Very nice instructor, small class (around 3 or 4 people). The place does not feel cramp, as it has high ceilings. My second time going and has to say that it was another positive experience. I liked it.

I have been returning now on Wahanda deals for more than a year for their Power Plate classes. This place is professional, clean, and delivers excellent service. The trainers are always friendly and give great classes. (Anton's, Sam's and Kara's sessions are especially good). Reception staff is always friendly and efficient. The changing facilities are good and clean, with all the basics provided (cotton buds, hand cream, and the like). My only, tiny gripe would be with the lighting in the changing rooms as it is a little dim. If you want to enhance your fitness or introduce a little change into your routine, their Power Plate classes are well worth your time and money.

I have visited this great salon a few times after finding it accidently on the internet through wahanda. They are a great local salon. It's a fantastic place which offers a one-stop shop type of service.

The beauty room is lovely and comfortable and very relaxing with music and candles used when I had my relaxing massage and facial (on special offer for a tenner wow). And they offer other services from excercise classes to hairdressing. I find it well worth the visit as you can get good quality treatments all at great prices and in a relaxed, friendly enviroment (they seem to know almost every customer that walks through the door). The therapists are lovely and skilled in the treatments.

It is a little tucked away as its in a shopping square, but, there is plenty of parking at the rear of the shops next to the school and its a great find.

You can really tell the people that work here put their heart and soul into the place. Keep it up.

Im still coming to Laura coz she is just tha best EVER!!
I joined in Jan, little too curvy after the holidays and gyms are really horrid places so my mate said for me to go see her.
She makes you laugh, feel really at ease, and for a machine i thought you just stood on she really worked me hard. I go twice a week and im nearly 2 dresses smaller now.
I love the way she works well with everyone it feels brilliant going in and i miss it if i cant go.
Go see her she will work you so great!!

I used the Flabelos machine in Nirvana. The staff are very friendly and happy to take time to explain how the machine works. I have had to change the time/date of my appointments a couple of times but there has never been a problem with getting a suitable time. Once I got used to the machine it felt okay and I have now had 7 sessions with another 8 to go.

I was really pleased to get a great deal for 6 x power plate sessions; something I'd always wanted to try but found them too expensive.
The facilities at the Soma in the Royal Garden Hotel might lack atmosphere, but the facilities are good and Raegan is a very helpful instructor.
Definitely something I will now try to keep up!

I bought the flabelos deal after my trial session at Nirvana. The place is less than 10 mins walk from Earlsfield station so it's easy to get to. The place is nice and clean and there only seems to be one member of staff working there (I've been there 3 times now) but there weren't any customers apart from myself when I have been. The machines (there are 2) are at the back and I was shown how to use it. When you go to the back you are shown into a sort of cubicle and there is some netting to cover the entrance so people can't really see you use the machine. I didn't really know what to expect but the lady working there showed me how to use it and she was really friendly and nice. It was such a weird sensation. I'm not sure whether it is helping me lose weight but I enjoy going there are the place is clean and I always feel good afterwards.

Facilities pretty horrible, totally worn out, peeling paint, cheap materials and fixtures. Trainer (a guy) was ok. When the owner or manager tried to push me into buying a package deal and I didn't want to she became pretty rude. They basically charge what a much nicer, better run place would charge.

I can't recomend Bankside Power Plate classes highly enough. They are always challenging and fun and the trainers all have their own style which means it's never the same twice which is fantastic for motivation and ensuring you get an all round work-out. The trainers are all very friendly and take each person's abilities and goals into consideration. I will always go back for their power plate classes.

Went not knowing what to expect but the experience was amazing. I was assisted by Vicky who took me through all the exercises on the power plate and suggested doing interval training inbetween I did just 7 minutes (twice) intervals on the treadmill. Having been there for just over 40 minutes, I felt I had done a really good workout, my legs are now complaining!! Can't wait to go again though I would definitely recommend, and whilst working out you can look out on the River.

I aboslutely love powerplate - if it's possible to love being battered into shape. It's an intensive workout but it is so rewarding. I have seen increase in my body tone and stamina in a short space of time. Bankside is a lovely venue, the staff are professional and friendly and the facilities are really good. Powerplate classes are only 30 minutes so although you work really hard there is light at the end of the tunnel.
This has become my favourite form of exercise and the more vouchers that come up the better as it is quite expensive otherwise.
Nonetheless I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a good work out especially if you have little time to spare.

The bankside healthclub is a top notch health club with excellent facilities. The gym was well spaced out, well air conditioned and it was never too busy. Power plates was an excellent class; it is very good for people who have little time and want maximum results. It is a tough 30 minutes and you definitely do come away from it feeling like you have worked out quite hard.

Great venue, where they show you how to get the best out of using the power plate equipment. Each class is slightly varied and the instructors make sure you're doing everything correctly, whilst motivating you to try as hard as you can in this short burst of exercise. Great for people who haven't got time to spend hours in the gym. Very clean location too with free sauna and steam.

Very good gym with good facilities. I have been to three different sessions at varying times e.g. evenings after work, Saturday morning, and each class just seems to get better. The instructors are nice, friendly and encouraging. The types of exercise you do on the Power Plate vary which keeps it interesting. The classes are small with maximum of 5 participants which is nice.

The on-line class booking system is also very handy especially when you find you have an extra 30minutes to spare, booking a class last minute is so easy. There are also loads of class times to choose from and you can see who the instructor is and how many people have booked the class already.

The gym itself never seems to busy or crowded which is nice and there seems to be quite a lot of good machines but I haven't used them so I can't say too much. Plus I have attended at what I would consider off peak times of the day.

The ladies changing room are very spacious, clean and welcoming. Definitely planning to use the Sauna and steam room located in the fitting room on my next visit. It also has GHD straighteners, hair dryers and TV to watch as you get ready.

All in all a good gym that I am seriously considering switching to once I have more info on their joining fees.

Lovely place, great staff, I needed all the motivation that god could have given me to make a regular effort in exercise. Thanks to the good advice and constant motivation of (Mel - my trainer) that I keep going. I also participate in the fusion group fitness classes that are great fun and physically demanding. I am doing 3 sessions of per week but planning to increase it to 4 sessions. My husband has also joined last week and enjoying too. Thank you to all the staff at the studio.

Wow, where to start? This place is so nice I could spend my days there all day every day if I didn't have to go to work haha. The place is so relaxing and friendly even while waiting you have fun, we were offered a hot drink almost as soon as we walked through the door, we were very early as we were not sure of the exact location we had left home too early. But, we never felt a nuissance at any point it was almost as though we had been invited to a friends for a coffee. As we were both having various treatments (a real girly day) it meant we had the chance for a lovely chat with the ladies and even decided to have extra treatments as we loved the place so much. I live about 3 miles from the salon but I will gladly travel here on a regular basis as it is such a nice place and the treatments are of such high standards at excellent prices, we even had individual lashes for just £7.00! What more could I ask for? Please open one on my road! haha. See you soon Gem and co.

I have visited this salon a few times and have always received the very best of service. Whether they are quiet or rushed off their feet, nothing ever seems too much trouble they seem to make time to be frindly and welcoming with evey customer. I most recently had my eyebrows waxed and some individual lashes by shemara (sorry if I've spelt it wrong) which were both excellent and really made me feel glam and ready to party.

I have also used the wobble plates during a class and on my own and find the classes are well worth booking in for as the staff are real experts in making me work the specific areas most of us women need ie bum and tum in my case.

I treated myself to a brilliant offer they had in store before xmas for a back massage and facial and I saw paige for these treatments. I must say I was very tense before the treatment and by the end I was so relaxed I could have fell asleep.

Whichever of the staff I have seen, they all seem to have the customers interests at heart and they all seem to really enjoy their job which makes each visit to gems a pleasure. Keep it up ladies!

Nails & beauty treatments one of the best i ever had in any salon. don't want to forget Zumba wow instructers are just amazing and perfect in their knowledge.
I joined ToneUp Lounge in September 2011. I will admit that at first I was sceptical that machines that move for you would produce noticeable results.
Wow - was I ever wrong! After just my first assessment, the results have been absolutely amazing. I am so grateful to you all for bringing such a great concept to our side of town.

I first visited this salon for a massage and facial with two of my friends. The staff were highly accomodating to the fact that we really wanted to book in together and went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable whilst waiting for each other to have our treatments. They offered us a drink upon arrival and offered more later even, happily, allowing us to get lunch and eat it there (not at all like some stuffy salons I have visited in the past where you are self concious the whole time) and as we enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to indulge in some other treatments whilst there.

They kept us relaxed and well cared for, during the duration of our visit, so we had so much fun, we didn't want to go back to the hustle and bustle of our real lives.

All of the products used are of a very high standard. This salon is staffed by really genuine, down to earth people, they are highly knowledgable and proffesional, while maintaining a freindly, fun and relaxed, enviroment.

I really hope that this establishment gets the credit it deserves and many, many, more people are lucky enough to enjoy a trip to this hidden gem!

It was excellent and I am very pleased that I tried it and will do some more in the future. I could spot immediately how the machines worked - as I explained to the staff member, they work with waves - a bit like a microwave oven enhancing the stretch poses.

The gym is lovely and clean and the changing rooms are equipped with large mirrors, plenty of lockers and hairstyling tools.

The power plate studio is situated in a corner at the back of the gym and not really cordoned off in any way, which is a shame.

The trainers were lovely and the workouts themselves were the most challenging I've experienced on a power plate.

Overall, I'd recommend Bankside to anyone.

I am currently thoroughly enjoying the power plate training. The instructor, Drew, seems to know exactly how much of each exercise to put me through. The 30 minutes whizzes by unfortunately, but I come out of there completely exhilarated, and looking forward to the next time.

Gem's is a small, welcoming and relaxed salon offering excellent value for money power plate fitness, beauty treatments and tanning. We've been visiting Gem's for a few months now, using the power plates 2-3 times per week and I've have also had waxing done. We had used another salon before finding Gems but the big plus for us is that at Gem's, after a few visits you can choose between instructed power plate classes or you can go in and 'do your own thing' if you prefer. There are lots of machines so it is never a problem getting booked in at a time to suit. The girls in the salon are always friendly and welcoming and are happy to offer advice and guidance on the treatments available. A great little salon - a gem of a find!

I visited this salon on a fantastic deal for just £10 for a massage, a facial and a go on the vibration machines. I must say I was really saddened to read the previous review as it either must have been for another salon or the person must have ridiculous expectations, as I found the staff the best I have ever come accross as I visit salons regularly, I was very impressed.

I walked in very stressed and weary, but, thanks to these wonderful girls, who really seemed to care, I left feeling completly relaxed and rejeuvenated. The excercise class, was with some of the local customers, who were lovely and seemed to get on very well with gemma and the other girls. It was great fun and really felt like I worked which I didn't expect.

I then had a back massage, which was done by a young girl and again I was pleasently surprised how good she was seeming to have technique well beyond her years. My facial was done by Gemma it was wonderfully relaxing and she was really good at listening to me and made me feel so relaxed we could have been friends for years.

The decorating was fresh and welcoming and the salon was very clean. All in all you can tell these people love there job and will be a real gem (haha) in the beauty salon world.

A small, friendly gym with the latest equipment and excellent fitness instructors. If you're short on time and need to make the most out of your time at the gym then this is the place to go. No more aimlessly wandering around wondering which piece of equipment to try next while no-one worries about you. Here, they happily advise you on what to do, at what level and for how long etc. and keep an eye on you to ensure you are doing things correctly and get the most out of your visit. I signed up for four power plate sessions. First a warm up on the cross trainer, then the power plates. Small groups of up to four people so you get personal instruction to ensure you're doing it correctly and they work you at your individual fitness level. After my first session I asked what the TRX was and the instructor willingly gave me a short session on that. The friendly instructors definitely ensure you get the most out of your gym visit, so if you're looking for a gym and are not worried about a swimming pool, steam room & sauna etc. then I would absolutely reccommend Your GYM.

I really love power plates. They are great way to tone up and improve muscle strength, you can see the results after just a couple of weeks. Signed you for 5 powerplate sessions each lasting a mere 30 minutes. However, the first session was the hardest and longest 30 minutes I've ever experienced working out but one of the most enjoyable forms of exercise I've done.
I ached before I even left the venue and my legs were still vibrating 30 mins later. I ached for days later but thankfully the 2nd session was not as painful. I'm now on session 3 and thoroughly enjoying it. The classes are only 3 or 4 people so almost as good as having a personal trainer. Both the trainers I've had have been really thorough and encouraging. I have a session tonight and I'm really looking forward to it. I definitely feel this is an ldeal form of excersie if you have little time to spare and want to see quick results.
My only critisism would be the lockers are not coin operated and appears only members have padlocks so perhaps loans of padlocks for non-members from reception would be an idea.
However, I will most definitely be booking more sessions once I complete these.

A very good purchase and I gladly recommend!

The staff were very friendly and chatty. the salon is in a very rough area and I was a little afraid to leave my car whilst having the treatment. The power plate exercises could have been more challenging. When in the treatment room thee was a lot of noise from the rest of the premisises ie loud music and general chat, a relaxing cd would have been nice to drown this out.

Amazing value for money. Powerplate sessions are normally 20 mins but this was 30 mins of ab-crunching, thigh trembling, bun-busting, hard work. The trainer was brilliant, extremely upbeat and encouraging.

I'm afraid I have nothing good to say about this deal. The guy I dealt with, Stefan was probably the rudest most ignorant man I have ever met. It was not a pleasure to be trained by him and I cannot recommend this deal/place to anyone. Give it a wide berth.

My trainer on the power plate was excellent. It was a strong, dynamic class we taught me lots of new moves I can do on the plate. Having done classes all over London, she was definitely one of the best teachers I have had.
I felt bogged down by the amount of forms I had to fill in to do one 25 minute class. I wasn't told I need to bring a padlock to use a locker so had to carry all my clothes and bags around the gym with me.

My friend and I went for three power plate sessions at this gym and it was fun! The staff were very friendly & welcoming (but still put us through our paces & didn't allow any slacking!), the only donwnside was that the gym is tucked away and if you don't work in the area/don't know it, it can be a bit tricky to find. Other than that - great!!!

Hi,
This is a small, friendly salon in Wandsworth. The staff are always cheerful and welcoming. I booked the trial session first and enjoyed it so booked a full course. Unfortunately due to work commitments I didn't keep up the 3 sessions a week I planned but I did catch up with a few double ones. I prefer not to weigh myself but I'm happy to say my jeans did feel looser and I felt more toned when I finished the course. I'm positive that if I had been able to manage 3 sessions a week the weight loss would have been greater. I recommend this if you're a busy person or if like me you don't like going to the gym as it only takes 10 mins to fit in a session. I only wish the salon was closer to where I live.

I was greeted at the door by Jane, the trainer and she led me downstairs to the basement studio through what looked like an office building. Once inside the studio itself, the facilities were really good and Jane herself was lovely.

I'm never completely sure that you get as good a workout from a 20 minute power plate session as you do from a hour / hour and a half fitness class and it does seem quite expensive for a drop-in session (£20), however, I felt really good afterwards and would definitely go again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my power plate session. The trainer was very friendly and professional and he clearly demonstrated and closely monitored the various exercises to be performed on the power plate. The set of exercises together constituted an intense and comprehensive work-out - and a very effective one at that, judging by how soar my muscles were two days after..

Power plates are amazing....the best kind of workout for people like me don't have much time to hit the gym and need to tone up. my first sessions was back in March and i really enjoyed it. next session was all ready booked and then disaster struck and i sprained my ankle (not fault of my own, well not really...lol) i was out of action for 3 and a half months and the guys at Your Gym were so great and held my deal for me. they also gave me advise on stretches i could do to help my recovery...i wish i could have completed it continuously but i would definitely recommend them and their power plate program

If you want results in a relatively short space of time, haven't got time for long work out sessions then power plate is perfect. The staff are excellent (I don't think I've done the same work out twice), and really know their stuff. It is the first time in a very long time that i've looked forward to working out.

The staff were very friendly offering me tea or coffee has soon as I arrived. I was 40 minutes early for my appointment but I did not have too wait. I was taken in to their beauty room straight away and was given a pleasurable massage and facials. After dressing I then spent 20 minutes on the power plates. My one complaint would be the area Wobble Away is situated outside in the Fold there are a lot of lose paving stones and I did trip up. Plus the area is a little out of the way and if you don't now the area well you might find it different to find.

They are very well organised, when I emailed to book my sessions, the response I received was prompt and they directed me to the website to book my session. The instructions given was clean and I booked my session easily.

On the day of my session, the receptionist was friendly and offered me a drink while I waited. The gym instructor was knowledgeable and friendly and I had a great time. I went for 2 classes and enjoyed both very much. The only downside is it is rather far from where I live. If it is nearer, I would sign up for long term. £12 for 3 session offer from wahanda is great as it allows me to try out power plate session and witness firsthand its effectiveness. Much better than normal gym sessions.

Really great session - it was just my friend and I so felt like a Personal Training session. The class only lasts 15-20 mins, but we ahced for days after !
The Trainer personalised our exercises to fit what we wanted to achieve, explained the moves well and kept us motivated throughout (although short, it is surprisingly tiring !)
There were no changing room facilities as such so had to change behind the lockers in the main room, but apart from that the room was bright and well ventilated despite being in the basement.

When i arriived i was not asked to complete a form detailing my skin type, products i use, allergies or my medical history The therapist room is in a back room of the gym There was not dark or quiet and you could hear the music from the gym

The therapist did not introduce herself nor did she state what was going to happen and had to ask what was going on I found that when she did finish my facial my skin was left quite wet and i had to use a cloth to dampen down the wetness after

The massage was very nice and relaxing but she did not ask me what type of massage i like or if i was allergic to any of the oils they use

The other girl in Reception put me on the wobble away machine but did not ask me about my medical history It was only during the experience that i read of who could benefit from the machine and who shouldnt After it finished the girl said that she did not want to show me the weights while i was doing it because i would of been on my own but it would of been nice to have that choice

Afterwards there was a big sell sell job

Would i go back again Definatly not

I wasn't really shown how to use the FLABeLOS machine - basically I went into this little salon and was shown to the FLABeLOS machine behind a curtain, and was told to just stay there for 10 minutes and try it however I wanted. So I did exactly did. Thankfully, there was a poster showing various positions to use on the machine and I tried following the images.

It wasn't the most interesting experience but I guess I did get what was meant to be a trial.

First time using the power plate so didn't know what to expect but although it was a strange sensation it wasn't unpleasant. I bought a mob deal for a course of vibration training sessions. These are 10 minute sessions that you do on your own to a set programme rather than classes, but the staff help you and advise you what to do. The sessions are shorter because the Flabelos plate is supposed to be more intense than regular vibration plates.

I have been for four out of the sixteen sessions so far. I can feel it working when I'm on the plate and have noticed a small improvement in my lower abs, even though so far I have just done the easier programme and will be stepping it up fom the next sesssion! I certainly think that I will see a marked improvement by the end of the course, though perhaps not as much as from the same number of longer powerplate classes. However, it is so quick and easy and very good value for money, so I'm certainly not complaining!

The salon itself is nothing fancy, but very clean, tidy and well organised. The best thing about this place is the lovely lady who runs the salon. She is really friendly and helpful, which would encourage me to go there for other treatments even though it's not that local to me.

Overall, I would recommend both the treatment and the salon.

The location of this was awful. It is really out of the way and not in a nice location at all. This really put me off and I was tempted to cancel because I had brought my mom a voucher for Mothers Day. We have been to some surperb places, but this was definitely not the best place - decor wise. It wasn't very clean at all and needed a good vaccum/dust. However to compensate for the actual place, the two members of staff, Jodie and the other young beautician, really made up for it. They were both very professional and made us feel very welcome. The massage was one of the best I've had and I would definitely go back. However, I really do think it would benefit from a good clean. This REALLY REALLY put me off.

The Power Plate session was much harder than I thought. It was like a normal aerobics class but amplified by 10. The 20 minute session was a full body workout. Fitness for Everyone is a small gym, but with 5 Power Plates lined up, it was very convincing that this is their selling point. Of course then they seem to know what they are doing and selling, and with the personable atmosphere, I have lots of confidence in them. My mother and I purchased 8 powerplate sessions from Groupon. We had a lot of fun in the lessons which were 20 minutes each - doesn't sound long, until you do it! The staff were great and varied each session so it was not repetitive. We were also given trials of the circuit, which is very similar to the Curves workout but more intense. I convinced a friend to come along for a free power plate and pilates trial. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and were made to fill welcome. The instructor was very thorough and explained each exercise. I found the plates very challenging as I could not stabilise myself and kept shaking but my friend was much better. I loved the TRX equipment briefly used in the 30 min session and would consider plates in the future. We then begun the pilates class on the reformer. It was only me and my friend at the time so got alot of attention. I really like the fact that both their session allow a max of 4 people. Quite often I have been to places where you are left to figure out the exercises out yourself but here, the time was taken to correct our positions and pushed us further. My friend and I will definitely be purchasing the four classes for £20 in the very in future but find the overall prices for pilates classes a little too expensive to continue at this lovely studio.

I've been going here for power plate sessions for about 2 months now after saving up all my Wahanda gift vouchers. I'd tried power plate before but needed to get myself in a routine instead of doing sessions every now and then, so booked in once a week with a colleague.

Each instructor I've had has been so professional and friendly, making sure I have a good session every week and feel like it's been worth it. Jane definitely worked me the hardest, but she was so great I actually had fun working out! (Which I really don't do often enough). There's working out bored and uninspired, and there's sessions like these which actually make you feel motivated.

The sessions are really working for me so I'll continue to go here and maybe step up to 2 sessions a week, or even a 40 min CardioVibe session if I'm brave enough!

I spoke to Jodie Howling from Bankside on the telephone on the Thursday, and booked my two sessions, one for the Saturday morning and the other for the following Friday evening. She was very friendly and gave me good directions from London Bridge. The place is a little tucked away but I asked a security guard who pointed me in the right direction.

I arrived Saturday morning, had to fill in a small form and was then given a towel and shown to the powerplate area. The fitness trainer was definitely worth his salt and worked us all (there were four of us) very hard. I felt fabulous when it was over!

The gym is very clean, light and well set out. I would recommend it to anyone and would certainly go again myself.

My husband and I visited the gym on Saturday-spending the day in London and enjoying this and another Wahanda offer!! I cannot praise Jane enough, she is a true professional, made us feel very welcome and offered us the appropriate advice on using the plates-which were fantastic-I want one!!! My husband and I are at different levels of fitness(!) but she tempered the instructions accordingly. The plates obviously work...my muscles can testify to that!!! I am now trying to find a class closer to where we live. Many thanks for making us welcome, and putting us at ease in a new environment.

Great customer service from beginning to end-online system making it very easy to book class suited to your schedule. Good, fun class-slightly out of the way (depending where you live!) but overall worthwhile, especially at the incredible deal price. Looking forward to my next session!

The trainer at Movers and Shapers was very professional and knew his stuff. A registration form/questionnaire made sure he was able to tailor the workout for me. I was surprised by how hard the workout was, but it was all carefully explained to me, what to do and how and why. Because the sessions are quite short this kind of workout would suit someone very busy with not much time to give to their physical wellbeing.

Nirvana Health and Beauty is convenientally situated, just off AllfarthIng Lane (which has free parking after 11am!).

The salon is clearly newly refurbished to a high standard. Very clean, modern and attractive.

The staff I met were polite and informative, very down to earth yet professional.

The 'FLABeLOS' treatment was really quite crazy, in a nice way! Essentially, you are stood on a machine, in a private room. The machine goes through phases of shaking you. Your wobbly bits really do get a work out, it's very amusing!

Afterwards, I felt like I'd certainly got my blood pumping, revitalised I suppose. I've taken about 3-4 sessions so far and can't honestly say if it's helped me tone or loose inches/weight. Perhaps doing it often would provide more obvious results.

I would return to Nirvana without a shadow of a doubt. I did actually have a Shellac extended-wear manicure cure at the salon on one visit, which was very good.

I really enjoyed the interactiveness of the class, its been on of the best classes ive been to but I do feel that the cost is absolutely extortionate across the board - £99 per month for an off peak membership is so much money!
The studio was very small, only around 5/6 plates were there but this did create a nice clozy environment.

Bankside Health Club is the ideal place to work out after work, as it never feels crowded and yet still has plenty of members. The Power Plate classes are especially good, with the instructors ensuring that you get a proper workout throughout the lesson and that you are stretched to your limits.

I would thoroughly recommend the health club for facilities, ambience and for the great equipment on offer there.

It's quite a small studio and I was lucky to only have one other person in the class. I consider myself fairly fit and I was sweating up a storm! It feels a bit odd at first the vibrations but I can completely understand the concept. The staff were incredibly friendly and paid extremely close attention to the alignment of the body, which I rate very highly. I would love to go back but it is a bit on the pricey side for me. If my budget grows, I'll definitely return.

This is a great little centre in the heart of Richmond. I got one-on-one attention for my appointment, and shared the trainer with another woman on another occasion. Loki and Dawn were the two trainers I had. The power plates moves are tough, and to mix it up I was taken through some other strength/toning exercises on other equipment in the gym - things that I haven't done before and would not have tried without a trainer. Also, with power plates you get to sit/lie on the machine which stimulates cellulite/relaxes the muscles, so it's not just for working out. I am definitely pleased I bought the offer and would recommend the centre to anyone looking to get toned/increase endurance.

Great team! Don't make you feel uncomfortable if, like me, you're a newcomer to exercise. Can go at your own pace.

Power plate - was a lot harder than I thought it would be!! (Not simply stand there and the inches vibrate away - unfortunately!)

Pilates - excellent tutor (Alan), explains what everything is doing for you and doesn't push you too hard.

Would highly recommend.

I purchased my voucher 3 lessons for £10. And so far I have been twice this week. The atmosphere is very friendly, each time I have had my own instructor. The instructors personalise the lessons to your needs, I have arthritis in one of my wrists but as alot of the exercises are static I can do most of them, instead of pressups I use the pulley on the celing (it really works!). Using the box with the wave machine takes some getting used to, doing the situps on this is a very strange, but you feel it a couple of days later!
I have recommened this to all my friends.

I tried the power plate. The power plate session was intense and really worked me out. The trainer Jemma is great. She focuses on each person and tailors the workout. Unlike many classes where they just show you how to do the excersice, here they lead you through it, correct you and personalise it as well to suit your needs and level. In general great, only gripe is the lack of a shower room....

I went with a friend after getting the voucher from Wahanda and I must admit it was a bit difficult to find as it is in a small street and in a non very central location.
When we eventually found the place we were friendly greeted by the personal trainer and then shown the changing room and the facilities. The lesson lasted aproximately 25 minutes and the work out was excellent.
We really worked up a sweat I must say.I would go back again and I raccomend it to anyone wanting quick results in terms of toning and weight loss.

I went to three sessions which I had with Wahanda voucher. Have enjoyed the experience and was considering paying for the course but do think that too expensive for what it is. If the session were individual would buy it( even though they are only for up to 5 and there were never more that 4 of us I felt that we were still a group of people of varying abilities). Since you have to be very fast changing your positions as you are trying to work the whole body in 30 mins I could not keep up few times and felt rushed. Also, one of the trainers I found much better than the other, but never knew which one will be there on any given day. Do think that Powerplate does engage muscles more and gives quick results, as they claim, so would recomend in that sense.

You can really feel the flabelos machines working. The programme takes you through a range of vibration speeds (the fastest one makes places you didn't know could wobble, wobble!), you just stand there and get toned for no effort! It takes 10 minutes and they recommend 3-4 sessions per week. My stomach was definitely less wobbly by the end of my 16 sessions.

The decor is nice and I would recommend the salon highly. The lady who runs this place is really lovely and helpful, and flexible on timing if the machines are free because I kept turning up slightly too early or late!

I found my session at yourbodyactive absolutly brilliant!! I attended both a power plate session and a pilates session and both times everything was explained to me as to what I was doing and why I was doing it.

The power plates, and the straps (I cant remember their name) was a really intense work out, much harder than what I was expecting, which was standing on the plate until I get more toned!

The pilates session was totally different than what i was expecting. I have always struggled with achillies injuries when running, but when I did my pilates session it was pointed out as to why I kept having this repeated issue. Along with the inhury prevention part of my session the rest of it was a really tough work out that I really enjoyed, I thorougly recommend yourbodyactive and will definitly be continuing on with my sessions

My only gripe would be the booking process as there was confusion when I tried to book it, some receptionists saying I needed to book a one to one trial, others saying I didn't need one if I'd done it before. The trainer was very knowledgable, and helpful. I had done power plates before, but she explained the reason for each exercise better than other people had.
The whole idea behind this service is that in addition to the Power Plates they do offer you nutritional advice, and this is reflected in the price of the courses, which is slightly more than the other branches.

If I worked nearer to site a may go back, but I am just looking for straight exercise, so also couldn't justify the additional cost...

The gym is conveniently located and the facilities are fine, and the Powerplate trainer was really positive. It was really crowded! I've seen chaos in the gyms of central London at peak time, but this was rather intense. Fortunately the staff were organised and all in all it was a pretty good experience.

Nevertheless, Powerplate is not for everybody, especially if you have any sort of back pain. Be sure to raise any issues you may have in advance of the session with the trainer.

The gym itself is modern and minimalist and the receptionist gave me a towel and a padlock for my locker which was an added bonus. The changing rooms were first rate with hairdryers, low lighting, products etc. Power plate itself was held in a corner of the gym, not in a seperate room so this was a bit offputting at first as everyone can see you. The session was 25 mins long and our trainer was friendly and helpful. I can't say I really enjoyed the experience, felt very strange and I didn't really work my muscles hard, but I'm glad I tried it and for 3 sessions for a tenner - it's a great bargain. I liked the idea of combining power plate with yoga as these are two of my favourite forms of exercise. The sessions are a bit pricey but with the offer on Wahanda it made it available. I found the staff very responsive - they contacted me almost immediately re booking me in with all the information I needed. It is a shame though that this class is only available one day a week. So took advantage of the free trial offered by Wahanda to check out this location. Quite convenient being right in the midst of Oxford Street, which is good. Although you do have the shoppers to content with, which perhaps is not so good.

It was really good to have a personalised powerplate session for a change (I normally do classes) - the instructor was brilliant and really tailored the session to suit me. I ached far more the next day than any of the powerplate classes I've tried. The downsides were the location - in a small room in fenwick's without any windows but the instructor's abilities made up for that. Not sure that I would fork out £45 for another session though; it was great to try a free session but it's expensive to go back.

Overall my experience was positive with trying out the power plate in fenwicks the trainer was lovely & after suffering with a viral infection I felt I had a hill to climb to get myself into the fitness zone. She was attentive & the room was very private. I came out feeling surprisingly strange after vibrating for over 30 mins as you can imagine, and felt like air.I would suggest not getting into your old routine after so you can reap the feel good benefits. The only problem being I don't think I'll be able to return because it requires quite a lump sum to continue with the training programme which I'm sure would be good value & work for the right person but it wouldn't sit with me quite at the moment. I would recommend tho.

I went for power plates and the deal was fabulous - £20 for 4 sessions! I was a bit sceptical on my first visit as it was really busy and there was one trainer juggling four clients, and instead of having everyone do the same exercises she was trying to give a personalised experience for each which meant some people were left doing nothing. But when it came to my turn I realised that somehow, amazingly, it works - the trainer was totally able to tailor each person's session to their personal needs. The staff are absolutely amazing, all four of them remembering my name whether or not they've trained me or not, really welcoming and absolutely not intimidating at all. I tried the Pilates and found it really difficult but it's one of those things that probably takes more than one session to get the hang of. I wish I could go back but the full prices are just too expensive for me right now.=!

I had a voucher for 3 Powerplate sessions to see if they'd be appropriate for me to do over a couple of months before my wedding next year. I was very very impressed. I've tried a couple of other companies around London that offer Powerplate and GoodVibes was by far the best.

I liked the relaxed feel of the place, the friendly and knowledgeable receptionist, the fantastic music (they had the Grease soundtrack playing on my first class!) and the very good instructors. I had 3 different instructors over the 3 sessions and all were excellent with their own different ways of teaching. I really noticed the difference in my body after just 3 sessions - everything felt a bit more toned, my belly was less wobbly and even my fiancé commented that I'm looking better for some reason (and he never says things like that).

I decided after the 3 sessions that 2 months before my wedding I'm going to do their Bikini Bootcamp which looks expensive but certainly looks the best way to drop a dress size in advance of the big day. I can't afford to do more than that - the downside to GoodVibes being amazing is that they're also quite expensive. There was a girl in my classes who had done the bikini bootcamp ahead of her wedding last year and she said she couldn't recommend it enough and afterwards was the skinniest she'd ever been and has since kept up the classes. I'm in.

I did the powerplate personal training session. It was really good and I would highly recommend. I am now checking my finances to see if it is feasible for me to buy a set of sessions with them.

Definitely seems worth the money and good value

I signed up for the '3 Powerplate Sessions for £20' deal, which was incredible value for money. The Studio has a nice atmosphere and all the staff are lovely. I was surprised at how effective the half an hour supervised workouts were, I could really feel my muscles ache for a couple of days after each work out! I will definitely be back for more...

Dispite the directions emailed, this "room" was very hard to locate meaning I was both late and stressed by the time I arrived. The personal trainer gave a full consultation before devising a session to target areas of concern. They were both knowledgable and encouraging, giving clear instructions and a very informative description of which muscle groups were being worked on and why. Although I am not taking this further at the moment, this is definately one to recommend.

I've signed up for a few classes now as I actually enjoy them! Nick is a really cool guy and an attentive trainer, he has a really good approach which doesn't overwhelm or intimidate if you're not particularly fit etc. The place is small but it has a nice atmosphere which I wouldn't get from a gym. I've started noticing the difference already. Highly recommended.

I've managed to make it to one of the three power plate sessions (bought three on a mob deal) and can't wait to get back for the rest ! The staff are lovely, professional, encouraging. The small class size makes you feel very pampered and is almost like have a one-on-one personal training session.

Emailed Movers and shapers and was called back within 30 min, extremely friendly and helpful staff both on the telephone and in person, we were talked though the process and taken well cared of, after the session the receptionist sat us down and went through various price plans without being too pushy. we didn’t have any more sessions but was wonderful customer service and would recommend this well run and friendly business.

The venue is small but this means you get personal training. There was a small room to change in but no lockers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and were constantly checking that we were managing the exercises ok (which were more strenuouse than I had expected). The Powerplates are not the easy option but a 30min session is supposed to give the same benefit as a 90mins workout and I did feel like I had had a workout. Best part...That would be the leg massage at the end of the session.

Give it a try

Really enjoyed my time at the movers and shapers, and if any deal came up again I would gladly take it. sadly, it was too expensive for me to justify the price, although if I had more money I would. Facilites were lovely, great workouts, and small classes. My only slight gripe was that on doing the boxercise, it took a while to 'wrap' me up, and then the wrap fell apart in the class, which made me miss out on the warm up so I then got cramp.

Otherwise, great fun!

I was a little apprehensive as I was unsure of my fitness levels and did not want to show myself up, especially as I was going on my own. As it turned out it was a quiet period and I had the trainer, Nick all to myself. In spite of my apprehensions, he was very supportive and encouraged me all the way and in no time at all my session ended. We worked on my problem areas and felt I'd had an effective session. I have since booked another 10 sessions and have noticed the difference already. The only downside is that the studio is small but it adds to the intimacy and the friendliness of the staff.

For half an hour, it was a good work-out but maybe if you are not used to exercising, it can be a bit difficult to do some moves. I am not sure if it would be good just to depend on the power plate for exercising though, maybe it would be best to also know some basic knowledge of pilates on the mat. It could be a good combination.

He gave me sufficient encouragement and guidance throughout even when other clients arrived and started their sessons. I can now do planks a lot more effectively (didn't realise I had my posture all wrong) and hope to outdo my boyfriend.

I thought I would use this deal to kick-start an exercise programme to improve my fitness levels but I was really surprised at how unfit I actually was when using the power plate.

Hanna, the trainer, was superb, very friendly and a real confidence builder so I managed much more than I thought I would at the start and she gave us very varied exercises so I really felt that I was getting the best experience of the plate and the session. The power plate does seem to be a great way to get a real workout in a short space of time and I certainly would recommend it.

The only downside was that the studio was smaller than I thought it was going to be and the lack of facilities meant I had to spend the rest of the day sweaty as I live some distance away from the studio and I had planned a whole day in London around the session.

Overall, though, I enjoyed the session. Well worth the money!

I purchased 3 classes for £15 from Wahanda. I wasn't very keen on the venue because its all open plan. I would have preferred my power plate class to take place in a separate room rather than share the space with so many other people execising. Its a bit hard to focus when you've got so many people watching you. On the whole it was ok, but it definately depends on which instructor you get.

It was hard to find the building and was strange that the gym was inside a warehouse. The actual gym was small inside with four plates. As we were all at different levels, I had to wait instructions for the next exercise but this was a matter of seconds. Being new to the plate I did feel slighty sick at the beginning especially when my head was shaking along with the plate. Overall it hurt- so it must have worked.

I had 3 classes at this studio and I didn't enjoy my experience. My first class was at 6pm, I arrived at 5.45pm to find the studio closed. The instructor didn't arrive until 6pm, so didn't have time to give me an induction. I was then rushed to complete the registration form & get changed as quickly a possible so that the next class could start on time. To top it off, on two occasions there was a small dog in the room for the duration of my class. Now I don't have anything against animals, but I would prefer not to have them around me when I'm exercising, especially when the venue is extremely small.

Although it is a bit difficult to find and doesn't look like much from the outside, this is a really nice, smart gym in a central location. It was very clean, well equiped and didn't seem overcrowded, although I did go outside of peak hours.

The prices for the powerplate courses were suprisingly reasonable and competitive, especially when you consider the fact that you get a personal trainer for less than many other venues charge for group sessions. I am definitely planning to sign up for a course.

The staff are great, so helpful at tailoring exercise to the individual, and also good at motivating you when your energy and willpower depletes!

I have been a member of the Battersea Powertone studios for the past 5 months, and I can't rave enough about it. The staff are so amazing.. so friendly, and helpful, plus they remember all the little details as they really get to know you. The staff are all fitness professionals, with varying specialty areas of sport, which makes for a more well rounded training. The classes are very personal, with exercises being adjusted to suit the individual needs of the clients. The trainers constantly push themselves outside the studio trying new sports to get new and improved ideas for classes within the studio. And it is never boring, one day you might do boxing on the plate, the next more of a ballet style powerplates workout. The studio is always neat and tidy.. and there is a lovely bunch of regulars who make going to the classes so much fun. And of course, let's not forget the results, it really is the way to tone up and get rid of cellulite, and all within a quick 25 minute workout ! I am happy, healthy and skinnier than I have been in years. It is well worth the money.

I was pleasantly surprised that there were only 4 power plates available. Although this means you have to be organised and book the sessions in advance or face disappointment it really does mean you almost get the feeling of a personal trainer as they have time to see and speak to everyone in the class.

The results of the power plate itself i was amazed! I was a little dubious at first to how well it would work but for someone like myself who does a lot of exercise i was definitely feeling the effects the next day. Its great way to feel toned before that big night.

Overall great experience and would recommend all i have to do now is keep finding those great offers!

Disappointed by inflexibility! Healthy Vibes is a very good PowerPlate gym with nice and professional instructors, and you do get the results they promise you. However, as a (now past!) reliable client, I’ve been recently disappointed with the service offered by administration/manager staff. In the run up to my August 2010 wedding I booked the ‘Quick Fix’ package of 9 classes totalling £90. Appreciating the fact that you have to use the classes quickly as Healthy Vibes have a ‘use-by’ rule, I did 3 classes a week over the period of 3 weeks. Pleased with results, I then booked another ‘Quick Fix’ package once the first had come to an end, thus far spending £180. I was then encouraged to purchase another ‘Quick Fix’ package in order to squeeze in some more classes before my wedding, which I did at another cost of £90, thus making my total spend with Healthy Vibes £270. Of my last ‘Quick Fix’ package I have owed to me 3 classes. I called them today to inform them that I am going on my honeymoon and returning on the 16th August (2 days after my classes ‘expire’) and could they kindly extend the expiry on my 3 remaining classes, even for a few days. They were adamant that they could not do this for me and the best they could offer was an extended expiry on these existing classes if I purchased 4 more. I explained that this was not exactly a suitable solution for me at this present moment in time because I had a short window of time on my return before attending my friend’s wedding in Ireland, taking me away again for a week. With their strict ‘use-by’ rule, I explained that purchasing more classes at this time would leave me in the same position as before; I would not be able to use them all in time. I suggested my friend, who has been using Healthy Vibes gym for a while herself, take my classes but this was also refused. The lady I spoke to said there was nothing she could do, this was their rule as flexibility in the past meant they lost out and it wouldn’t be “good business sense” to let me have an extension... I don’t know about you but I don’t think it has been ‘good business sense’ to have lost a customer through inflexibility. I start my teaching job again in September and with routine back in my working week, I was going to purchase more classes but now this will not be happening.

This was the first time i had ever been on a power plate and myself and three friends booked a set of 3 classes. The Classes were nice and small one trainer to 4 clients. This made the class more personal as the instructor was able to give us all one to one time which was great for first timers! The instructor was friendly, professional and very helpful. The class was held in a small room in a building with offices which we found a little odd and did get lost trying to find the right room but once we found where to go it was fine. There was a small reception area. Changing rooms and then the area behind where the powerplates were. I found the classes to be really good and you feel like you have had such a work out after only 25 minutes. I would recomend it and want ot do it again myself.

I bought the MobDeal for three sessions of power plates for £10, which I thought was a great deal as power plates are notoriously expensive. I hadn't heard of the venue before but it was pretty easy to find and is right on my way home so perfect location for me and my friend.

Booking in was easy, a quick email and we were in for the next night at half seven. We got there in plenty of time to get changed and so saw the class before us while we waited and got a good idea of what we were letting ourselves in for. Everyone seemed to know each other and get on well with plenty of chatter going on in the small room.

The venue is literally a room in the basement of this non-descript building, with four power plates in it and a few other bits of equipment. Sectioned off is a small changing area with lockers - a bit basic with not even a ladies or gents to be seen but for such a small venue it's all you really need. Jane also admitted to being obsessive about cleanliness which is always good to know! Jane was running the classes and she brings the place to life - chatty, bubbly and friendly she put us at ease right away, had us fill out a quick medical form and then we were ready to go with just the three of us in the class.

The classes are only 20 minutes long and so I wasn't expecting it to be too hard, having done power plates before. The best thing about this session was something I have never had elsewhere - Jane asked us what we wanted to work on. Most places just make presumptions and continue to do the usual squats and crunches but Jane asked us what parts of the body we wanted to work and we all said legs bums and tums.

It may have only been twenty minutes but it was hard work! The killer exercise was the use of straps to pull backwards, something sure to eradicate bingo wings, and another odd one where you tie the strap around your legs and then resist against it while on the plate. I liked that Jane had other equipment to use on the plate - it made it different and I found the stomach crunches much comfier (but also tougher!) using her discs (not sure what they're actually called).

I measure classes by how much I smile during it and how I feel the next day. Jane was so encouraging and friendly that the class was enjoyable and two days later my muscles were still aching. Can't wait to go back next week!

I went along to Good Vibes for two Power Plate sessions after getting the MobDeal - 2 classes for £10. This was my second time at Good Vibes and I had high hopes as I'd liked it the first time I tried it out.

I do like the atmosphere at Good Vibes - it's clean and a bit quirky - nothing had changed from the year before. It's a very small place with only one class ever going on at a time which is a good thing considering the lack of changing rooms, but it can be tricky to book in at the last minute - we booked ours in a week in advance, with evening slots being busy.

The classes were good - particularly the first week I went as I felt we really worked hard (given that I was very unfit!) and I felt like I had a whole body workout, with work on the abs and arms as well as the legs. The instructor was cheery but perhaps not as motivational as the guy I had had before. The second week I went, we had a different instructor who focussed a lot more on quicker, less intense exercises particularly on the legs, so I came away feeling like I hadn't worked hard enough. That said, I am someone who needs a fair bit of pushing else I will take the easy route out!

The instructors do keep the movements quite varied so you won't get bored that's for sure - and I did feel like my muscles had been worked out. I did want to carry on with classes but the price tag on power plates still put me off - I think I'd be better getting a gym membership at a venue who offer power plates as part of it so that I can take the techniques I used and do it myself. In my classes though, the other 3 people taking part were all regulars and I could tell by their toned figures - a good advert in itself!

Good Vibes is really a place with a good vibe. I visited the one in Fitzrovia. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the decoration and style is really funky. For those who dont have time to spend in the gym or are not keen going to the gym like myself, power plate is a fast way to exercise and feel fit. Instructors were good and the level of exercises varied. Three sessions per week are recommended and they offer different packages. I want to try the bikini body one as i have a beach holiday coming up, but they have different packages which concentrate on different areas of the body. Definitely recommend it as a power plate studio if the location suits you.

There's this guy there who makes sure you get a great work out that will leave you in pain for days to come... I still love it!
The location is perfect, I keep on going there on my lunch breaks. If you go late morning/late afternoon then you are guaranteed a good work out as chances of one-to-one training are big!

I went twice to Good Vibes, both times with a friend. The venue is quite small but perfectly formed, and very clean, and teh equipment all looked pretty new. The Powerplates trainers were excellent and very friendly, and showed us some really good moves so I got a great workout. The only slight negative was that there aren't enough places to get changed, so we had to queue, but it was a very minor complaint.

I love love love Good Vibes and power plate training however it is impossible to keep up cost-wise. There's not enough deals to incentivize customers to return - only for new customers to join, which isn't very cool. Guess they aren't really concerned with retention rates.

First time on the powerplates for me and It was a very interesting experience, a strange feeling but the powerplates make your muscles work hard and you can feel it! along with the strange feeling all over - but at the end of just 20mins, i felt like i had had a full body workout and the trainer was fantastic.

I'm really pleased to have taken advantage of this offer (£10 for 3 sessions but I have now signed up for more sessions and plan to go regularly).
I really love Power Plates, it's amazing how effective is - you feel like having exercised for hours in only 25 minutes! Great for time-strapped, lazy people like me. I also loved the fact that sessions are restricted to 5 people max so you feel like you've been look after and get the personal attention that you can't get when exercising on your own or as part of a larger group.
I've also find the trainer professioal and very good at motivating, and able to make classes fun.

The most pleasurable Power Plate and YogaVibe Sessions I had so far!

It is incredible how effective is the Power Plate workout - I can see the difference from the first class!

The staff is brilliant - professional and friendly.

Combination of yoga and Power Plate is unique indeed - will deeply stretch and strengthen your muscles within the first session. I just love it!

You will definately see results after few session, try to do your workout every second day. I love the fact that I can see results in such short time with such little effort. Just do not stop exercise.

The session could be better if the trainer put more attention on my technique - was a bit dissapointing for the first class. However, the second class was brilliant as the trainer changed. New girl was really involved and attentive (lovely lady with dark hair).

Will definately go back if there will be any special deals otherwise it is rather expensive joy (but you will see the results for sure).

Steph and Nick are two of the nicest trainers you will ever find! The studio is small, but perfectly laid out with big windows to let light and fresh air in. A maximum of five people training at a time ensures lots of attention from the trainers, with great focus on form. After going three times a week for three weeks, I am already seeing definition and muscles in places there were only wobbles and 'curves' before. Highly recommended!

Went to Good Vibes for a free trial class with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Although you can feel the burn the whole time, it was actually quite fun. The trainer put us through a big variation of moves that kept us interested and targeted a different part of the body each time so you never felt like you very overdoing it. Also, she gave us alternatives for what we could do if it got too hard so there was no frustration of not being able to do the moves or keep up. It's a great location in a side street of Covent garden and we went on a Saturday morning and it was a full class but still only about 7 people which was great. The trainer was so friendly and we both would definitely go back if we could justify cost of classes. We have tried about 5 power plate sessions over the past three weeks to get a real feel for it and I have to say this is the best class we tried. I have signed up to the newsletter to keep my ear out on special offers and would recommend people go try the free class.

A friend and I went to test out powerplate at Bankside, and firstly - it's a great venue and location. Very professional, clean, high class gym that we both loved the look and feel of. We were running late for our trial due to taking a wrong turn, but they very kindly let us do the trial anyway.

The session was intense. The instructor, Jody, was really friendly and motivating and got us through the class. The exercises were quite varied but seemed to focus mainly on legs (although this was probably because we were running late so couldn't do a full work out). We felt 'the burn' almost immediately and within every movement she took us through. My favourite part of the session was undoubtedly the relaxing calf massage on the machine at the end! We both left feeling glad we showed up late as we couldn't imagine getting through the full half hour trial! Felt a little sore the next day but overall a great work out and we're going to try again!

I first went to Powertone Mayfair using the free trial offered by Wahanda in September 2009 & then I went again today using the 2 for 1 voucher.
Both times I have felt very welcomed by the staff. There are only four powerplate machines in the class (plus another in a separate room, I think, for private sessions), which means everyone can be watched & guided to ensure the exercises are done correctly -- for maximum benefit.
Obviously if there are less than 3 other people turning up for the class, even more personal attention, so better for you!
For those that have not tried powerplates before, the class consists of lots of toning exercises (eg. squats, leg lifts, stomach crunches & arms) while standing / balancing on the powerplate machine which is vibrating.
I think it is good for all levels of fitness because the instructors show you easy & difficult versions of some of the positions & I found that every time I thought I could not continue any longer with a position it was time to change to the next one.
I love that each class is only 25mins long. This means that you really don't need a shower after & don't need to pack a lot of extra bulky things. I was not planning to go today, but just realised that I was close by & was wearing tights & a vest under my dress, so I dropped in & there was a spot available in a class for 1 hr later. You don't wear shoes for the class, so you can be always ready to go.
At the end of the class we lay down with our legs on the machine for a final massage & I must admit, this part really sealed the deal. It feels like the cellulite is melting away!
I have tried 2 classes at Good Vibes Covent Garden in comparison & I prefer Powertone because I had a disagreement with the receptionist at Good Vibes & she was very "crisp" with me & made me feel like I had no value as a customer & she couldn't care if I ever returned or not.
The lovely staff I have met so far at Powertone have a very friendly & happy attitude, & this really means a lot to me.
I am interested in the other 2 treatments on offer (the Narl & Vacustyler), but as they are quite expensive (on top of the powerplates which are not cheap), I would love it if anyone who has used these treatments could review them. I am very careful with what I spend money on & do not want to risk potentially, wasting my limited funds on something that may not do the job to satisfaction.....so please potential Powertoners, let us know your Narl & Vacustyler experience too!!

I bought the Good Vibes MobDeal where I got two sessions for £10. I was really excited about trying Power Plate out as I'd heard rave reviews about how good it was for getting rid of cellulite and strengthening muscles, and I really wasn't disappointed!

My first session was a little scary as I didn't know what to expect but for a 25 minute workout I definitely felt the burn! The trainer made sure I understood how to stand on the plate properly and that I knew how to do the exercises without feeling out of sync with the others. Some exercises were relatively easy and others were harder to keep up with (particularly using the straps and pulling arms up to shoulders...ouch!) but all in all it's a really effective workout without needing to stay in the gym 'til midnight...

My second session was even harder with a different trainer. That's part of why I enjoyed the change, because I got to do different workouts and at a different pace too. This time my legs were aching for a few days afterward but that only meant it was doing its job. I have to say, even after only two sessions I felt like my skin was tighter and my muscles stronger! Block sessions are quite expensive, so there's a fair bit of saving for me to do to be able to afford going back, but it's such an effective exercise it's worth it!

I hate the cringey reviews that some people write on these sorts of "review and comment" websites and have sworn that I would never succumb to writing one... and yet here I am, signing up, registering and writing this... I do so because I was truly surprised how good my experience was at the Powerflex Studios. I hate gyms (and indeed any form of exercise for that matter), but the staff were so nice and used to exercise-phobes like me that they really put me at ease... Oh, and did I mention the results are great. :)

I recommend a visit - try it out for yourselves.

I've been using power plates on and and off for a while at my local gym so thought I'd try out Powerflex Studios in Victoria, it's near to work so I find it convenient to go at lunch time or straight after work. I've suffered in the past with back problems which I've been told is due to the fact that I sit at a desk every day with bad posture, I wasn't sure if a power plate class could help with this but thought I'd give it a go.

I'm delighted to say that it has definitely helped my back and posture and I no longer feel any twinges. The Personal Trainers are very knowledgeable and know their stuff. The classes are always different, the boxing class is my favourite as it's the most fun but is also the hardest. I would suggest booking early as the 6.30pm class is always busy/full but other than that it's a great way to exercise and I'd highly recommend it.

I've been having Power Plate sessions at this studio for a few months now and I've been very impressed.

The studio is quite small but well equipped and the staff are very friendly and certainly know their stuff. Changing facilities are a little limited but the vibe and good classes make up for that.

I really like the intimate classes as you get more 1 on 1 time rather than the larger studios.

They have a £99 per month unlimited deal which encourages me to attend more sessions than I would if I was paying per session. I've really enjoyed my visits to Powerflex and am finding working out enjoyable rather than a chore.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Victoria area.

I'm about to go on holiday so decided to get my body nice and toned before I go away. I work in the Victoria area and as I am already a member of a gym back home in Croydon I wanted to find something different that would help tone me up in my lunch breaks and didn't cost too much money. Thank God I found Powerflex studios!!!!! It's a cute little studio set amongst some offices overlooking Victoria. There are never more than three other people in a class at one time and my instructor Nick is the best! At my first session, he asked what I wanted to achieve and ever since has constantly been thinking up new ways of punishing me (Or reaching my goals as he puts it). He has even given me some tips and ideas for training at my home gym for when I can't make it to Powerflex! They also have loads of deals, that make it very affordable. I would recomend Powerflex to anyone and everyone and thanks to Nick I'll be having no second thoughts about stripping of to my bikini on that beach! :-D

I recently had a few sessions at Powerflex studios in Victoria with Nick and Steph (both taught different classes) and absolutely loved it. Even though the studio is quite small they have used the space well as they have 5 power plates and a changing room/waiting area. The atmosphere was great and I loved the music/lighting!

As the studio only has 5 power plates you feel like you are getting individual attention, even when taking part in a class, the same as if you had a one to one session. I loved the fact that I only had to work out for 30 minutes but still felt like I'd been in the gym for an hour, one of my sessions I had with Nick incorporated boxing and I thought this was great, I'd definately recommend it.

I think the sessions are great value for money and I will certainly be going back, at the moment they are doing a £99 a month unlimited deal!

I'm not a great fan of gyms. But when I learned I was going to be spending 6 weeks in London I thought what the hell? Virgin Active have a great 'pay-as-you-go' monthly membership, which was perfect for me.
Having not been in a gym since 2005 I was amazed to discover the new addition, the power plate. At Virgin Active Wandsworth they have lunch time power plate classes that last about half an hour, which is ideal if you only have an hour's break!
I also tried the aqua aerobics class which was fun and dynamic.
At the end of a workout you have the sauna and steam rooms and the jacuzzi to relax in.
Though it is not the biggest gym in the world it is perfectly adequate and you've got everything you need.

I'm onto my fifth block of power plate sessions. You could say I have caught the bug. Maybe the vibrations affect my mood? I always feel more positive and energised after a session. My arms have never been so firm (still some way to go until I banish the bingo wings) but my sisters are starting to get very envious of my firming body. Most importantly I am feeling really strong and I certainly noticed the difference when walking in the mountains this summer.

Yes, I probably will be signing up for a sixth session. Who, me an addict?

I went for a free Power Plate session from the Wahanda website and was impressed. I've had a Power Plate session at my gym before but didnt enjoy it but having read so much good stuff recently about Power Plate decided to take up the offer and give it another go. One thing is for sure, these guys know what they are doing! Once I'd completed a health questionnaire I was taken to the studio area - there's a nice feel to the place and its quite boutiquey. I could tell by the way the Instructor took me through a series of exercises that these guys know what they are doing - there was lots of encouragement, she made sure I took up the right positions and that my posture was right - apparently very important with the Power Plate. She also told me what each exercise was doing for me which was good to hear. I was then shown a product called Fitbug which gets you to be more active (apparently) and was given a sales pitch on various options to join. Having enjoyed the session I bought 10 more sessions. I've done 6 so far. No regrets. in fact it's fab and I'm pretty sure I'm getting results although I wont know for sure until I do my review after the last session.

I am very appreciative of the free introductory class at the Powertone Studios Chelsea branch. After having tried it, I can be certain I won't be returning as a paying client.
The studio is nice and airy. No air conditioning means it gets quite warm but they have fans places strategically so that the workout isn't too uncomfortable. There are two changing booths, 4 power plates, a stationary bike and a rowing machine.
I arrived about 5 minutes late and the instructor was very accomodating and friendly. However, during the class she would give us her instructions for each exercise but then would go back to her computer and not pay any attention to our movements. If I had paid £20 for the class, I would've felt absolutely ripped off.
I'm disappointed by the class at Powertone Studios Chelsea, and am going to remain loyal to Good Vibes.

I went along for a free session as I wanted to experience the PowerPlate. From the start it was clear that this session was about getting me to sign up to a course before I had even gone anywhere near a Plate. There was an extensive form to fill in and then the 'instructor' spent a long time telling me all about the courses and wanting to know how many times a week I was planning on attending etc. This was followed by an explanation of the FitBug system they use and I was shown on the computer how you can log your food, calories, exercise etc on your personal profile. Finally, I went to the PowerPlate- the one they use for introductory sessions is in a dark room on its own, there were 4 (I think) in the main studio. I was told the basics of the PowerPlate and got to try a couple of sit-ups and press-ups followed by the massage function. That all took about 10mins before it was off upstairs again for a resumption of the hard sell: which programme was I going to sign up for etc. The girl who was attending to me was very nice but I felt I was talking to a sales-person, not a fitness instructor and I have my doubts as to their own backgrounds- I got the impression (I may be wrong here) that these are people who have maybe done a short course on teaching PowerPlate (if anything at all) but do not come from professional fitness backgrounds. If you go for a free 1:1 session at Movers&Shapers, do not be fooled into thinking that you will get a proper PowerPlate session. Their system may suit the 'ladies who lunch' brigade but not those who take sport and fitness more seriously. Thankfully, I was able to attend a free session at Fulham Powertone Studios a few weeks later where I really DID have a free session (in fact I was invited to stay for the next session too) with no hard sell and 'real' sports professionals!

After completing a third block of power plate session I can't say my fat has melted away - but I have only been going twice a week due to work, not hitting the gym for extra aerobic exercise (although I walk everywhere). However I am finding my body is much stronger and I have more definition in my biceps. To my delight, my cellulite, which I thought where the just deserts of getting older eating what I like and drinking too much coffee, has virtually disappeared, leaving me feeling very sleek and confident wearing my bikini on a recent holiday to Greece.

Yes I will be signing up for a fourth block :)

Attended my second power plate class at the Good Vibes studio in Liverpool Street, after previously having a free introductory class in the Covent Garden studio. It was the same instructor as before, and the workout was just as intense.
There are 5 plates in the studio but if you attend during off-peak hours you’re more likely to get a more personal focus.
What is great about this studio is that it is conveniently located for those that work in the city – in and out by just being away from your desk for 40 minutes. You do get warm, but are less likely to break out into a sweat (so no need to re-do make up or wash and blow dry hair). I also found it much brighter than the Covent Garden studio, due to the natural light allowed in through the large windows. Also, the staff are happy, smiley and friendly.

I have started noticing some changes to my body after just 2 sessions and can’t wait for my next session!

Attended an introductory class free of charge (£20 otherwise). Really friendly staff. They're less busy on weekends, especially earlier on, so you could potentially have a therapist's attention all to yourself.
This was my first power plate experience. And it felt wierd. In a good way.
Each exercise is a minute long on a vibrating plate. It was okay until 3 minutes in when muscles in places i never knew i had were crying out for mercy. Not an easy class. However, the 25 minutes do seem like they fly by and I feel positively worked out.
The studio is cute and clean. location is easy to find (off Drury Lane) and the class was great. They also have studios in Liverpool Street and near oxford street (any packages you buy would give you access to all 3 studios).
Would I return? Sure. Once I recover!

I went along on Friday evening after work for a spot of work out at the Powertone Studios in Mayfair. I managed to book myself in for a free session thanks to Wahanda's 'Get Fit for Free' offer. It's the second time I've tried Power Plates but this time was definitely more vigorous in terms of the workout than the last.

I had a session booked for 7.30pm but I turned up 40 minutes too early but luckily there was one free slot available at 7pm as one member didn't show up. Apparantly this happens a lot. Much rather like the Powertone Studios in Fulham, there are only 4 Power Plates in the Mayfair Studio. The ambience there is also clean, airy and spacious.

The instructor got us doing all sorts of exercises from lunges, stretches and squats to sit ups and push ups. She was quite tough on us and pushed us hard - for some this may be a bad thing but for me this is just what I needed or else I would have got lazy.

Although, the session was super strenuous and at one point I thought I was going to pass-out, I would still like to go back for more classes because I can feel that it really makes a difference. I can tell it's a lot more vigorous than my usual gym work-out, therefore I think I will get fit quicker with Power Plates.

One thing I will have to request next time is that they put the music up a little more higher as a good beat often helps me to work out better.

25-minute sessions mean you can fit it into your daily routine, no matter how busy you are, which is great for someone like me who has gym-discipline issues. Really friendly staff. It's very small (one training room, five Power Plate machines) but that makes it feel more personal and private, which I prefer, and the instructor can focus on making sure each one of you is holding the correct position. Only one shower, though, so you're unlikely to get a turn if you're in a rush unless you're first in, and, as above, no towels.

I have just recently started becoming a regular attendee at Frame - amd I am so glad I found them! Not only are Pip and Joan two of the most freindly, welcoming and helpful fitness instructors/owners I have met, but the studios are warm, funky and not at all intimidating.

I have tried lots of classes, but particular favourites are Dancersize with Shaun, Jane Fonda with Leila and Energise Aerobics with Diana (the hardest class I have ever taken!) I have just started the Vibe 4 -week bootcamp which is a great deal. In fact, they have lots of good offers to keep you interested!

The changing rooms are great (love the straighteners!) Overall, I love this place so much I am giving up my traditional gym membership and getting on board here!!

Update. Following my complimentary session to the magic of the power plate courtesy of Wahanda I signed myself up for 10 off peak sessions. Although I have a way to go before I have all over toned bod, I have seen a marked improvement in my legs and bum which has spurred me on to sign up for 20 more sessions to see what happens next.

Aside from firming up my body, the trainers have been very supportive in helping me strengthen my abdominal muscles to help with an old back injury. I find the trainers to be extremely welcoming and supportive and as they work on rotation each trainer has a different approach so the workouts never get boring.

There is nothing flashy about Power Plate. Its just you and three other people on vibrating machines with an instructor in a basement. That being said the system works and although you want to die while doing it, if you do it twice a week for about a month you'll start to notice a difference. Give it longer than that and others will notice. This is a chain of facilities, however, and I am sure that you can find somewhere with a nicer ambiance that will pick up the phone and have a more user friendly webite. That being said, it gets the job done.

I went this past Sunday for a 10.30am Power plate class. Turns out I was the only one there, and although the power plate machines are in one open area of the stretching section, the class is directed by one of the personal trainers. I cannot remember the name of my trainer (Scott?) - an Aussie aspiring foottballer who almost made me puke cause he worked me very hard.

Since I was the only one, he customised the Power plate workout for my needs and goals, and I have to say that i was completely crushed at the end (in a good way). Legs, chest, arms, cardio, abs/core - I got a full body workout. I have done the powerplate a few times, and although i have heard and read that there is not much cardio, I think the new techniques employed by trainers actually concentrate on getting your heart rate up to burn some calories as well.

One note on the scheduling - the woman at the front desk who answered the phone told me the class begins at 10.40am, as does the online schedule, but for two weeks running, the trainer beging the class at 10.30am...(I know cause i missed the class last week!). So, Virgin Active need to get their act together on this one...

From the moment I stepped into the reception of Good Vibes I was impressed, the decor is is divine, simple classic white walls and wood floors with a touch of frou frou added by the ornate mirrors. Welcoming reception staff made me feel at ease and Max my trainer for my free session was friendly and professional as he pushed me through my paces. Initially I found the vibrations alarming, thinking my brain might wobble out of place (!) but I was quickly reassured everything was fine and given advice how to breathe deeply through the exercises which helped.

The next day I really felt the sore. I'd estimate my aches and pains to a good hour long personal training session at the gym! Which made me think vibrating my way to a toned body could be a quicker than schlepping to the gym. Don't get the impression using the power plate is effortless, some of the exercises are hard work, but after my first session I was intrigued and have signed myself up for ten more sessions.

I'll let you known the result when their over :)

I have been going for power plate sessions twice a week (30-minute sessions) since last summer. I love the atmosphere in the West Hampstead store and the staff is very friendly and motivating. The instructors are knowledgeable and vary each session which makes it fun but also tough. In just 4 weeks I felt much stronger, more energised and I have definitely seen a change in body shape which I have been able to sustain. People around me tell me I look more toned and healthy, which feels great.

I would without doubt recommend Movers & Shapers to everyone; it’s a fantastic way of toning up, lose those extra inches and generally feel better about yourself.

I'm never one to write reviews but after my experience at Movers and Shapers, I felt compelled to. I've never been a regular 'gym goer' - I joined a gym as a new years resolution about 3 yrs ago and that was the first and last time I visited. I also lead a very busy life and find it hard to make the time for fitness. But, this year I was determined to be more active and healthy and a friend of mine recommended Movers and Shapers.

When I entered the studio I was immediately greeted by a friendly and profesisonal instructor. Before my session I was offered a complimentary herbal tea (which, incidentally gets offered every time you visit)

I was then taken through a health 'MOT' and an explanation of how the Powerplate combined with the Fitbug works. The Powerplate sessions are designed to strengthen and tone but more importantly for me the sessions only last 30 mins! Perfect for my busy life. The Fitbug is essentially an interactive tracking device that monitors my daily activity and provides online activity and nutrition advice. A bit like an online coach. So, when I'm not in the studio I'm now motivated to walk more!

The session itself is more like a group exercise but there are only about 4 or 5 people in each class. This is perfect for me because you get the individual attention and help if needed; the instructors take a genuine interest in you.

Movers and Shapers is a simple concept that goes a long way - I've been a member now for 1 month and have already seen a big difference in the way I look and feel. I would highly recommend trying it out.

I had been looking forward to trying out Power Plates and went along as a group for a morning session. After filling out a consent form it was very much straight-in, with a quick change in the limited 'changing rooms' (two toilets, one with a shower; two other rooms which don't lock but are nice and spacious).

The instructor was very friendly, but although I knew a little about Power Plates already I would have preferred if he had gone through the general gist of what they do and why they are worth a go. The exercises were very simple, starting with leg-toning exercises which were basically squats whilst standing on the vibrating Power Plate. It was a bit of a weird sensation at first, but I could feel the muscles working which felt quite rewarding as I haven't been keeping very fit recently!

The crunches, done while sitting on the plate, were the hardest part as I could really feel it working. The sitting-down positions were a little uncomfortable as my head really vibrated and I later had a headache which I think may have been caused by all that rattling around. There are only five Power Plates in the studio, so I would definitely recommend going as a group with people you know, as some of the odd positions could be awkward around strangers!

It's definitely worth a try to see if it's your sort of thing; I would do it again as it really works out the muscles, but would need to do cardio as well to feel like I was keeping fit. With each session being about half an hour it's perfect for a lunch break workout, but £20 is quite a lot in my mind for one single session which goes by in a flash, so it may be better to take note of the moves and do them in your own time or at the gym.

I'd always been intrigued by the idea of the so-called Power Plate which, as the latest and greatest fitness gadget to grace the non-celeb population, I thought was some kind of magical metabolising machine that would strip me of my post Christmas flab. However, after a 30 minute lunch break session I can give you a much more realistic account of the Power Plate's virtues.

To start with, you're not going to work up a sweat so don't bother with the latest celeb-worthy gym attire. Simple clothing that's easy to move in is sufficient, and you'll be barefoot so don't bother with the extra luggage like I did. Good Vibe's (unlike most Power Plate studios, so I'm told) does have a shower just in case you do need an emergency shower before heading back to work. The studio itself is quite small but it's all you need really with a few toilets and changing rooms.

The girls and I were a bit wary but our instructor had all the pre-written jokes to keep us at ease. We began by standing on the plate on the balls of our feet, legs slightly bent. There was only one button we needed to worry about and it got the machine rolling – or rumbling actually. The vibration was a very weird sensation and it made me a bit itchy at times as it sent my skin into a frenzy.

We continued to work our legs and bums using various tried and true exercises but supposedly the plate gives your body an extra workout as you're constantly feeling tense. The ab workout was the killer for me (I'd always thought I had quite good ab strength) and post workout I could feel my hamstrings burning slightly (an area I can never seem to work on properly). The session was over before we knew it and back at the office it was as if we'd never left.

Admittedly, during the session my body was aching under the tension but immediately afterwards I felt fine (although in a much better frame of mind than pre-workout). I must say though, I'm not entirely convinced by the whole Power Plate phenomenon. Sure if you keep up with the sessions three times a week you'll definitely see a more toned you in the mirror in a few weeks but, as far as fitness goes your not going to drop a dress size. It's by no means a heart pumping cardio workout and to be honest, you can perform the same exercises at home without the machine which hasn't yet graced the screens of daytime telly selling, and will probably see very similar results.

It's not the most economical way to tone up either. In times such as these, £20 a session is quite out of the question for most. So all I can say is give it a go, try it out for yourself and the least you'll come away with are some new ideas for home-style toning exercises.

In the lead up to my wedding I got sort of obsessed with Good Vibes. It was the only sort of training I could keep to with a really busy schedule and I popped out on my lunch break for the 25 minute sessions 3 times a week. Working out at Good Vibes is a lovely lovely experience - the staff is great and really make an effort to coach you on your power plate sessions and make sure you are progressing and getting better. They are also incredibly friendly, and the entire place has a happy vibe with good music and mint tea etc. BTW the Plate sessions are actually very challenging and (to me) fun - you sweat and really feel it afterwards. Fortunately GW has a shower! Oh, and also the classes are small - only 5 people per class and you need to make sure to book in in advance for busy slots like lunchtimes and post-work.

OK now here's the down side - it's really expensive (£15-£20 per 25 minute class), and in order to get the best out of it you need to go three times a week. And do some cardio when you're not on the plate too. This worked for me when I had the wedding to think about, but post-honeymoon I couldn't really justify it, so it was back to the normal gym. Which just wasn't anywhere near as good or time-efficient.

So I would say if you are at a point in your life when you really need to shape up fast - go for it. Turn some money into time not spent in the sweaty, smelly gym, and instead enjoy hanging out on the plate with the friendly gang at Good Vibes. Man, I miss it!

My favourite place in Notting Hill. Ambience is great, staff is superb and the gym membership comes with 3 personal training sessions plus 1 per month extra for free. Pricier than Active, but worth the difference. Powerplate and pilates classes are very well done, but equipment can only be used during a class.

I loved every minute of it. The Powertone Studios trainers are friendly and professional and aside from the totally energizing workout, the relaxation side of the power plates are great too. I'm looking good and feeling great as they promised I would.
Wish Powertone Studios had been around 5-10 years ago!

I have been coming to this location of Virgin Active for almost 10 years, back when it was Holmes Place.
Same location, same basic facilities and it does the job. I tro to go the Body Pump class here at least 2-3x week in the evenings because the instructors are fantastic.

I have also tried the Power Plates instructor-led classes which are amazing I think. Great workout

The only two downsides of this gym (and other Virgin Actives) are:
1) the air conditioning NEVER works, not in 10 years has it worked - therefore, the studios for the Body Pump classes are so hot, and unbearable so in the summer. The classes can get busy, so this really is not ideal
2) The front desk only give you ONE towel...so, if you use a towel during your workout...guess what, you need to use that same sweaty, dirty towel to shower, or you can pay £1 to £2 for a "fresh" towel...man, they are cheap! They used to give you a small towel, and a shower towel...you would think that given the high membership fees they could sort this out.

But, the location is convenient, so I keep going

I recently had a session at the lifestyle institute with Jessica and loved it. The studio itself is quite small and with limited facilities (bathroom is in the hallway and shared by other businesses and the changing room is bit like those you find in a clothing shop) but it has a good vibe and the instructors are fantastic.

I was really impressed with Jessica's enthusiasm and knowledge and I think that may be the most important factor in places like this. I had an individual lesson, but the advantage of a small studio like this is that even the larger classes are only four people so you really get the kind of attention that you need to improve your fitness.

I had never tried power plate before and although I am fairly fit I was amazed at how hard it was. In just 30 minutes you really do feel like you have had a full work out -- its amazing. Jessica quickly figured out what areas i needed to work on and focused the lesson on that.

Whether in a group or individual, I think the lessons are great value. In just 30 minutes you walk away feeling like you have trained harder than you would at a traditional 60 minute personal training session that costs three times as much.

If you work in the city and are looking for a great way to get fit that you can work into your busy schedule without breaking the bank then this might just be the ticket.
