were also using the facilites for a spa day. Staff was unawre of booking and what it included. however was shown around by nice man who arranged for us to use the spa 'room'. unfortunetly this consisted of a narrow corridor with sofas. we loved the coffee in the bistro cafe though it did cost £12 for four. but again hotel prices so evpected this. Food looked well priced and they sold few items of fruit for 50p. the venue was very busy so they must be doing something right. At least we have had a look now.
The spa wet facilities were really nice. Several jaccuzi pools, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and plinge pool. It was clean and not too busy during the day. The staff were very nice and the facial was very relaxing. We were able to have lunch there as well and had a lovely time lounging round in the robe and slippers...
Tired facilities and really not very clean.
Therapists are generally excellent.
Overall rest of the staff indifferent and the management team are hopeless.
Poor communication with members.
Remove facilities without notice.
Fitness Tests based on pseudo science so cannot base your programmes around them
Had a lovely time a Amida with a friend, spa was virtually empty and the facilities were in great condition, had a lovely lunch outside by the tennis courts and a fab facial to finish it off - overall a great day of pampering - pure girlie bliss!!
We had a very relaxing time at Amida SPA. We used wet spa facilities (swimming pool, hydromassage pool, sauna, sanarium) and had Elemis facial! Very clean faciltites, no crowds, friendly and professional staff, both reception and beauty therapist. Uberfriendly and very professional staff at the restaurant/bar of Chelsea Harbour Club! No flaws at all. Although it wasn't easy to find the club, no direction or signes on the street. We would do it again.
to be honest we arrived 15 minutes earlier than the event should have began and it had already began. When we tried to book our treatment there was very little availability and we had a hour and half wait berfore one us us could go, so we chose not to have treatments. The spa appeared lovely from what we saw. We were greated with a glass of pims and lovely fruit platter. The stalls selling items were poor their were only 3 and the only good one was the jewllery stand. In total we stayed 15 mins so was a waste of time for us. The goody bag wasn't much a out of date wahanda voucher, pocket mirror which has been handy and leaflets on Ardencote spa. In all a very disapointing evening.
This is the loveliest spa I have ever visited. Food, atmosphere, rooms, surroundings, pool etc were first class. If I were to criticise, and this was hard with such a good deal, it was that there was too many people which meant it was hard to get a space in the jacuzzi and could not book onto the classes we wanted. If there was another offer, I would hope to return but full prices are out of my budget.
Spent the morning at the spa, enjoying the pool and jacuzzi. The pool was quite cold but soon adjusted to the temperature. I very much enjoyed the heated sun-lounger! Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable day spent!
my husband and `i went for our first but not our last time in july this year to celebrate 29 years of marriage we had this most wonderfull time the staff were very attendtive the food was fab and great value we stayed in the suite the lady mary which was beautiful the castle was full of nooks and cranny s the decor was fresh the pool ans spa area spotless and so relaxing the manager jason was lovely took time to tell us all about castle the local area and a bit about him self which was so refreshing as now a days no one has any time for each other would recomend and will be back asap thanks jason to you and your staff
I've been at Roko's for a few months now and I've really enjoyed my time so far. I've got a personal trainer (Phil) who I see twice a week for an hour each time. I was a bit nervous about having a personal trainer as I've never had one before, but Phil is a really nice guy and though we have a good chat whenever we see each other he's also good at pushing me when I need to be pushed or am just being lazy!
I've definitely felt the benefit of having a personal trainer, and I feel a lot more motivated in general since I started. In terms of the gym itself, it's got lots of machines which means no waiting around even when it gets busy. They have two pools but one of them is outside which isn't great when its cold out but still its a good size with lots of room to stretch out in.
The NYHRC location at 13th Street is not only a great location to go to, but it has many types of classes available. My favorite class of all time is AQUA ZUMBA. (Now just to let you know, I’ve never done Zumba on land, ONLY in the water.) If you haven’t tried it yet, I can tell you this workout “Gives me Energy!”
Our Instructor is Taryn Hitchman and every Monday I look forward to our 45-minute AQUA ZUMBA workout in the water. The water is used as resistance, so it’s easy for the moves to tone and strengthen our bodies. Since I had my knee surgeries, I find that the water frees me to leap, turn, glide, and dance like “the landlubbers”…. Plus it’s the easiest way for me to stay in shape and enjoy it.
The music is mostly Latin with an upbeat rhythm and with Taryn, it’s easy to follow her moves, so I don’t have to think about working out. I just jump in and join her and the group as we laugh, splash and dance our way to better fitness. And heck, I’ll say it;
“A Really Good Time!”

I was a member of Esporta Wandsworth during 2005/2006. The date on my review doesn't match, but there's a limitation on it, so I put the year as far back as it would allow me. I loved it there, it's the gym equivalent of a 4* hotel. The facilities were excellent and the changing rooms the cleanest I have ever visited. The swimming pool at lunch time was pretty empty which was something that attracted me as I hate crowded gyms and waiting to use machines, so my personal trainer came up with a plan that included twice weekly swimming lessons. The off peak prices were ok and they also offer a good corporate plan if there's enough of you to join. The only reason I left was because I moved abroad. If the standards are still the same it's a place not to miss out.
Beautiful venue on approach. Nice welcome at the reception desk. The facilities are in excellent condition and are very clean. There was a mix up with our booking. Staff seemed confused about their own deals and those they offer through Wahanda. Spa Director not helpful at all. Also did not get the two course meal as we should have through Wahanda deal, got a barbeque instead which I am sure was of much less value. Would not visit again. Aesthetics far outweigh the service at Mere.
The hotel is really nice and very new and flash! We did choose to stay on Easter Thursday, which was very very quiet in the hotel. The spa facilities were very nice, and the staff were very hospitable and the food in the hotel was ok, but nothing special. It was great to be able to relax in the outdoor hot tub and watch the people racing on the track in the day...
Nice modern pool area, I'm afraid also used by hotel guests ( noisy football fans - teenage boys when we were there) We went with a group of friends (all girls).
There was a slight mix up over the treatments we had booked in advance and my friend was expecting an aromatherapy back massage but received a facial, should have been 35 min but was only 15 min.
My back massage was very relaxing but could have been a litlle longer, just under 25 min. It felt like the therapist was rushed, and because we had booked a great deal we wondered if that had to do with it?!
Any way nice modern pool area with funky tiles (steel) in pool
well i had a free day to try the center out 3 months ago and i fell in love with the place i pay 71 pound off peak a month and i think its worth every penny the spa is fantastic and the gym is great too i havnt tried the classes as i enjoy working out on my own but im sure they are fine so ive heard.the staff are very nice too infact its so nice my boyfriend has now joined so he can use the babmington classes gym swimming pool and spa.we also play tennis which is a nice bonus.
this is the best health center ive been a member of its a slice of heaven on a daily basis i would highly reccomend david lloyd to all.the only regret i have is that i didnt join it sooner
Very pleasant location and facilities - the pool and sauna are good and never get too busy or crowded
I've been a member of gll in Hackney for a few years and have always been impressed with their services. When I moved to Waltham forest, this was the first gym that I tried out to be my new local and regular one.
While the pool and track looked pretty good, the gym was really dissapointing. It is tiny, with no windows and lots of broken machines. The changing rooms were frankly terrifying! Dank with flickering lights. I've never got dressed so quickly!
If you want to join a gym in E17 DONT go here! Peter May, which is about a mile away and also in the gll group is so much better
I treated my friend to a 'spa break' at this hotel which was extremely good value for money. We received bed, breakfast and a spa treatment for £115 for two people (amazing, obviously). But I couldn't help feeling very disappointed by the 'spa'. Firstly, it's not a hotel spa; it's a gym in the same shopping centre as the hotel which happens to have a hair and beauty salon attached to it. The gym has a couple of spa facilities (e.g. swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms) but it's not what I would call a hotel spa in a million years. My friend and I had allotted most of the second day to spend at the 'spa', but were fed up after just an hour. It's really not the kind of place you'd want to hang out in and relax. The staff in the salon were lovely but I wasn't given a consultation before my massage. I was also left to wait for about 10 minutes after getting undressed and into position on the couch, which ate into my massage time. I would recommend this place if you can get a decent deal like I did but please be aware of all of the above before booking or I think you'll be disappointed.
Thank goodness for satnavs! The David Lloyd club is in the suburban depths of Beckenham but what fantastic facilities. We went to the spa to book in and were given a robe, towel and an Elemis sample and were taken to the changing room. We spent a wonderfully relaxing time in the various jacuzzis, steam room and pool. We had an excellent lunch in the restaurant and then went for our facials. The Elemis facial was very good and we felt wonderful. The spa gave us a 15% discount coupon and we managed to spend quite a lot of perfume, creams and Christmas presents. Overall an excellent experience.
i made the mistake of sighning up for a years membership. i like the fact its described as a health club as this is nowhere near the truth its dirty, mouldy, damp, tiles hanging lose from walls and ceiling.
i dont think they clean the steam room atall.
I visited Esporta Wandsworth (London) on 18/10/2010 having a British Gas voucher for a free swim entitle two adults to enter.
One member of staff who positioned herself as a Manager was very rude, bossy and patronizing. She refused my friend and me to enter, stating that each person must have a separate voucher, which was not the case, and I proved this later.
To make my first experience even worse, and when I asked to see a senior manager, she had made a lie story, that it was me, who were rude and was using a foul language! The lie was appalling!
I totally agree that these people have no understanding of the customer service whatsoever, and they do not care what impression their guests can have in the end.
As I was not giving the entry, I cannot comment on their facilities inside, but I have had enough in so-called “front-line service”.
If you respect yourself, your dignity and your privacy – stay away from Esporta!
absolutely amazing! went for a half day spa on a two for one voucher- worth every penny, from the jacuzzi and steam room to the massage and facial. not forgetting the delicious afternoon tea. can't wait to go again!
Took my mum as a birthday present and wasn't sure quite what to expect but other than ourhotel room being on the verge of a little run down (possibly others are better), the building and gardens are beautiful and the spa and gym is in good condition, the classes entertaining and the whole place very much empty enought to enjoy. The girls doing the beauty treatements were excellent too, and they're good value compare to some places! Would definitely go again.
I love this place. The swimming pool is absolutely lovely - really long, just can get a bit crowded at times, but mostly it's quiet. The steam rooms and sauna are nice and I especially like the heated beds. The body exfoliation massage was just okay - not great, but it was fine overall. I would definitely go back at any time there and if I lived closer, would become a member as it;s so nice.
I had a fantastic time today at Nuffield Health Marshall Street. I went there as part as the open weekend, and I am very grateful that the centre was open to the general public for free.
The whole building has been tastefully redecorated and refurbished and I was so impressed with the swimming pool, which is completely lined with marble and there's even a fountain that reminded me of the Gellert Spa in Budapest.
Everything was spotless, which is vital for wet areas. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful.
I tried the sauna as well, shame they don't have a jacuzzi...
I will go back on a pay as you go basis as I am not residing in the area (residents get a hefty discount), and for swimming it's a reasonable £5.25 per visit. Highly recommended.
Love their Sunday evening roller skating sessions. Great fun and great for keeping fit with the family. Learning new moves from skate guards as well so very pleased.
Staff member Lee is a credit to this venue, had a lovely time, a great little find.
i have been going to Nuffield Health for about a month now and i am very satisfied with everything that i have seen, i have recieved a very warm welcome on every entry and when i go swimming i find the pool is never to busy and that the chlorine levels are very satisfactory as my eyes do not sting.
A day here is seriously like a mini vacation. Even my husband loves this place.
Taking my mom and friend this Saturday!
My husband and I went to the spa as a getaway from the kids and to relax. We had a wonderful timed and the grounds were so amazingly beautiful. There happened to be a lot of jellow-jacket bees that month and they were everywhere. The staff did an incredible job of keeping them away and providing extra attention to every detail. When we got our lunch we were surrounded by the bees and could not sit outside. One of the staff (Sarah) quickly took our food and escorted us to a room where we could enjoy our food and have a beautiful big window to look out and see everything. The attention she took to detail really touched our hearts and we cant stop talking about it. The entire day was magical and we will definetely go back again and again.
On Sun 1st Aug I visited Northolt Centre to swim in the small pool from 6.30 - 7.30pm which is for adults only. Arriving at approx. 6.15pm and finding the pool full of children with their parents, I stayed at edges of the pool waiting for 6.30pm for adults only.
It was 6.33pm before the children finally left the pool, however, there was a couple of adults with two young kids still in the pool. The lifeguard told everyone to sit on the edge of the pool while he lowered the floor. The two young children were still on the edge of the pool and the depth was changed from 90 to 163. The children remained on the edge of the pool, while their parents swam. I was at the other end of the pool and seeing that the water was to deep for me, I spoke to another lifeguard about this. Neither lifeguards were willing to change the depth to 120 (which was the depth the previous sunday). A lady at the pool half got in the water and said it was too deep - the lifeguard just said to her ' I can get you a rubber ring ' This was totally unacceptable and I therefore left the pool.
After getting dressed I went to the front reception desk - there was a couple in front of me and another lady in a wheelchair waiting. I waited for approx 15 mins before I could speak to the receptionist to gain a refund as I had not been able to swim.
I was given a refund, but no apology. I will not be going to this swimming centre again.
I would also like it known, that being adults only from 6.30 - 7.30pm children should not have been allowed to remain in the pool area, and especially not on the edge of the pool when the depth was 163
The front reception staff are extremely slow on every occasion I have visited.
They should look to the Chiswick Swimming Centre, which has a fitness pool and a separate wave pool - which is far more useful with the 2 hours mid-day of lane swimming in a fitness pool of shallow water. I have also visited Milton Keynes David Lloyd Leisure swimming, where both the indoor pool and outdoor pools are of a reasonable water depth for swimming.
I've been a member since February 2010 and try and attend 2-3 times a week. I've been to the majority of classes, the gym and the pool area. You can use any Virgin gym with your membership card so good for if you travel or work near another gym.
Classes
Would definitely say this is the best part. The variety of classes is great and all the instructors I have had are great, especially Claire and Dennis in Spining, they certainly work you hard! But you don't even realise the time, it really does fly by. You have to book in for classes the day before which I personally think works great as it means the classes don't get booked up by people who book and then forget to attend. They also operate a standby system if the class is booked up. One tiny moan is the air con, it's just not powerfull enough in the spin room or studio!
Gym
Average size for a London gym. You do have to queue for the cardio equipment in busy times which can get frustrating. It also has 2 powerplate machines which are free to use and when I first used them a member of staff spent about 20 mins with me going through various exercises which was very useful.
Pool are
Again average size pool for a London gym and it's never been overcrowded when I've used it. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms which is a nice added extra. Oh and free towels which is a big bonus!
Overall, a good gym with lots of facilities and worth a look around.
Took my daughter as a birthday treat. We had a nice room and breakfast. The hotel is quiet and clean. The staff were very friendly. The spa is lovely - nice swimming pool with lounging chairs and a steam room & sauna. Plus a cafe where you can sit in a dressing gown to eat! The massage we received was not the best in the world (too soft pressure) but overall it was pleasant. I definitely plan to return.
Amazing spa - the best facilities and beautiful surroundings. Great food and not too pricey.
Expensive but really worth it if you are looking for a special treat, well worth taking up any deals you won't be disappointed!
Really enjoyed my spa/pamper day at the Spirit Health Club, Fareham. The staff were always enthusiastic and happy to help, the facilities clean and organised. Used the gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi but they also had studio classes, free weights and a steam room that I didn't get round to. Had 2 treatments- a manicure and a facial, which were great. My other half had a back neck and shoulder massage which he really enjoyed too. The hotel was lovely and we had a nice lunch. The bartender went above and beyond the call of duty, going out of his way to give us discount which I didn't even know we were entitled to! If we lived closer I would have signed up straight away for membership as the experience was faultless.
I recieved a spa day for 2 from my lovely little sister in June. The grounds and facilities were okay, especially the gym (though was bombarded by loud, commercial music - would've preferred to listen to my own) and pool area.
We had a reasonable 2-course lunch (you had to choose whether you wanted a starter OR a dessert) and then enjoyed a facial (therapist was lovely - but treatment was nothing special) and massage respectively...so far so good. Then we went to the reception to request our sunbed tokens....we were met by a lady in her 50's/60's with short hair, who rudely informed us that our 'luxury' spa-day didn't include that, and if we wanted to tan we would have to pay extra. Something we might have been inclined to do, if we hadn't been been spoken to in such a poor manner. As it was, her attitude made us get our thing's and leave immediately.
We had an amazing day, and were considering joining up as members - because of the receptionist, we will never go back, and have told friends they would be wise to avoid the place. Any 'spa' who hires a poorly-spoken, rude women - who looks as if she has never had a spa treatment in her life...is not a place I wanna go make pretty. Hope this review is helpful.
This health club is set in a lovely location. There are large windows spanning across one side of the building which means when in the gym and swimming pool you are presented with lovely views of the Newbury Racecourse and the Newbury countryside.
The staff and warm and attentive and the facilities were clean and to a high standard.
I regularly use this gym and would recommend it to anyone in the area.
This is a modern gym - but there are not many machines. All the money has been spent on the ladies with lots of vibrating powerplate machines but at the expense of basic equipment for the boys like bicep curl or abdominal crunch machines.
If you are a young lad who wants to get some muscles this def isn’t the gym for you!
I came to the Crossings with a group from work. It is an incredibly beautiful property. The food was amazing both tasty, healthy and many options for those with special needs. They were also especially receptive to allergies or specific food requirements. The rooms are clean and nice but not over the top. There are really nice teas and coffee in the room and even more options in the cafeteria.
As we were in group sessions all day the Crossings organized a special yoga instruction for us at 7am each morning we were there. We paid for this separately and it was well worth it to wake up to yoga and then start a full day of workshops.
I also went on a short hike through the wooded area which lead to a sanctuary. It was a place one could come to meditate, do yoga, read a book or just walk around.
The pool area near the spa has gorgeous views and is quiet and peaceful. It has everything you might need including an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, cold plunge pool (that was temporarily out of order) and a sauna.
It looks as though there has been a complete remodel since I was there in July. The website is new and there isn't any mention of a spa. The spa when I was there was beautiful, peaceful and had a earthy/organic feel to it. The male staff member was extremely helpful in choosing a treatment. I chose "Watsu". Watsu, a portmanteau of water and shiatsu, is a form of body massage performed while lying in warm water (around 35 °C or 95 °F). The receiver of Watsu treatment is continuously supported by the therapist while he or she rocks and gently stretches the body. Because it is performed in the water, the body is free to be manipulated and stretched in ways impossible while on the land (according to Wikipedia).
The experience of Watsu was hard to explain. It was soothing, calming and nurturing somehow. I left shortly after the treatment to go back home to Brooklyn and felt like I'd been on vacation and not at a work conference.
The night before we left there was live music in the bar and the owner herself came out to the lovely patio/outside dining area to invite us in for the music. This is not just a Retreat Center but the owners life long dream. It is very apparent that a lot of love and devotion has gone into this place which you can see from the small attention to details. This is not for those who are looking for super luxury and/or to be waited on hand and foot. This place has a earthy and wholesome feel where deep relaxation is possible.
First of all I must say that the spa treatment menu looks amazing - facials & body treatments from Decleor and Thalgo seemed very appealing, but unfortunately all appointments were already booked.
So, my friend & I went to check out the pool, sauna & steamroom instead. The pool is a weird rounded shape which I think would be great for hanging out, but there is no real space for any dedicated swimming of laps.
There is a separate "Roman Baths" section of the facility that houses the whirlpool, steam & sauna areas.
The whirlpool is not bad...it can get a bit tight if there are more than 3 people in there, but it seemed nice enough. A bit cold & medical as opposed to luxurious, i thought.
The sauna room was not bad, but i actually really liked the steam room. Plus there were cold water hoses and sinks in the steam room which was nice I thought.
Overall, not a bad place to kill some time as the cost of the facilities was included in the room. I have heard great things about the treatments, so next time I must book earlier!
A friend received free day passes to this spa through the accomodation she was staying at in Edinburgh. It was one of those roasting hot days where you can't bear to be outdoors but feel too guilty to stay indoors so we decided to treat ourselves to the ultimate relaxing cool down: a swim in their stainless steel swimming pool. And it certainly delivered! We spent such a nice relaxing afternoon alternating trips in the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, tropical showers and pool before heading off and using all the lovely Cow body lotions they offer you complimentary whilst drying off. Didn't get a chance to get a treatment but saw plenty I fancied, and would love one day to treat me and my friends to a Sex and They City pampering day where you watch the much loved series whilst pampering yourself Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha style!
After closing down for a couple of weeks, LA Fitness Northwood is back, and what a makeover! Gone are the dingy carpets and old lockers, gone the tiny sauna and steam room. A brand new spa area near the pool has been opened, and it's a whole different after-workout relaxation half an hour. Unless you happen to pop in the jacuzzi when there's a children swimming lesson a inch away from you, like I did. Easily avoidable by looking at the timetables: highly recommended practice!
I highly suggest anybody looking for yoga lessons in the area to enquire about which instructor is teaching and when. The two instructors I came across have two very different styles, and are catering to already formed classes of ladies (and the odd gent). I had some trouble adjucting to the morning yoga routine after months spent in the evening class.
Definetly thumbs up to the management for finally equipping the gym with a stretching area, a separate free-weight room and a spinning room. No more sweat drops near my yoga mat!
The first thing that strikes you when driving up to the spa and hotel is how beautiful the surrounding area is. The house is set in acres of well- maintained land and it feels luxurious and relaxing before you've even entered.
Holme Lacy House is only a 10-15 minute drive from the city yet you feel a million miles away the city smog and stress.
There's plenty of parking and as soon as you enter the building there is an immense sense of relaxation. I started with a facial and the therapist, despite being only 18 was fantastic. She gave the right balance of conversation and silence, and the therapy room was gorgeous, with plenty of fluffy towels, relaxing music and flowers.
The facial itself was lovely, the therapist explained what products she was using and why they would benefit my skin (she analyised my skin type before the facial).
After my treatment we moved on to the spa and swimming area. All guests are provided with towels and the changing area was good, although could have done with more private booths.
The swimming pool is a good size and was very quiet. The steam room and sauna were excellent, and there are cold water machines around the pool which were a brilliant idea.
After our swim and sauna we headed out for a drink on the grounds. It seems to be very popular with elderly people and many were visiting the hotel with a large group. There were activities like giant chess on the lawn and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. Guests are free to wander the grounds and they are certainly very impressive, with water features and plenty of pretty plants and flowers.
Overall I couldn't recommend this spa more, I can't imagine a more beautiful setting and it is certainly the most perfect place to relax.
I had been to Aquadrome with my little boy, it has a nice pool with moving water and a saparate area for toddlers. Its a nice place for family swimming day out.
It was a really great day out. I was feeling so relaxed and good after the treatments - like as if I had got a new body. The spa facilities was really great and the staff friendly and kind. I got the offer 2 for 1 - a great value for your money as you also get a money off voucher for food in the Cantine.
I can only recoment people to pamper themselves at Wahana and would love to go again myself.
Went for swimming classes with my baby at Virgin. Clean pool and tidy changing rooms. Feels very big and a bit impersonal but for being a chain like Virgin its ok. Liked the Notting Hill venue better than High Street Kensington (better lighting, bigger pool etc).
Oasis is centrally located and it has not one, but two swimming pools. One indoor pool that has more serious swimming going on in lap lanes, and also an outdoor pool that is more of a free swim type pool. There are people of all ages and its actually not bad even though it has a ery concrete feel about it. There is a sundeck / tanning area that again, is very concrete.
Its definitely NOT luxurious by any means, but I used to pop down from my office some afternoons, you can pay for the day (so no membership required) and get some sun and pool action. Its not bad, and since I am not a member of Shoreditch House (not to mention its super far away), I guess the Oasis is good enough for me when I want some outdoor London pool action.
I was able to workout using the fitness studio available in the Adults Only area. The studio was cramped but the equipment adequate for a nice workout. There was a TV on to watch EuroSport, videos or the news. After the workout, the pool was available for a quick dip, which was needed since the studio did not have A/C and it was hot in early July. The other pools were also nice to swim in. Other: I used the golf facility several times. It's only a driving and pitch/putt range. It was great to swing facing the MedSea, gave the feeling I was at a famous hole. But the lack of manicured greens didn't allow for 'real' practice. Club Overall: The club was beautiful, great views. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The Well-Fit menu is great, especially when they offer the recipes for you to try at home.
I was with my family at the robinson club resort Daidalos. There was something for everyone, even my 3-year old daughter was well taken care of. This club was very family-friendly, we all had a great time there. I even enjoyed so called adult areas once in a while. This club is definitely worth a recommendation.. I had a pedicure at the spa, and it was the best i've ever had, because after 10 days beach it was really necessary. ;-)
I visited Four Seasons HK this summer and was hugely impressed with the facilities and location. The design of FS hotels vary greatly and this particular hotel on first impression looks fairly clinical and business-like, which clearly sits well within it's location in Central, bang in the middle of HK's financial district. The central atrium is vast and striking and the restaurant and bars are dripping in luxury. I popped my head into the Spa, but it was a little out of my price range at the time so sadly I couldn't take advantage of the very seductive and large range of treatments on offer. I did however, have a dip in their 2 rooftop pool's which had tremendous views over the harbour. It was dusk and the humidity was choking, but being able to luxuriate in the water with a cocktail whilst watching all the buildings light up across the harbour was a godsend and a fantastic introduction to my short stay in Hong Kong.
I have stayed at this hotel many times for business, and the spa & swimming pool area is really amazing. I have not had any treatments, but the swimming pool is beautifully designed - feels like you are swimming in a gorgeous cave. You can do laps, but its more of an ambience pool than a lap pool
The only issue is getting to the fitness area requires you to go through part of the lobby area, which is not ideal since it is a high traffic area.
The hotel itself is also lovely - the rooms are fantastic.
